I'm not entirely sure what's going on, but the last couple of months this app has been almost unusable. It keeps logging me out, and actually today cleared out all my saved and favorited animals. It freezes, it slows, buttons don't respond. It's really a shame, since this is the largest pet adoption app that I see on here. I just had to uninstall it to see if that would reset it, no such luck. Would love to have this fixed and be updated on the latest and cutest cats that need forever homes!

The entire 'Care & Behavior' tab of options has been busted for several months and does nothing to change or narrow results which is intensely frustrating. Layout has slightly changed a couple times over the last so many updates, current one only allows for one listing to be up on screen at a time while scrolling. Not a fan of it in general, previous layout was fine. Would be nice to set search parameters so should any pets within those categories get posted you get a push notification.

Can't search for pets. I have tried my zip code and city, state as well as the surrounding cities. All came back as an error saying it isn't a valid location. The app wants access to my precise location but I find that completely unnecessary and a bit worrying that I can't use a zip code, so no. I used Pet finder years ago to find my first dog and was able to login to my old account this time, but it's changed and requires way more personal information without working. The website is the same.

I hate this app. If I don't have location on when I launch the app it will freeze and refuse to load anything. It's also very slow and recently has stopped loading images. I don't find it particularly intuitive either, I think the default search option should be pets closest to me or even new additions; not "best match". Some of these "best matches" are pets that were listed in 2011 and 90 miles away...

2 stars because I'm sure this is a fixable bug but currently the app isn't usable. I could only scroll if I started the motion in empty space (i.e. in the thin, gray area between profiles). I was not able to select a dog unless I tapped directly on their name (the "details" or "profile" option which did nothing). At this point, it was technically still useable. Technically. In an effort to fix it I reinstalled the app. Now it's completely unusable as I'm not able to get past the welcome screen.

I'd love to be able to use this app since it has some features the desktop doesn't. However, it has a tendency to crash while browsing thru my saved searches. When I reopen the app I have to start my saved search all over again and scroooooollll down to where I left off. The crash always seems to happen when I try to swipe thru the photos. It's very frustrating.

sometimes it works just fine. other times, it randomly freezes on the homepage immediately once you open the app and you can't tap the search bar or anything. it chooses random times to do this and refreshing the app doesn't help. you just have to wait it out a few hours until it decides to work again. just going to the website is easier. and I expecting downloading an app to be the easier one.

Working great now, still gets laggy from time to time using certain filters but still works pretty good. Wished there was a way for shelters to show if they are willing to ship/transport their animals, its a bummer to find an awesome animal but it's not within driving range and I dont want to waste people's time with inquiries if that's not an option.

The searching for pets is great, but you really need to be patient...when searching for a decent amount of time, the app REALLY slows down!!!! The scrolling is choppy; it sometimes goes up, when I'm scrolling down. I can't swipe through pictures on the main search screen anymore; I have to go into the animals profile, and then click on pictures. Even then, it is really slow. Functionally, the app is great (if you're not impatient or in a hurry), but technically, it has a lot of flaws!

The app is not as good as just going to the website. You have more control over searches on the website. Also, in the app, a lot of the photos never load so you can't see them. I have trouble with the scrolling. It's very sensitive so if I touch the side of my screen, it suddenly scrolls down and skips a bunch and then all the photos disappear and won't come back until I close the app and go back in. The website is much better.

Less adaptive than the website, unable to enter the same filters as the website, and wastes my time by having to wade through some genuinely wonderful dogs until I read in their Bios that they wont do well with my cats or child. If it had the ability to filter searches properly, I would use it. Until then, I will have to deal with the website even though it is clunky to use on a mobile device

The website version is better. I am looking to adopt, and the formatting for the app version isn't the most convenient when filtering results. You need to choose one at a time and let it adjust and then pick another filter. Also, for some reason, it sometimes glitches when scrolling and when looking through dog pictures. If the dog happens to have a video, it's compressed to a tiny version that's pixelated. But other than that the app isnt that bad.

I like the app and the website however, what would be super useful is the option to sort favorites by distance in the app AND website (nearest or furthest), since this is really helpful as you narrow down choices for pets you will go to meet. As it stands now, you must go into each animal, once in your favorites list, and decipher distance by clicking into each profile. It's very time consuming.

DO NOT BOTHER WITH THIS APP. It is slow, never keeps you logged in, and never keeps your saved searches. Just use the mobile website-- it's faster, does not log you out every time you open it, and keeps your saved searches handy. After a year of no issues, for 2 months I have been constantly fighting with this app, it makes me log in every single time I open it, and after several updates from the developers (for what?) That still isn't fixed. No other app has been so frustrating. Uninstalling.

Fairly easy to use but its updated twice in the passed year and of course it takes awhile to find the perfect dog so I started looking early. I've lost all my favorites twice to an update. Figure your stuff out cause its extremely frustrating and beyond disappointing when you fall in love with a dog or two just to have them disappear off your favorites when they still need to be rescued...

The website is fantastic and honestly one of the best services I've tried. I was curious if they had a mobile app which was even more refined than the website. However, this app is outdated beyond belief in comparison to the website. They only have the bare minimum for filters and the entire navigation feels mid 2000s. Only positives are that it works (kinda) and it loads quickly.

I detest using this app, have for years, and it's never improved, only gotten worse. Searching is impossible: enter location, then enter what you're searching for & location disappears, then vice versa. Searches yield irrelevant results. It's heavily glitched and it's really a shame for homeless animals and rescue groups who really need a dependable and consistent finder app.

Has potential but is lacking. Caps search radius at 500 miles, when the website has an "anywhere" option. Logs you out. Loses saved pets if you get logged out. Often after looking at a pet profile you try to go back to see all the profiles and it starts you back at the beginning of the list. Plays most videos incorrectly (blurry, no sound, cropped or zoomed in randomly).

The only issue I have is the user should be able to add shelters but other than that the app is excellent 👍. It's updated very quickly. Example: I have 20 dogs that I'm looking at. Today I went on the app and saw all 20 available. I checked again about 30 minutes later and scrolled through my favorites and 2 were no longer available. They list the "unavailable" dogs below the saved dogs. GREAT APP

With searching for an emotional support cat, pet finder makes it easy to narrow down the options of what I am looking for and what is available in the area. being faced with a tough decision the favorites feature is convenient to tract if a pet is still available without having to to the legwork of driving all over town without knowing what is available. it's nice to have an idea and a plan before heading to a shelter and Pet Finder provides that.
