You finally updated it! I would say you broke it, but it never really worked right to begin with. I can't use it more than a few minutes in 3D mode before it just up and quits, and this is on a reasonably capable phone! So annoying. Update: App has been updated again, it no longer just up and quits but now it locks up completely and has to be force-stopped to get the phone to work again.

I use to be able to zoom in and get a clear view of buildings and such. Now it doesn't focus when I zoom in. I tried on several friends Android devices to see if it was just me. It's not. Every Android device I get my hands on has the same problem. I then checked the iPhone version. That one doesn't seem to have any problems.

I really enjoy this cool app. But there's some things that needs improvement in specific areas of the maps. There are some changes that needs addressing like some houses and specific trees that no longer exists in the current time frames of reality. The app once awhile crashes too... when the areas being geographically are too large in the screen than being sky high. This app works best on WiFi than using your cellular data. On WiFi the app works at blazing speed!!! 👍🏻😎

The images are clear and load quickly. The app does not lag at all. For those complaining of these issues, your galaxy 5 or iPhone 6 is not considered a "reasonably capable device" in 2018. Rating 2 stars for lack of features. You cannot add placemarks or save locations without adding files from your computer based Google earth. This makes the app pointless. Very few people are here to take tours of Paris.

This new update makes things unnecessarily complicated while removing features. Now, the screen looks cluttered, tools are more clunky to access, settings are impossible to find, and there's a new black bar at the bottom that is impossible to get rid of. The biggest mistake is with the measuring tool. It is now stuck in meters with no way to change it to any other setting. The Earth is HUGE; why not allow me to use miles or kilometers to better visualize scope? CHANGE IT BACK!

Obviously, the "go-to" for the vast majority of people. In terms of standing for map apps, it's among the best. However, along with any and all other map applications/programs you might use, it's depiction of our world is potentially questionable in comparison to the reality of the situation. Additionally, there are many places where the images are of poor quality or seem deliberately obscured often where much curiosity and human interest lies, doubtful by coincidence.

Was one of the best apps that I use on a regular basis. I would use it for search and rescue, hiking, scouting, fishing and skiing. Since the last update all it does is close upon opening. It's updated with the latest version and I've even uninstalled and reinstalled to avail. please fix! Android Galaxy 8+ Finally found the fix on someone else's post. in summary "Force stop the app, Clear cache and data, Allow contact and location permission, Open"

I use this professionally and the controls are atrocious. The acceleration settings are vastly different from any other product, and it's weirdly easy to 'unlock' the rotation from north by accident. The result is a map that's difficult to control and extremely sensitive to any input mistakes. It's FAR too easy to skip halfway across the country with your map spinning in a random direction. Frankly, this should be embarrassing for a company Google's size. But they've been failing for years

Your updated version isn't as good as the old. I can't go down to street level in almost all location like I used to. I've been to several countries and would go to street level to show people things. Now I can't! Your picture map is very outdated for almost every country or place. I've seen areas that are dated 20-30 years ago. Really?? Your Google! Update something better!

Update! Not good! I have read a lot of recent reviews, seems like they are mostly negative. I would agree! You used to be able to select your unit of measure, then bigin moving the map around and simultaneously see the measurement changing as you move the map. Now you have to select a point before viewing the distance. Please correct this. And PLEASE, when something is not broken, don't try to fix it! I enjoyed the app before this recent change.

As a geography nut, Google Earth has always been one of my favorite apps on my phone. However, I have to voice my dissatisfaction with this latest UI update. The measuring tool, long one of my favorite things about Google Earth, is now locked away in a less accessible location at the bottom - which, when you're not using it, is a tad intrusive to constantly have a gray box at the bottom. Furthermore, measuring itself now defaults to meters, useless over long distances, and is harder to use.

I've gotten lost so many times it's not funny. This app gets me where I need to be. Biggest thanks for making it so easy. Only thing to work on is in map style settings to stay the way I set it up. It always defaults back to second option instead of staying on third one. Other than that, this thing flies. So glad google continues to update with new finds we can explore!

Unbelievable. App freezes my phone after a few minutes, aand the big black search window takes up far too much screen space, particularly in landscape mode. Worst of all is that photos are no longer zoomable, which makes high res images no better than low res ones. If you are going to make this app suck so badly, then you need to support Bing Maps on Android. Not that Bing Maps doesn't have problems of its own, but at least it's better than this.

The new update made Google Earth worse and annoying. I can't do anything without that stupid project screen ad popping into my view. I am not doing work, stop trying to make me. Let me turn off that useless feature or just take it away. I used to be able to create shortcuts to different spots on the map with ease. That was taken away. Do better

The app is very poor in comparison with what Google Earth used to be in the past. You used to be able, for example, to actually see the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean and see the Titanic wreckage. However, there is an actual bug where when you try to type in the search bar, every time you try to hit the space bar, it will glitch out and not do the space, and sometimes it will glitch out when you backspace and take out two spaces and/or characters. Please fix this, it is really frustrating.

As many other things these days, this app was 'optimized'. I used to be able to load large KML/KMZ files (e.g., the entire Natura 2000 network of protected areas from my country). Now it just hangs. It looks better, but it lacks the functionality it had. Even worse, there is no alternative that I know of able to load my KML files on Android. As an ecosystem it starts to be... optimized for average people lets say. Functionality isn't a priority these days. As long as it looks good, who cares.

New version of app allows saving waypoints! However I could not put waypoints into folders or export them, to email to someone for example. The interface is a little awkward. The backend at Google is not good. Just looking at my neighborhood, little mini libraries are there but not the Los Angeles Public Libraries. Searching for library found small branch libraries but not the large Regional Branch. The Windows Earth app really went downhill, mountains appear flat. The mobile apps have 3D still.

App has been 'new' for a long time now and they still haven't fixed the huge problem with measuring distance. Still extremely cumbersome to measure distance in miles between 2 points of interest!! Used to be extremely easy (5 stars) now would give a '0' if I could. I get it you don't want 2 maintain different versions but at least fix this bad version.

Crash! Crash! Crash! That's pretty much all this update does. Google Earth continues to get worse with each new update. Samsung Health continues to tell me there's a problem with Earth. Also, if you open another window or answer a call, it throws you back to aerial view and the settings reset. I guess Google Programing is taking the lowest bidder. Actually, they are working up to charging $ for a PREMIUM VERSION, one that will actually work.

This app used to be so much better, but of course they had to make it worse with an update. Now, the app's UI is less space efficient, with half the screen taken up by "your projects" on every startup. Worse, the app is now a lot slower. It used to load the maps in just a couple seconds, but now it can take over a minute even on good Internet, and there is no visual improvement. 5* -> 3*. Please bring back the old version.
