It's average. I'm still trying to find a podcast app that can replace Google Podcasts and some of the features I liked aren't here. Biggest issue for me is how poorly AntennaPod handles flaky network connections. About twice a day I will get a message about "media file cannot be played" while streaming because I've lost cell service or switched to wifi. This results in the episode I'm listening to being bugged until I manually download the episode and scroll to where I was cut off.

Refreshingly straightforward - After several shifts in podcast apps on Android this one finally just does what it's intended to do and does it well. I especially like the configurable swipe gestures from different places in the app. I hope the developers are proud of their app and continue to support it. Thanks for taking the time to build this.

"The shortest distance between to points is a straight line." "Efficiency is a wrench, not a computer." And, "Keep It Simple Stupid." This app encapsulates all of those statements. It's no big shakes, no bling, and that's it's beauty. Play, Pause, Fast Forward, and Rewind. Very self explanatory. Simple and Effective. I listen to my favorite Podcast and Audio Books, and I'm good to go 👍🏽 Excellent work guys! Thank You so much.

The app works pretty well, although sometimes it will suddenly stop playing a podcast that I am listening to. Usually pressing play again solve the issue however sometimes there is a pop-up and the app will refuse to play that podcast. I do like that it has on your homepage buttons to put you back exactly where you left off on your podcasts. But it does not have a good auto play feature for moving on to the next podcast. You have to essentially go one by one and and do this individually.

Unfortunately one of the worst podcatchers I've ever used. Half the time there will be a point in any given episode where it will glitch and skip, and I'll have to open another podcatcher to listen to the skipped parts. And then Antennapod will say that the episode suddenly can't be downloaded halfway through streaming them. And the methods you have to use for syncing your podcast subscriptions and playback times between phone and desktop are super poorly made and buggy and difficult to set up.

Fellow Google Podcast survivor. App is working great. Added bonus is that it's FOSS. Now to eliminate Google as much as possible! Tired of them abandoning us constantly. Taking one star until they get audio only mode for videos. I only listen and there's a few podcasts that don't work unless video is on so you can't turn off the screen while walking, etc. or it stops play.

Solid user experience once you understand the layout of the app. Took a little getting used to coming from Google podcasts but that's all behind me. My only gripe is that the player widget doesn't work if you haven't been listening for a little while. The play button on my Bluetooth headset will start playing the app but the widget won't. Fix that and this app is 5/5 stars.

Trying AntennaPod after G killed their podcast app. It plays pods! But for my usage, it has some issues: The home tab feels like a mess, and I haven't been able to dial in things like per-pod download limits/queuing/etc. But there's settings for -everything- so (even if I can't find them) the settings are probably in there somewhere. Also, play/pause control in the pull down drawer doesn't work. So... Simple? No. But if you want to customize every lil bit, this apps for you

I was looking for a replacement for Google Podcasts, which in my opinion had the best interface and functionality out there, and this is as close as I can find to fit the bill. It's clean and simple, not clunky and overcrowded like Spotify, and I can't find any real flaws in the app. If you are looking for the best alternative to Google Podcasts this is definitely it.

Found this app after Google Podcasts ended. I tried a few other Podcast Apps and Antenna Pod was not only a suitable replacement but quite possibly a superior option. The only feature I'm missing is the ability to select a podcast and it just autoplays to the next episode. Having to manually add individual episodes to a queue can be inconvenient- especially when you come to the end of your queue while driving.

This is the best all around podcast app I have found. After using podcastguru for years and then finding out none of my progress was saved when I had to redownload the app I went on a search. It took some adjustment time but this app is the best of all worlds. It includes everything I want like downloads, ques, and customizing my podcast lists. I haven't experienced any glitching like other apps I've tried. Definitely recommend!

Google canceled their podcast app platform. Tried YouTube, but it mixes your videos with your music, playlists etc. I struggled to navigate the app when I drove. I need simple for travel wanted to have a specific app for my podcasts. Came across Antennapod. I like how you can search for any podcast on the web. I wish my phone would play my podcasts from my lock screen. My phone is set up to do it, but I've found I have to physically go into the app, after I've paused it. Love the app! Thank you

Excellent UI, with plenty of configurability. It was an almost perfect replacement for Google Podcasts, with the exception that I need to manually rebuild my queue of episodes to listen to. It's particularly great having support for chapters, although the chapters' UI could be better: e.g. an actual page, like the one used for the show notes, and with the ability to expand each chapter to see it's full contents, zoom in on images, etc.

Made the switch after Google podcasts announced they were going away. Took a little getting used to but enjoy it now. However lately, podcasts will not play, or stop/start and drop in/out, unless my phone screen is on. This is pretty annoying as I don't always want my phone screen on, especially in my pocket playing on Bluetooth. If it keeps up I'll probably try a new app

Works well and easy to use. I don't find a lot of overwhelming technical jargon or terms that seem to be specific to the app so that I don't know z whether too g turn a Carrie on or off. Everything is easy to find and use. I would love to see a way to create bookmarks or time stamps for bits I'd like to come back to in a particular episode. Also an audio boost, as I often listen to talks where Q&A sessions often have challenging sound levels. Overall an excellent app.

This is by far the best podcast app out there, however there are a few glitches that need to be addressed. 1. Sometimes it will randomly rewind itself in an episode by several minutes, not sure why. 2. Sometimes when you go back to the app and start an episode it will play with no sound. You simply have to play the next episode then go back and play the previous one to get the sound back. 3. Only with this app, when I'm working and my phone screen is locked it will unlock itself in my pocket.

When Google got rid of their podcast app they suggested that I switch my library over to YouTube music. That was a terrible option. I am so glad I found other Antennapod subscribers sharing their positive experiences. Transferring over to this app was quick and easy. I love that it is open source. Episode downloads are so fast. A very intuitive interface. It also syncs seamlessly from my Android phone to the Android Auto app on my car. I can't think of any other features that I would add.

Now that Google podcasts is going offline, I switched to this app. It works as well, if not better, than the original Google app. Was easily able to transfer my subscriptions and start right where I left off. The only thing I would change is to have a swipe or quick button option to add podcasts to the queue, instead of having to select them individually.

Had to change my review from 5 stars.. Loved this app, great interface and queue system, but lately it's just unacceptable. It will cut out and end an episode before it's over and move to the next episode. Going back to try to get what was skipped will have the same results, with the app just saying nope, that's the end. On top of jumping back randomly while listening anywhere from 3 seconds to 10 minutes. It's just a bad time.

I used Google Podcast for years and needed a replacement after Google announced they were shutting it down. AntennaPod was an easy switch. The layout is easy to understand and has alot of versatile features for a more personalized experience. I was able to pick up on it pretty quickly and find all my old podcasts. Has a few hiccups, but nothing too bad that makes the app unusable.
