I have used this app in the past. Unfortunately, it cant identify pieces of music accurately anymore. Itried4 or 5 times to find out info about a Piece of music used as a tv series theme song from early 2000's. One outright failure, and several offers of music released in the last couple of years. None of which bore any even distant resemblance. I was sitting about 7 1/2' from the tv, no other sounds.

It used to work great nearly every single time. The last update removed the ability to start a search from my Pixel 6's pull down menu. In environments where it used to have no trouble picking out music from background noise, it consistently fails to find any results. Anyone speaking nearby or any sounds that approach the level of the music playing (environments like stores or restaurants, where it was most useful) breaks the search entirely. Whatever got changed made the app basically useless.

It can identify a lot of songs but definitely not all of the songs that do many if us listen to. Many older songs it should k"now but app. doesn't have a clue" to what you're listening to. Also app has been out long enough to be The Absolute BEST in the Business, unfortunately it's definitely NOT! Truth be told there's several "Web Pages" that can (identify songs) that Shamaz just can't identify. Extremely Frustrating! 💯

I haved loved this app for years UNTIL about the beginning of 2023. Since then it listens then gives error messages claiming technical issues and when those are resolved it will send result. However, it never fixes itself. I lost my entire library. I have uninstalled and then reinstalled. Im broken hearted. Dear Support, please tell me how to fix this. Im lost with the app... mostly crushed about losing my library. I have Samsung Galaxy Ultra 23.. App hasnt worked once for about a year.

This used to be my go to app, and purchased the premium version since i used it so much as a working dj. However I find Google Song Search is more accurate for the genres I need to find songs for. If you need to find Dancehall, Soca, Afrobeats, soulful House, or rare funk you will have a higher success rate on Google song search. I still like the Shazam app, but I don't think the developers have upgraded the algorithms in order to be competitive.

Honestly disappointed in how poorly mismanaged this app currently is. Took a good thing and destroyed it. Pitty. I went ahead and uninstalled. If I run the search on the same song that pulls up 4 different results, none of which are remotely close to the actually song playing, what is this app even for? No point in letting them scrape my data when I get literally nothing out of this.

Worked fine until my phone updated itself automatically yesterday. Now Shazam doesn't work. It's as if it won't work in the background. I used it a lot for YouTube for songs that didn't include the song name in shorts or videos. I really hope they make an update to this issue. Thanks. Galaxy S22 Ultra. Update... So reinstalled the app. This made the app ask about if I knew Shazam could run on background and find out more info. Turns out I needed to give permission for YouTube. FIXED PROBLEM!!

Half the time when I scan songs with a good sample quality, I get the most random results (if any at all) that sound nothing like the song I'm scanning even after multiple attempts. I'd say 75% of the songs are mainstream enough to where they should be recognizable but, apparently they're not. I set the app to auto-update to mitigate this issue & I often check the play store to ensure it's up too date but nevertheless, the problem persists. It works about 50-75% of the time overall so 3 stars.

A BLESSING, this app is!! In an era where the traditional apps on your phone that once did music recognition proud, but now have downgraded themselves to shameful deafened detectional services... One app, THIS app, emerges victorious with not only impeccable music recognition, it does it in an enveloping way & style with results that feature the cover art & seemingly saves the result to a playlist! I'm impressed!! For one that is not a fan of Apple products, I'm DEFINITELY a fan of Shazam!!

The auto function doesn't seem to work as well as it used to. "Tap to Shazam" works great. I can have it on auto, let a song play, and nothing. As soon as I switch to "tap", it names the song immediately. UPDATE- 3/7/24: At some point in the last couple of years, they fixed it. Auto-Shazam now works great, and it shows you a banner of any song it picks up. Changing rating from 3 stars to 5. I was actually watching a rerun of "Newhart" and Shazam recognized the theme song and notified me.

App usually works well, but it can't identify every song, and sometimes guesses the wrong one even after "listening" for 30-45 seconds. When tapping on a YouTube video link, the video embedded in the app plays, but when trying to "Open App", Shazam does NOT let you transition away to watch the video in the YouTube app itself.

That this type of app is still offered for free is appreciated. It recognizes most songs that it should. I wish it included obscure records like international house music songs from the 80's and 90's. But that's a very tall order and no one does that, however it knows most songs that played on the radio, which is good enough!

I can still remember the first time I used Shazam when it very first came out, feels like 20 years ago... I was excited then skeptical then amazed by it's accuracy. Actually, I was BLOWN-AWAY!! Now, after not using it for a decade, I reinstalled it a couple of weeks ago. Once again I am absolutely BLOWN-AWAY!! But how do you improve perfection? Add one click list or share, add lyrics, save to anywhere & unlike 99% of internet & app O.G.s: no degradation🥳 + it's STILL FREE🤑!!!🤯 THNX SHAZAM!

I really like this new update for WearOS, but there is a major problem with it. Apparently, Shazam cannot connect to the internet to identify the song when it's connected to Bluetooth. The moment I connect to WiFi on my Watch, Shazam instantly starts to recognize songs. I reconnected back to my phone's Bluetooth and the issue came back. Please get this fixed since it's almost useless with Bluetooth-Only models.

I've been a Shazam for a few years now and i enjoy the app a lot. But the issue I'm having is that the notification shazaming feature of the app doesn't permanently stay up. I literally physically have to open the app just to get the notification feature to appear and even then it doesn't stay up for a long period of time. So if there is a way you can make the notification feature permanently stay up all the time I would appreciate it.

I really like some of its features, such as the create and added songs that I've Shazamed into a playlist in my Spotify, and the small toggle icon that you can quickly Shazam from your notification bar and it would pop-up lyrics as well. The only thing I would like is that only in the settings can the Shazam notification/toggle button be removed. I sometimes swipe left/right on the notification, and it would be gone before when I needed it.

Really needs an option to report mistakes etc. Sometimes when you click on the name of the song it doesn't show that info but rather a link to where you can play it. some songs will have a featured by tag at the end and they get very long sometimes. but it's 99% accurate in my case. I suggested that they give us the ability to input song names and artists so that this app can search for songs that it could not identify. I hope that they do this.

I dont usually do reviews, but I love the Shazam app. I use it almost every day. Since music is a huge part of everyday life, it's great having a tool to find the one song you hear at the supermarket/restaurant. Or settling a little debate between friends on which song is playing at the bar. One thing that is annoying me is that I have to continuously turn on my settings for the notification bar. When I came to make the review, I noticed I needed to update the app. Hopefully, it helps.

Great music finder app, but fails to recognize foreign songs. I have listened to several radio stations from the Middle East and Southeast Asia. When I try to identify the songs with Shazam, it doesn't identify them, not one of the songs. Seems like Shazam only works for english and spanish songs and not other foreign languages, at least for the ones I mentioned.

This app is and always has been a lifesaver! Lately, though, the communication between this and Spotify seems to be spotty. I've been getting one specific song (MILLION DOLLAR BABY by Tommy Richman) being added to my Shazam Tracks playlist in place of the songs that should have been added. I'm very tired of removing this song dozens of times from my playlist, haha.
