More About IamResponding (IaR)

This App is a companion feature to the IamResponding.com system, which enables first responders to know who is responding to an incident, where they are responding, and when. This is used by thousands of fire departments, EMS agencies, and incident response entities and teams. The IamResponding.com system also includes incident notifications, duty crew scheduling, inter-agency messaging, incident mapping with directions, hydrant and water-source mapping, and much more. This App brings all of the primary features of the IamResponding system to mobile users in the field, in an easy-to-use and access format.

IaR was near flawless before this update. Agree that is now a pita when trying use IaR to let dispatch and team know you are responding. It does not pop up with needed data. Text messages are hit and miss. As previously noted cannot set to dedicated ring tone seperate from general phone calls. Not seeing any recent calls under CAD Have to go to audio which is virtual worthless for getting run data Appears that took a working system and broke it.

Nothing like getting alerts 40 minutes after the call goes out. Unfortunately many fire companies try relying on this app as the primary method of notification for calls and it is no where near reliable enough for that application.... additional the delayed activations are becoming increasingly frequent. I assumed maybe it was maybe a data service issue, however, that hypothesis was ruled out when another 3rd party app used by another service I work with was dispatched on the same incident and activated 15-20 minutes prior to IAR. This app is junk.

Just wanted to take the time out to thank the tech support, especially Brad, for all the help in getting my app to function properly. It was about a 2-3 week span but he stayed on it. No matter what time of the day I alerted the tech support, they were on it right away. I'm proud to announce that my app is functioning. Thanks Again!

Too difficult to mute and unmute notifications. Most other apps allow you to silence notifications through their phone. Not only that, the notifications go off in multiples. So at 3am on my day off or when I'm trying to catch what little sleep I'm going to be getting, I get woken up by this obnoxious thing and have to go through the apps settings and check off 4 different options to turn off notifications. Clearly this app wasn't designed by a first responder. And the response proved me right.

App does what its suppose to do however I have encountered 2 different issues. first one is my notification doesnt sound immediately when the incident is shown in the app. some times it takes a minute some times 5. the second could be the app or the 911 center I'm not sure but the address dont load into the map correctly there has been several occasions where the map had me going several hours away one time it was to California and I live in Pennsylvania (very very rare that it happens).

Super glitchy. Unreliable because of the unknown time it takes for I am responding to send out the messages. Have you ever reset a password online and read the little thing that says, "the email may take up to 24 hours to reach your inbox" (or something like that). I am responding uses the same type of email system. Sometimes it's super quick but other times you don't get the call info until after the call is all over. Definitely room for improvement. (also, a glitch between pages on Android)

After the latest Android update on my phone, I can't get IAR to load. It just sits there loading. Our department uses this app for all our communication, as it was intended but I can't get it to load now. After leaving the review the Tech Support team reached out to me within 24 hrs. Steve walked me through a few things. After that, we discovered the firewall on our home WiFi is the issue. I'll just shut off the WiFi on my phone when I need to use IAR. Thank you Steve for your help!

Fixed! After speaking with Tech Support they were able to everything up and running! Hi I am a First Responder and I'm having issues with incidents not popping up. I recently got a new phone a Signa TCL, I used to have a Samsung Galaxy J3. Do you have any advice to get the Pop Up notifications again? I also have it set up for the app to pop up and notifications to go off even if phone is in silent/vibrate mode and it's still not working. Please advise.

I've had IaR on my Android for almost 2 years now with zero issues. This week the app quit alerting. I emailed tech support on a Saturday night and Sunday morning they had me back up and going again! I can't say enough about how helpful tech support was! (Brad was actually a real person that helped troubleshoot via text message) I am more than happy with the app and the people that stand behind it.

This app, mandatory in the fire department I belong to, does tell us, usually, that we have an incident to respond to. However: there is a lot of extraneous stuff on the response screen, and boy, do I mean a lot! It is difficult to make out where you are supposed to go through all of the extraneous garbage. Also, I am responding will rebroadcast your alarm hours or even a day later, so you never know when to trust it.

Was near perfect. New update does not show the call as a pop up on a lock screen. Now I need to unlock phone, open IaR, read it and then click responding. All while I am trying to get dressed and out the door. iOS, still seems to be OK. This is now klunky to get to a call details. Also, with a recent update, not sure if Android or with IaR since both were updated, when I go in to make a change to notification tone, it is set to phone default. Or, I can make a selection from a limited list. Now I do not know if I have a phone call or a call to respond to. Again, iOS seems to be fine with making notification sound changes

Mapping fearure is nice to see others responding in real-time. However, could really use a feature for turn-by-turn directions to a new call/incident if even to link to a separate app that supports it(i.e. Google Maps, Waze, etc...) [UPDATED] Found turn-by-turn option in previously obscured button due to my resolution/screen-size. Thanks for the insight and help.

The app kept on crashing after the latest android update. I usually just wait for all the apps to fix the issues on their end and send out updates. Well, this was going on a long time and I saw others having issues. So, I emailed and asked if they had an update. Brad worked with me and determined the location was shut off on my phone. After getting it turned on, we tested and it worked. So, turn on your location notification if you are having issues.

One of the big draws for us was the built in chat feature. A regular group text is limited to 20 people and you can't add or remove. If a new person joins or someone leaves then you have to start all over again. The chat feature solves all that. We can have multiple groups that are adjustable. We tend to have some fun....but gifs/memes arent supported. Attention IAR: Your competitor read your reviews to try and get ahead of you. Oh, the back button is mostly useless. Who's idea was that?

App is great and the tech support over the phone is great but my vibration wont stop. When I get a notification my phone vibrates, just as I set up in settings, however even after unlocking my phone and opening the app the vibrating wont stop. I've even made sure all notifications are closed. on a few occasions I've had to force quit the app to stop it. now this does not happen every time, but seems to be a reoccurring problem.

When trying to customize CAD and messaging notification sounds it doesn't list the IAR tones as options, only my Galaxy tones. Out of curiosity I went into my text messaging and tried to customize a notification tone for a random person's text messages and the IAR tones are an option there. Why are they not showing up as options on my IAR app tone settings? Galaxy 21 Ultra. Thank you

Update: Thank you for fixing the lack of pop up notifications! Since the update there No pop up notifications for Audio Alerts. I only received a audible alert and no notification in the notification bar. This feature was very helpful because if I miss the sound I could still see a notification in my notifications bar . Please fix this. The notification only works in CAD.

Worked well for a while, decent features for our department. I gave 4 stars originally, but really should've been 5 stars after getting used to it. *BUT* now it continually crashes whenever I try to open it up fully. Unable to send/receive any interdepartment communication as well. This is widespread over all in our department that updated to the latest version. Need fixed asap, we shouldn't be paying for an unusable app. Restoring to 4🌟 for now, working again.

No longer works on my phone. It just spins when I open the app. I have cleared cache and restarted phone withno success. The app at one time was useful. Update. Was able to get it to work by installing the app and then reinstalling it. Works for awhile. Have Uninstaller it 3 times so far. Have not received audio in 5 days. Other members of the department report similar issues. Not a reliable app.

Over complicated app that feels like they just tried to get a product out without testing it. Way too much information on the alerts. Doesn't show what company should be responding in the notification. Too many settings to play with. Slow to load. Hydrants never load properly, if at all on the map. Notification sounds don't work. Menus, buried inside menus. App constantly closes if I even touch close to the left side of the screen. Apparatus should be able to be sorted by company. Not a good app
