Updates have seemed to remove and worsen functionality. Temperature and humidity graphs are less responsive, making it difficult to scroll between different days and compare. Air quality and pollen count information has disappeared. Also, 'care and protect', which is supposed to alert you to faults, didn't seem to notice that my boiler had stopped working. No motivation to start paying a subscription for extra functionality if the basic ones aren't working.

The app rarely connects so I come back to a cold home, or leave thinking my heating is off, only for it to actually remain on. It doesn't alarm you that the battery is low on the thermostat, rendering the whole system useless when it does run out of battery. It logs me out repeatedly and won't connect to my own Internet most days. If I could take the thing out myself, I would. Seriously disappointed in the product and the app...

I get some internet connection errors sometimes,where I have stable connection. It show for 3 times after dismissing it disappears. Page flicketing onloading. Overall the look and feel could be better. I think the app should be made with native technology like flutter. I bet its made on html component like react native or ionic. Thus all these problems .. and not smooth navigation.

Good app experience which is unfortunately hampered by tado's push to sell subscriptions. The geofencing functionality is the most egregious example for me. I get reminders every time I leave home asking whether I want to switch to "away" mode. Thus, the app clearly knows I am out of the house, but refuses to do the simple automation of reducing the target temperature. For this BASIC functionality I would need to book a 3€/month service. Sorry tado, but this just goes to far for me.

It's been over a year since I installed tado but I haven't seen any good app updates. I left a review previously saying that you should be able to set heating and cooling presets in the app so when you open the app you can tap one button to turn on the heater mode or tap another button to turn on cooling mode. Current app design requires too many steps to turn on heating or cooling with steps being: Open app, tap on temperature button, tap again on details, tap the on button, adjust then save.

On my samsung phone, home screen rooms are no longer identified. This happened after an automatic upgrade, just on my phone. My iPad and my wife's iPhone work as before. Seems impossible to correct. I originally thought that the system was great, and then the bugs started. We had false messages about batteries, and now this strange change. I also see the need for an option to easily change seasonal settings. It's potentially a great system but still has a lot of bugs.

Suddenly stopped working on my Motorola Edge 50, freezes on the splash page. Restarted the phone, force-stopped the app, cleared memory and cache, to no avail. I uninstalled and reinstalled, and now I'm stuck on the login screen. Useless.

Loading the history graph takes too long. Loading a graph of the previous day takes even longer. I notice that it is not worth the wait for me. I keep swiping, nothing happens for more than 10 seconds. Not even a loading icon. It used to work great.

Just arrived home after holiday to find the heating full on, blasting without intention to stop! Living room temperature 34.4°C says thermostat - the setting on Tado is "manual" and temperature set to 16°C! Outside is sunny and 29°C. No messages from Tado, and absolutely no smart schedule settings for temperature higher than 20°C, so even if it switched from manual to smart schedule, why is it heating the house to 34.4°C and still going strong?! Needless to say, I lost my faith in this devices.

Started with Basic setup, and found this to be very beneficial last winter. I have since upgraded all our radiators with smart TRV's ready for this winter. The App is great, and I do have the extra Care & Protect upgrade too, which works well.

Due to poor software (this app), the smart AC control V3 is a glorified remote control. There is nothing smart about it. I.e. you can use the app or a home integration instead of the remote control. That's it. My dumb AC remote is just as smart. I'm extremely disappointed.

I've been using tado for a year or two now and I cannot imagine using anything else or going back to having a non smart thermostat. The App is good and informative, I only use the free parts as I cannot justify the cost for our lifestyle. The only downside I can find is the RH% is quite off. I have tested this and on average it's +-7% off. All in all, I always recommend tado to friends and family!

my only criticism is that it's trying to be accessible and transparent with its user experience - but I find the User Interface to be complex and simple at the same time. (it's hard to explain). it seems to do everything it needs to do - without an awful lot of user input - which is great - until it goes wrong and then it's a bit like any modern gadget - you take a look inside and don't have a clue where to start? The I.T Support - via online chat - is exceptional.

When it works, it’s great. But far too much of the time, it doesn’t. As a result, it’s been a huge frustration, time drain, and we’re frequently without heating and/or hot water. App fine but SRV and wireless smart thermostat are constantly dropping off the network. The boiler is frequently not triggered at all. Expert heating engineers have confirmed the problem lies with data. However, tado support is online online, is slow and generally unhelpful.

Expensive hardware, missing simple key software features, and too-typical "thanks for your feedback, we'll ignore it" "support". It "works" but it's not a usable enough product, especially for the price. And of course it forever depends on the company and its services and beneficience to not turn into just a worthless expensive pile of plastic. I don't recommend it unless/until a wholesale philosophy change occurs to make it usable without reliance on Tado's cloud, without up-selling :-(

Missing tons of features. From one hand the equipment is limited to 25 degrees. You can't also set the limits by the physical thermostat to a certain range (e.g. I have guests and I don't want them to set the heating to over 22 degrees). The analysis is so basic and the reading is often not precise. For such expensive hardware, I expect a better software.

Upgrading v3 to v3+ feels a bit like a let down. Yes the interface looks nice. But most of the features are just fanzy signs saying it's automatic set, no info's or manual options. And the outside temperature on you control screens are gone. So paying 20 $ for something that feel less, is bit of a let down. From the promotional materials you get the sense v3+ gives "more control" but that control most be with tado, Cuz you don't get it as the user...
