For those who use DAP, I found another workaround for the problem with unresponsive controls. Just skip back and forth one track BEFORE connecting the DAC. Then you can connect the DAC... Somehow this helps the application to run smoothly even with the plugined DAC. Tested several times and it's working great!

Hey man, I'm sure the app works well but I'm on MIUI 11 and it didn't work for me. Infact, it has messed up my volume buttons. I've uninstalled the app but the ADB command is still running in my phone (I think), so whenever I hit the volume buttons, the volume doesn't go up or down. It's been months since I uninstalled the app, and I've still been having this problem. Is there a way to undo the changes ADB made to my phone? Like a reverse ADB command to undo every thing and restore to default?

Works great on the Samsung S10+. Don't need any pro features so haven't purchased, but impressed that the free version has no ads. Unsure why this has so many bad reviews - likely people misunderstanding the settings (e.g. the free version only works when the screen is locked).

Beware can't customize holding down volume buttons, only single or double press. Took a min for me to figure out how to get it to work but that might be me and not a dogshit user interface. But now when I got it working it does almost exactly what I want, skip or go back to previous song track.

Hi I have an ZTE axon 7 and I cant find the long press skip option. I bought the pro version. Been connecting to pc with adb debugging enabled and Windows NextTrackSetup.exe set up for like 3 hours and not seeing any options. Did you remove the feature? Installations from pc just freeze when clicking Grant long press permission. EDIT: I think I know why. My phone latest update is still Android 7 unfortunately. Long press unfortunately doesn't work with 7? Still a great app nevertheless.

Pixel 3a here. I wanted the long press of volume up to change music while screen locked. This app made that possible. Nice! However, it also changed the behavior of long press volume up and volume down while the screen is not locked. Now the long press of volume up and volume down doesn't do anything while unlocked. Before it would raise/reduce the volume until the release of the button. I would like to have the same behavior as before while the screen was unlocked. The setup was not so nice.

So easy to set up and of all the apps in the Play store that I have tried, designed to remap the buttons on my phone (Note 9) to skip tracks, this was the ONLY one that works with my phone screen locked and off...Amazing! This app even did a better job than the highly touted app bXaction which I purchased for double money...wish I bought this app first. Well worth the couple of dollars....Thank You!

First off, forget the brain damaged free version and buy the app. Double tap doesn't work quite as I had expected on my Redmi Note 7 Pro. Instead it works more like a long press. In practice this is actually OK. Most importantly, it let's me skip tracks in Power Amp, whilst running TomTom in my car with the screen on.

Rewriting my review: It's a good app that does exactly what it needs. Paywall is fine because no ads and such, doesn't even need Internet (thank you). I'll say it again though like in my initial review, I would like it see a press and hold option even though it uses different permissions and all. The Android 14 bug might be an OS bug. It got fixed for me after a system update. All in all a good app that does what you'd expect. I would just like to see a little more functionality.

Awesome. I've tried for ages to remap my corded/wired headsets buttons to skip to previous track and this app does exactly that. Absolutely worth the 2€.

Skipping and repeating tracks using the long press function works great on the LG V20 (Oreo)! Long pressing to skip tracks was something that I missed terribly from the good old days of a rooted phone, and this app brings that back. Absolutely worth the asking price and then some.

I had an issue with the app in the beginning, the volume down wasn't skipping. My fix was skipping the song through my notifications. Try doing that for your music app if you're having issues. Overall this app is amazing and I recommend it. I'll be buying the full version myself. Thank you for such and awesome app.

The app does what it promises, skip a song with the volume button. But I was expecting at least you could use both volume keys, one for skip, and the other one for previous song. If you're looking just for this feature this app is meh. If you're looking for more you gotta pay. Plus it doesn't work with AOD; 1 star for the horrible developers attitude :)

Keeps shutting itself off. EDIT: The toggle in the app is reverting back to off. That never happened on this phone until recently. I've updated the app but not the phone software so it seems more like an app issue. After messing with background usage settings to ensure the phone isn't killing the app in some way that is forcing the app to toggle to off by itself, I finally got it to stay enabled.

Android 11, Google Pixel 4a 5G, paid version. Next Track is the only rootless volume-button seeking app that works on my device at all. However, I have found that seeking forward eventually stops working in certain apps without any apparent cause, which is only temporarily resolved by reboot (Droidsound-E, Odyssey music player, Bandcamp). This is common enough that I cannot fully depend on the app as a replacement for built-in seeking.

Well worth the money spent. Next Track gives you freedom and control over your music through the volume buttons. I'm not that tech savvy so I had a little trouble at first with the ADB command prompt. It was user error because I forgot to unzip and extract the downloaded files. Once I did, it was super easy to set up.

I have a good impression of, and a good disposition toward this developer. However, several minutes after installing the app, it became evident the app was not working as described, on my device. I found no available, handy way to cancel my purchase, as I have done with other non-functioning apps in the past. I contacted the developer asking for both advise or a refund. I have as yet to receive a reply after many days. Keeping an open mind. Thank you ! Your answer was not helpful. Best wishes.

I connect my phone via 3.5mm cable to my car's head unit because SQ is better than Bluetooth but I'm not able to skip a track without looking at the screen. This app is exactly what I need. Thanks a lot! A quick tip: make sure the volume isn't muted "outside" the player (some players have in-app volume controllers) if it doesn't skip with Volume Down.

Volume up/down skip feature fails to perform correctly after the phone is connected to bluetooth. Since I always use bluetooth, this is a disappointing turn of events. Would have possibly given 2 stars if it wasn't for the developers ridiculous attitude towards anyone who comments negatively. Maybe work on fixing the flaws in your product? Response: I'm not interested in the free version, Im talking about the paid version which *still* proved faulty. Your app has flaws, yes you should fix it.

Ever since I updated my OnePlus 6T to Android 11 about two weeks ago, the distinction between single and double press no longer works as expected. The app is consistently configured to trigger next/previous track on double press, which worked fine with Android 10. Since the update, periodically even single presses trigger next/previous track. So for a few hours, sometimes a day, next/previous track will be triggered by a double press as configured. Then suddenly, without a reboot or any change to system or app configuration, a single press will trigger it instead. I still like the app but obviously this behavior is not ideal.
