The app needs an overhaul. Since we already pay a subscription to play, the app and its functions should be included. Speaking from a tech standpoint, i understand the log off the game bit so that doesn't irritate me. I like that i can show off my character's outfit from my phone, but we should be able to change gear sets from there. Create them, no....change what our character is wearing, yes.

Quite underwhelming. It'd be nice if you could change your equipment (if possible) and check current party listings. Also, a 3D model of your character you could move in 360° would be much better than the stock photo of our 3D character we shown in the app. Also, the app could run a bit smoother with smooth animations, and the UI could be more pleasant. It's ok for messaging, but it really doesn't offer anything else noteworthy. It has potential, though.

For a MMO with a paid subscription, this app is disappointing. I won't go into all the negatives, (micro transactions being the biggest) but if you would like to improve the app, start with allowing the ability to send retainers on ventures. Do some research on this game's competition, see what they offer, and try to create something better (with regards to features and functionality) or at the very least on par. A fantastic game, a terrible app. Will change my review when/if it improves.

Not as accessible as the app. should be. The chat features are very limited. If I'm paying for premium, there should be no limit on market transactions or moves. Instead there is a limit that still wants you to pay more cash on top of premium. The best thing that comes from premium is the extra chocobo saddle bag, but for $4 you can get 2 retainers which is nearly double the inventory space the $5 premium app gives you. The best parts of this app are free especially the event management.

Functional enough for an app. I installed it for the additional preferred teleport and I've yet to pay for Kupo Nuts. If I really need to manage undercutting in the markets, I'll just log in. Can't really speak to the chatting feature, as that requires chatting to people, but the alarm doesn't seem to send notifications. Or maybe I have them turned off? If only we could send retainers via the app.

The app itself is pretty great. Functionality and the like is great. But it's much too limited on how much you can do. Even with the premium service you still can only do as much as you have kupo nuts. Wouldn't mind paying the fee if there was more incentive to do so. 1 extra bag, 1 extra retainer and some more kupo nuts just doesn't seem worth the extra 5 bucks.

While the premium currency and subscription to use most features is annoying, I can message my friends and check prices on the market while in dungeons, instances, etc. Mynonly other issuenwith the app is that it takes twice as long as the lodestone to update your character information and you cant easily switch between characters in different servers.

Like many others, the app is very limited. The useful features it does offer is stuck behind a pay wall. While the premium version does give more, it's more stuff that they are already charging you for. Paying extra for retainers is already loaded. Yes they do more than offer bag space but to be honest, most people just want the space. So it just feels nickel and dimie.

I really don't think this app is a bad app for what functions it offers. I do enjoy checking my retainers to see if they have sold anything while I have been away and putting up 1-2 items every so often. The reason I'm rating it so low is because yall clearly trying to sucker people into giving more money every month. If the premium version of this app allowed people to buy, sell, and adjust all they wanted, then MAYBE I would consider it but I feel as though your mainly offering a retainer and extra inventory space for the extra money I would be spending every month. If I'm paying the money, I don't want there to be a limit on the major focus of this app.

Between the 3% charge for buying items off the market, the needless "kupo nuts" needed to make any kind of transaction, this app is nearly worthless. Being able to look on the market is still useful, but it is completely unacceptable to charge so much for a simple function. I pay a monthly subscription to the game. I should not have to fight paywalls to use your companion app.

Alot of people are looking for the utility of this app and honestly it does fall short. For me I'm literally using it for the visual aspect of keeing up with guildmates and of course staring at my cuteness. Also, to help me keep inventory of my items when I'm at work or on the go as I am constantly power leveling my classes; I know which items to move and which to keep when I log in at a later point in time.

I feel like it's a missed opportunity. I really like being able to check board prices and send your retainer off to sell stuff with the app. There's a lot they could add to make the app far better though. Mog Station could be put on here. It would be really nice to have checklists for various items too so I don't have to use 3rd party sites. Stuff like Triple Triad cards, sightseeing log, etc. I definitely use this app and it's helpful, just would be cool if there was more to it.

I like the IDEA of the app. But it is just terrible itself. You have to be logged off to do a bunch of things on it. I get it's on the go.. but it doesn't do you much good if you are AFK on the game a lot. Also it's very slow, and very limited with many restrictions. You can't even switch the characters on your account, so if you have and want to check other character you'll have to uninstall it and log in again...

I've found the app useful to manage and keep track of my inventory when offline, but the lack of ease in using the app makes it a bit if a pain sometimes. While I like the extra saddlebag and retainer (premium), I do wish there was a way to manage retainer ventures, do more than 2 things a day, and get a more complete picture of your inventory. I can't tell which items are currently equipped in my armory chest, for example. At that point, I may as well log on.

Great app, with the exception that you have to uninstall the app and redownload if you have multiple characters. I get you shouldn't have to so it's not too big of deal, but dang, just allow me to log out and back in instead of uninstalling! Besides that, I'd give it 4 stars, overall feel and amount of stuff you can do really is overwhelming.

It's started running this "Widget Update Optimization" service with a persistent notification. I know I can hide/silence the notification but I'm not satisfied with that -- I don't want this foreground service running on my device at all. According to the Android developer docs, it should be replaced with e.g. WorkManager or silent push notifications, or at the very least I'd appreciate an option to just turn it off.

The recent update adding the ability to complete and reassign retainer ventures via the app is really nice, the only problem is that you can only reassign them to level based ventures and not quick explorations or the longer ones that take 18 hours (I forget the name of them). This feature would be perfect if they added those options as I do not currently see any way to do so from within the app.

It works exactly what I use it for. I'm trying to level up my retainers, so having the ability to send them on ventures when not logged in is nice. My only gripe is that the retainers won't level up through the app, you have to log in for them to level up. I haven't used any other feature of the app yet.

The app is great in concept but essentially useless unless a lot of extra money is spent by the user. Not happening when I already pay $15/month. You get 1 kupo nut per day, but can only carry a maximum of two. As even base subscribers can have up to 40 items listed on the market, the nut limit is just too low and mog coin cost is too high. Monetizing convenience is one thing, but this app is clearly designed to fish for market whales.

Kind of pointless in it's current state. While it has small things that can be considered helpful, the app's insistence on microtransactions make it not worthwhile. You already need a subscription to the game to even use the app in the first place, so having to pay to reliably use the features you are downloading the app for in the first place is a turn off.
