More About BM2

Battery Monitor BLE is an application for car battery monitoring, which can monitor the real-time voltage of the car battery; count the historical voltage of the battery; it can automatically test the battery startup voltage, and support idle and high-speed charging tests. All data is synced to the mobile app via Bluetooth.
And provides a Wear OS version, with functions including: displaying device data, battery test data, startup test data and charging test data on the Wear side through communication with the mobile phone BM2.

Update. I tried the iphone version. Works great. Android. No + Shows static battery voltage + Shows trip data. Not always accurate. - Drops Cranking Voltage data, I.e. shows 0.0V - Auto selects from multiple devices based on BLE signal. Would help if you could manually select a device and have the app use just that one. - Not fit for purpose - Allegedly works better on Apple but you're not told that before purchase. Much better to wire in a proper battery monitor that gives cranking voltage.

Started out great but with each new update the Bluetooth connection gets worse and now it won't hardly stay connected more than a few minutes

A good app and device. But there's now way I'm going to give it the permission for precise location all the time. I should be able to periodically connect and check the status.

I agree with others. The app needs attention to get the calculations correct. It also needs a way to enter in maximum voltage and then the app needs to adjust the visual scales and calculate off that. Some systems max at 12.8 while others max at 13.8. Limiting it to just 12.0 makes this useless. Get this right and you might sell more. It says it works with 6-20 volt. Need a way to enter that voltage for proper calculation.

The app and it' graphing characteristics work great however I find it very annoying that You cannot Check your battery unless You allow GPS Location and access to your contacts to me that's a game changer and makes this nothing more than an funtionally ok battery monitor but a huge privicy/data miner. Like a flashlight app that needs access to yuor personal data to trun on the phones built in light!!! "TOTAL BS" Sorry I would rate this a 4~5 without the privicy breach.

Edit 11/15/19: good app, easy to install and connect. Very few issues, one is the app stays open ALL THE TIME and you have to force stop it for it to close. Also the range on it is not all that great, would be cool to be able to be in the house and can check the battery status.

Works great with my Lithium batteries in my Jeep. I removed the battery under the hood and have 2 45ah batteries in the spare tire well. I have a 10k watt RMS build so I can easily keep an eye on my battery condition and charging system. Displays voltage and battery capacity. Just have to be within Bluetooth range and I immediately get a notification of the remaining battery capacity. Will also keep records of voltage drops and increases.

Love this app! As others have said, wish we could select battery type. I am using this in my camper van and would love to be able to set alerts that my battery is low, and the percentages here are meaningless if you have AGM batteries. At a minimum, it would be great to set alerts on voltage rather than percentage, i.e. alert when voltage drops below 12.0V.

Could be greatly improved with the option to export and zoom in on graphs. If you stream audio, the battery data does not record. Would be nice if the unit would continue to record and then upload when possible. I don't have this issue if I'm not streaming audio for some reason.

I *STILL* have to uninstall this app to get it to stop running in the background. I don't want notifications or monitoring - I just want to periodically check in on it, and the device stores historic data onboard that's downloaded when the app opens next. When I back out of the app (to say "close, stop, cease operation, disconnect"), it defiantly pops up a permanent notification informing me that it's refusing to close down. So I always have to uninstall it to close it! JUST LET ME EXIT IT.

The app does well enough with monitoring battery charging and cranking. I like it for that. My complaint is there is no way to shut the app down without force closing it. I have this battery monitor installed on one vehicle that is not driven frequently. I don't need the app always running when I'm not caring to check or even drive the vehicle daily. Give me a proper option to exit the app when I'm done using it for some time.

It's a very handy tool for the diagnosis of battery and electrical system problems. A suggestion to the developers. Make the "charging test" function regardless of the initial voltage value. For example, while my car running, my alternator is putting out 13 volts. After starting the charging test, the app reports the car is not running, which it is, and won't allow me to proceed to the high rpm portion of the test. I would like the test to function regardless of the low speed test results.

(Edited 3-9-20) There are multiple issues. First, the advice the developer keeps posting here does not keep the app from repeatedly popping up. It periodically restarts, I think maybe if it sees it's in Bluetooth range of the sensor. It can be Force Stopped in the Apps setting, but eventually it pops up again! And there's no way to remove the notification except killing the app manually. Other problems: There is no way to export the data. When the app is started, if you don't notice that it says "UnConnect" in small letters at the top, you may think the displayed status and animated voltage are real time - but they're not, they're old data until it connects.

I'm happy with the Bluetooth range (~30ft), the information presented, the UI, etc. This monitor and app have been great for my travel trailer. I do recommend the device and app. Minus 2 stars because the app has to be manually forced closed. That's become pretty annoying! Fix that and allow export of the log data to excel and this would be a six star setup.

You're missing out if you don't have this device and app for car audio enthusiasts! It would be nice to be able to switch batteries in the app instead of doing into settings to switch. I run 2 AGM batteries and I would like to be able to see both. I do have a device on each battery. They are labeled front and back, but I can't switch easily. They should both be displayed if you have more than 1 device. Awesome work!

This needs a function to export data, which is very helpful when getting warranty replacement on a weak battery. Also, if you have multiple sensors, the app keeps changing to the sensor with the strongest bluetooth signal. It needs to stay on the chosen device until the user changes it. It would also be handy to have a quick device selection on the main screen, rather than having to go into settings to switch devices every time.

Very accurate measure of current (pun intended) voltage across battery terminals; works while off, idle, running perfectly. Good for keeping tabs on battery while vehicle is laid up for few days during winter etc. Have cross checked the reading with a direct multi-meter and confirm it is usually within ~0.02v. Improvements; I'd suggest having main screen work in landscape mode also, a feature to toggle screen stay on, an maybe ability to scale the voltage axis on screen to more precise values.

It WAS great. Bought it. Installed it. Connected it. No problems, worked great. I just got a new Android ( version 10) and it will NOT connect. My phone is discoverable, Bluetooth is on. Still will NOT connect. I Uninstalled and reinstalled the app. It still won't work. I really liked it when it did work. Anyone out there that can help?

I have two of these, one on my travel trailer and one on my truck camper. They are great for monitoring overall battery health and letting me know when my solar charging is working. Are they the most technically accurate? Probably not, but for my needs, they were working great. I say WERE working because since the Android 10 update, the app no longer connects to the devices. I was just on a week long camping trip and missed the functionality I paid for with the hardware. I hope this gets updated ASAP.

I tell you what for $20 you sure get alot of very useful features/information about your batteries, i own 2 of these 1 for each vehicle & i know my voltage is a bit low to hit the remote start & let it charge up also i compete in car audio so it helps to know the current voltage accurately & these are very close... Wish I was able to display both batts at once not have to go back & forth between them if I could suggest any additional features that'd be the only thing I'd improve... A+++
