As someone with a learning disability, this program genuinely does a very good job at breaking down the language into consumable pieces that don't assume prior knowledge. The built in dictionary is especially helpful. Also highly recommend using a drawing pad if you can, it really helps with remembering the characters.

With this app you can learn at your own pace, play fun games, even collect manga pages all while improving your japanese skill. Its very cute and educational at the same time, the bite sized lessons make it easy to digest and the motivators such as the gacha system where you can collect little coins make me more likely to come back again and again to keep learning. I never knew learning a language as difficult as japanese could be entertaining. I would definitely recommend this app. 👍👍👍

for all the apps out there to help you learn and retain language, Japanese has been so frustratingly difficult. But this app is not only cute but incredibly good at honing in on what you need and expand your knowledge even if you are just beginning ! Hiragana, Katakana, Kanji, vocabulary, sentence structure in all configurations really make renshuu stand apart from other apps

has been a brilliant help to understanding the characters of all alphabets involved, can wrap my head around when and how to use the characters within in words and theres so much support along the way so it can be community supported or solo learning or a mix of both. I love the feature with the individual characters for all the ways to know it, written, sounds, in context, memory recall devices etc. the wee cartoons beings are so cute too, I like this app alot. def recommend ☺️

i only started yesterday, and i already know most of hiragana!! the studying options helped me a lot, and the addition of being able to see a mnemonic to remember it is so smart!! this app makes it much more fun to learn japanese than standard popular options, and i recommend it to anybody who is interested in learning some japanese. i am honestly addicted to this app, and i can say you probably will be, too. the app is also completely functional, and i have never encountered a bug or issue.

Since I started studying the Japanese language last year, I've tried many apps to supplement my book learning, and, by far, renshuu is the best one I've used. It has everything I could want, and it does all of those things well. The free lessons are great, and the additional material you gain access to with renshuu pro are well worth the price. I have been using Renshuu to learn how to read, write, and accurately listen to Japanese. When referring to true Japanese people, and content influencers, All information really seems to be consistent and fluent! My mother is also using it to learn how to speak it, and it is going very well. Easy to use, Easy to understand, And you can always learn from the beginning whenever you want! Pro is also very helpful, in my case, as it assists in my fast pace :) 10/10 would learn again! (and still am)

I wanted so badly to like this app! It's cute, it's teaching immediate Kanji, it's got a LOT of free content... But it's just unusable! There's no structure to the lessons; they don't seem to go together or be in an "order" at all. The UI is extremely cluttered and hard to use. The weird tid-bits of text ALL over explaining how the cluttered UI works is not helpful! To the developer, I am genuine with this offer: I will help you fix the UI and make this app a dynamo if you contact me.

Great Japanese learning app! Has lots of things to keep you motived to play and in the same time teaches you. Depending on how good you are in Japanese they will find a good spot for you to start at. But the reason why I give this a 4 stars is because of the amount of time it takes for things to load. This isn't long for example, it can take 30 seconds to load. And another reason is because there's almost to no little sound in the app. This would make the game a lot better. Please add sound.ty😁

using this as my primary learning app; i love how simple it is (very accessible for me, alot of clutter or tabs without explaination makes it harder for me to use things) and the little buttons to hear, write, and learn a mnemonic for each letter (multiple options! user submitted!!!) makes it very easy. i love the way you cant just plow through it all at once, either, you only get to learn so much at a time!

I have dabbled with many different apps to try to learn Kanji. This is hands down the best app I've found so far. The variety of instruction, games, videos, community, etc, keeps learning interesting. Also, the highly customizable pacing and difficulty makes this ideal for users of all ability levels. I can't say enough good things about renshuu.

Coming from other similar language apps this one has so much more to offer and has so much charm. I have only been using the app for about a week now with very little japanese language knowledge beforehand and it's been very useful. I love the amount of customization with studying and the quizzes. There's a ton of resources such as: grammar breakdown, huge dictionary, the user made mnemonics, daily quests, several games, a reading buddy, text analyzer, and all the cute art. Check it out!

Honestly a pretty cute app that teaches you the basics of the japanese language and alphabetical system. It doesn't lie to you like 90% of language learning apps that claim you'll be fluent in a year and it does do a great job letting you learn at your own pace. I like the correction system on tests and the word review system. The little... bird ...(it hatched out of an egg) is also pretty cute and I like the free gotcha system with unique words. This is all 100% free with no adds or purchases.

Super cute app. I love the aesthetics of it!! And the little virtual collectibles after you complete a lesson. Not only that, but it's very good with helping me learn Japanese. I tend to lose advice, but Renshuu teaches it in a more simplified but efficient way. I often procrastinate and don't have a lot of motivation/time to study Japanese 😭 But with how simple, quick, and informative this is, I get to learn at least a little bit each day. Great app!! Would def recommend to Japanese learners.

As an absolute beginner, the introductory courses and reviews on this app are fantastic! It teaches you batches of letters with pronunciation guides, mnemonics, and correct stroke order. Then you can review and quiz yourself, and it reinforces anything you answer wrong. I'm someone who needs structured lessons, and this app does them perfectly for me in bite-sized amounts. Very easy to use for beginners :)

I randomly stumbled across renshuu about two days ago, and I already really like it. The atmosphere of the app is less of "learning" and more of "playing" while also maintaining thorough explanations and examples of the language for the purpose of learning. It's very interactive and engaging, and the drawings are all VERY cute. All in all, I honestly believe that it's better than Duolingo's Japanese course on many levels. Thank you, renshuu team!

I've been enjoying using this app to learn Japanese. It's very easy to use and learn. The art is cute too. My favorite feature here is that I can practice drawing the consonants when learning hiragana(at the moment). Also, the staff are super quick to respond to you if you have an issue! That's really great for a 2 person team. Thank you again, Michael, for your help!

Just starting on my learning journey of this beautiful language, at a point where I needed more study options. Found renshuu and it has been very helpful in producing improvements. The sentences range from beginner to more advanced and it encourages vocabulary and listening skills. I also love the easy to use dictionary. Highly recommended for anyone looking to improve. Oh, and friendly devs, a definite plus.

I heard of renshuu from a friend of mine when I mentioned I wanted to learn hiragana just for fun. Turns out this app not only helps you to learn to recognize characters but also write them, teaches basic vocabulary, and much much more. It's also suitable for beginners with 0 experience and it's free. All in all, this is a 5 star top tier app for starting out with Japanese.

In the past I have relied on countless separate apps to study grammar, vocabulary, kanji stroke order, and pitch accent. Renshuu streamlines all of this into one easy-to-use, gamified study tool that's constantly expanding. Even if you already have a set study routine, it may be worth joining to play some Shiritori, or for access to the questions board.
