A really unique beautiful game. I've never played anything quite like it. Player slowly unravels Alex's story through dialog that you actually get to partake in. Lots of twists and unexpected things. And of course I can't lie, some parts made me tear up. The loading times are a bit long but honestly not abysmal and definetly worth it. The flow of conversation and the fact that you get to choose what Alex says or whether she says anything at all makes this game super immersive.

I had no audio. Checked volume settings, that wasn't it. Thought maybe it was my headphones, so I changed to a different pair, then tried no headphones. Then I thought maybe I needed to restart my phone. Nothing ever helped. With volume turned all the way up, I could just barely hear the tinyest of sounds from the game. By all accounts, audio is really important to the game. Wish I could've actually tried it.

I played Oxenfree on pc first and it was already one of my favorite narrative games. A little adventure, a little drama, and a little spooky. Beautiful art and music as well as a compelling story with interesting endings (make sure to play a second time). The move to phone was effective. Some of the features (ie. Radio) I even found easier than on pc.

Make sure you play this with reliable wifi for the two additional data downloads. I lost dialogue for one chapter (after messing up the first upload,) but the game fixed itself after that. I played because the game x2, because it loops, just like how time does in the game. The second+ run(s) has cool differemces as your character, Alex, begins to get some serious déjà vu from your first run through. There are some challenging parts, but Google is your friend.

Would rate higher because so far I love the game but as soon as I start the save ren portion all dialogue stops, I still get response options but I have no idea what's being said. Even the captions disappeared. Please fix this because I really hate the idea that I'm missing out on potentially important conversation choices to impact the outcome of the game. Edit: I bought the game on Xbox and absolutely love it just wish I could play it on mobile too

I love these kind of stories, BUT there's like 2 problems with this game, that I've encountered. Yesterday, after I finish each chapter I have to close out of the game & restart it again to be able to play the next chapter. Today, i click on the app & once it gets to the black screen with OXENFREE on the bottom right corner...nothing happens. it just stays on that screen the whole time. I can't even play the game anymore 😞😩.

Really disappointed, i loved oxenfree and at first this was dead on, but after the very first transition the sound stopped working. After some research i found a lot of people experienced it. I tried to play through but another glitch made continuing impossible, and apparently a lot of people experienced it too! For months! Someone reported it and was told they had fixed it, only to hop on and find it obviously isn't.

Love the art style. Great storyline that's based on your responses to conversations/ actions. Controls are simple (tap or tap and drag to move), but the tap and drag option could be smoother/faster/higher touch sensitivity. Map is cute (with current obj. as notes), but would benefit from more zoom options for those with difficulty reading small letter. Definitely a semi-quick game worth playing (finished in about 5.5 hours).

The game is easy to play, but dialog options cut off too soon or time out while you're reading the conversion. It's annoying that you have to move to a new area to save progress. But the big issue I'm having is that the game keeps crashing and not letting me progress. I've played the bomb shelter scene at least 7 times and when I try to go through the blast door the game crashes. Really annoying because the plot is so good!

I really enjoyed this game but I wish there were a few tweaks. Like the option to lower the background music it makes it hard to hear the voice lines. You also get stuck a lot when walking around, you have to go backwards and unstuck yourself in certain corners etc. Also to fast travel to different areas and got back and replay the game by picking a chapter point. Other than that this game was a delight.

I LOVE THIS GAME SO MUCH!! It has such an immersive story, the dialogue, the graphics, it has plenty of play time too! I see that other people had issues with the cave, it takes a little while to load and the first time it didnt let me move after a certain point but I didnt have a problem with it after restarting that part, absolutely amazing and thank you to the developers! (Btw it saves by map locations so dont leave before you are done with that section or you have to restart the entire part)

*Update* The game is cute, and the story is great, BUT since the moment the game had to download additional content, I couldn't hear personages, even myself, or read the subtitles. So I missed all the storylines after that. It's horrible. Update: I couldn't finished the game. On the last part of the game always the game exit and I couldn't continue. terrible fix this

I love this game, but it really has some issues. Every time the game loads into a new area, it has to kick me off the game and I end up having to reopen and restart the game from the new area, which is really annoying considering there's so many areas in this game. I gave up after meeting up with Clarissa and Mona the first time and just got it on Xbox. If anyone at Netflix sees this, PLEASE make this game Free for Netflix Subscribers on other platforms besides mobile so we can still play it.

Had it for about a day. It was really fun at first but after the 1st part of the story it needed to download another file. To be expected but it was very slow (could be my fault) it downloaded only to find out I couldn't see the dialogue I could respond to the other characters but had no idea what they were saying. (Tried restarting app, phone, etc). Then I finished the part and was taken to another additional download...

I'll reiterate what others have said: there are technical issues with this version of the game. The story is cool, but the load times and occasional need to restart make it hard to play. And an important note: this is basically unplayable offline. I downloaded it before getting on a airplane, and I could only go about 25 minutes before the game needed to download additional content. Very frustrating when you're stuck on a 3 hour flight... It's worth it to just buy this on Steam instead.

It's an interesting game, and the little bit I did play, I enjoyed. However, loading times are abysmal. While it saves automatically after each check point, you can't save your place on your own. If you exit game before the save, you have to restart the chapter. It needs to download additional content to progress further, but somehow I've been stuck at 7.63% for 3 days

This game is super fun, I finished in 2 days. No big tech bugs-loading is slow. The only reason this didn't get 5 stars is because of how it saves. There's a number of "chapters" in the game, and if you exit the game when you're NOT at a chapter break it doesn't save and you have to redo. This happened once while I was very close to the end of the chapter and it was really frustrating. I wish there was a way to save wherever you are. Still going to play again for alternate endings though!

Sadly, I changed my 5☆ rating to 3☆. When I first started playing Oxenfree it was awesome! Graphics are great. Story is immersive. I was really getting into gameplay, and then the audio stopped working. I couldn't hear what characters were saying. I tried reinstalling the game, but that didn't work. I really want to play this game, I hope the audio gets fixed.

I loved the game until i got past the cave. The main character and her step brother ended up at the towery woods. Then, it stopped showing or saying anything the step brother said. It just showed options for me to reply even with not knowing what he was saying. No sounds or captions were shown when i talked either, it only showed options to choose from. I assumed maybe it was glitching and wasn't loaded right so i got out and got back in and it wasn't fixed. I restarted my progress, same thing.

This game is great! And so cozy! I love the voice acting! It's like a choose your own adventure movie with really good atmospheric vibes. And pretty easy controls. Not sure why there's so many low votes but honestly didn't expect it to be so good and immersive. Edit- After reading, I see some people were having issues. It seems to be fixed now! I'm afte the caves and everything is working just fine. Also download speeds weren't crazy long or anything.
