Been playing for years but a recent update made interacting with the camera almost unusable. Trying to feed a Buddy doesn't work because the camera will almost never detect a flat surface unless it's a solid color and covers the entire screen, and then the Buddy will just glide away even when you aren't moving making it impossible to feed them. Before this you could just pull them up immediately but now it's too much of a hassle to do.

Been playing since week 1 on and off. Would highly recommend it if the game just worked. Lately though, the touchscreen will randomly not work. No amount of waiting or restarting will help. Check back in a few hours and maybe it's good again, maybe it's not. Some searching shows it's a fairly common glitch that just popped up the last update.

Originally, this review was bad talking the avatars, but it's gotten even worse. Most of the time, I need to try to open the app multiple times since it doesn't let me touch the screen. In addition to bugs, now the performance is far worse, even with native refresh rate, a ton of lower end phones can barely even run the game, and trying to hit even great throws is near impossible. This game needs fixed and optimization, but don't worry! there's gonna make another event for Kanto!

The game crashes very often, often triggered, in my experience, by interacting with gyms, spinning discs, starting fights with team rocket or other players. The list goes on but those cause most of the crashes. And for a company that emphasizes diversity, the character customization really doesn't make much sense, why can we only choose from 7 preset faces. And for a simple game, consisting of a map texture and no more than 3-4 models at a time, the loading time is atrocious.

This game feels as buggy and glitchy as it did when it first came out 8 years ago. The game will freeze at seemingly random times and need to be reset. They recently added an update that was supposed to up the graphics quality (it looks the same), but only served to make the game even more poorly optimized leading to more problems. This is one of those games I play, but would not recommend to other people.

It's a very awesome game, I play it just about every day (either in the evening or night). Except for only one problem, the battery on my phone was 85% before playing for ~10-15 minutes. Then, after those 10-15 minutes, I went to check & it was at 27%... (Not sure, though, but it could've been from the location service) The battery drainage problem needs help fixing ASAP. Otherwise, you guys nailed everything else on the game. Thanks a bunch.

The game worked fine up until recently, if you ignored the lag spikes while playing the battle league and issues with the raids, but now it's a nightmare to play any part of the game. The battle league is far more laggy now than it was before. Now every single match has lagging issues causing attacks to miss. Even the main part of the game has issues with the game stopping for a few seconds frequently and the price of some items going up. I can't keep trying to play when it doesn't work properly

I want to give it 5 stars. I've played multiple times since it came out but always lost interest. This time around, I needed a reason to go outside for walks; I'm going through a lot & this gives me something innocent 2 look forward 2. I've been playing for 2 months, & the "freeze/lock" glitch is breaking the game (along w many other things). I restart my phone, reset the app, reinstall, turn off/on location, sign out/back in2 my account, yet when I launch the app, I can't interact w anything.

So it's nice that they keep updating the game and keep adding pokémon. But with the constant updates there's also constant problems. Constant frame drops and crashing creates frustration when you can't catch anything. The new avatar customization seemed cool, at first... BUT everything looks bad, there is clipping, stretching, your poke pals look awkward when framed with the new model. It feels like a step back. Maybe next time don't trust a "consultant" that has multiple misconduit allegations.

Great Game! I have played for a long time, great way to get out of the house Unfortunately, after the most recent update, it isn't loading correctly It loads correctly the first time, no problem The second time, it was frozen & it didn't let me tap on anything I had to restart my phone each time this has happened, it works the first time, & then it freezes after I load the app This has been happening consistently I don't want to miss events Please fix this! Thank you! If it gets fixed, 5 stars!

Game keeps freezing. I have it updated, but sometimes when I open the game I can't move or interact with anything. I have to uninstall the game and reinstall it for it to work properly. Very glitchy during go battle league matches. Usually it freezes for a half second during online battles, just long enough for my opponent to get extra fast moves in. I have a great and stable wifi connection. Very disappointed in the game recently. Ever since the graphic updated it's been bad.

I've been playing this game for a few years now, and I love it. I even liked the expanded avatar customization. However, the game is no longer playable. It crashes immediately after loading (on a year-old phone), and nothing fixes it. I've restarted my phone, cleared the cache, reinstalled, moved it from the SD card to the phone... nothing. It simply crashes no matter what. So until this is fixed, I have to lower my rating.

Me: Please give us the option of turning off the new "enhanced" graphics and environments so my phone can actually play your game like it used to. Niantic: Best I can do is pixelated textures. Keep optimizing. I can see some improvement in performance, but textures still look like SNES spirits (they used to look normal on this phone), and there's STILL no option to turn off the new environments. Catching is still a chore, and the game still crashes often. The improvements are extremely minor.

A very buggy experience. As of now there seems to be an issue where touch inputs are not being registered. This is true after restarting the phone and app. Edit: a complete reinstall fixes this but having doubts for future stability. Additionally AR isn't how it was when the game first came out, it now requires scanning before seeing Pokemon blend in the wild. In the end, the AR feature is better switched off just to save the user's time. I can't say I would recommend based on this

Fun game, new features constantly. But that's the problem too. With each new feature added, current ones get broken. Promised features don't always work correctly and even when they report a bug being fixed doesn't always mean it's fixed. With all the money Niantic makes off this game they should be able to keep up with the bugs. Current bug is the game loads fine, but is frozen once it loads. All you can do is look at the current screen.

Tons of bugs, lots of lag, many inefficiencies. One of the worst things is the amount of white flashes and lack of dark mode. For a game meant to be played on the go, however, the most aggravating thing is how long it takes to do things. Sometimes you can skip through certain text, other times you must wait for the list to finish it's sequence before moving on. When walking with an incense on, for example, you must stop walking for every encounter if you want to catch every Pokemon you see.

Been playing for years, and the features of the game (+ the gameplay itself) have gradually improved over time. I like playing it to pass the time and collect different pokemon. However, as of late, my game has been suffering from a bizarre bug that does not allow me to interact with any prompts or menus, as if it does not detect me tapping on the screen. It is not a device issue, since other games I own are functioning just fine without this type of issue. Requestion developer assistance?
