More About Death Road to Canada

Death Road to Canada is a Randomly Generated Road Trip Action-RPG. You manage a group of jerks as they explore cities, find weird people, and face up to 500 zombies at once. Everything's randomized: locations, events, survivor personalities and skills. There's a different story every time you play.
Travel the Death Road from Florida to Canada, the last nation on Earth. Find special events, rare encounters, and unique recruits. Recruit a grunting super-bodybuilder who's strong enough to pick up and throw the car. Try to teach a dog how to walk upright and shoot a minigun.

Most of all, get eaten by enormous hordes of slow, classic-style zombies.

*NOTE* A controller is required for the Android TV version.

I haven't found many games with the same replayability and intuitive humor put into it by its devs as DR2C. It's a twist on Oregon Trail with a tactical/smash-it-up 2D aspect to it. Intense character customization, randomness (as well as RNG playing a factor), and jokes that show that actual thought was put into the content creation of the game all prove its wotth (even at full price). Controller support is excellent, but I have played with the touch controls before with no major complaints.

I keep seeing everyone comment about this gaming needing controller support when it already does! I've used my PlayStation, Xbox and mobile controller to play this game and each time it works fine. The game itself is fantastic and a fun way to kill a couple hours. I really enjoy the rare characters mode, lots of interesting and unique characters in this game. I do think though that a multiplayer aspect should be incorporated, preferably through a link code and not two people on the same device.

I was hooked on first try, it doesn't let you save like OG arcade, creativity is good, I also hate it because: - once you die you can't even keep anything, except learning and zombie point, but it's only for one skill per role, I wish you can also keep weapon in trunk. - I always rob the trader because the trade is rarely worth it. 15 food for ammo? - why can we carry dead teammates body if we can't save them - I wish it tell you more tips on how durable/strong a weapon

Overall is very fun. I get crashes quite frequent on Samsung Galaxy note 20. A little annoying (hence the -1 star) but can start back up at same place. Would be great if more character classes could be added. Maybe simple classes with unique powers? Of course the game still needs balanced with tradeoffs, but simple shooting and wacking loses its luster after a while.

I like the concept of the game a lot, it just doesnt work quite well on mobile. The joy stick keeps unselecting while im trying to move, makes it difficult when in the middle of a zombie hoard. Then theres the issue of characters wanting to not turn around when you want them to face somewhere. Can go crazy with the joystick and they just wont turn around after a couple of times. The game is very difficult, but I like the challenge.

Mostly good, but there's a glitch for multiplayer. If you try to set up multiple controllers for local multiplayer, all players are controlled by player 1 controller. It's not even possible to map multiple controllers because the game reads them all at the same input. Other games like Crush Your Enemies, Bombsquad, and Badlands seem to work just fine with multiple inputs. Hopefully can be patched in a future version.

One of my favorites to jam on, I always come back to it not matrer how long it's been and I'm always satisfied. Plays well and the controls are super great, just get yourself a controller and quit complaining about the touch controls. Even without a controller it's a great game, ignore the silly spoiled twits complaining about "horrible controls" they know nothing.

Seems like a good game.. Like it could be really good.. But there NO PLACE for on screen D-PAD controls in a touch screen world! Especially in a frenetic fast paced action shooter. You should be able to just tap on a spot to walk or shoot. Until phones come with built thumb pads, please optimise the controls for tapping and swiping... So yeah, other than that it's great.

This game is the kind of game that you don't really finish. You just keep attempting to do better. I have played for a few hours, many restarts and there is so much in here to unpack and try to get better at. Fun graphics, great sound, like the variety of weapons and the choices you get to make. It's like Oregon trail, mixed with hotline miami, mixed with diablo and Stranger things?? It's a really great mixture. i got it here instead of steam because it uses a bluetooth gamepad, and allegedly the game is the same on android as pc and it was .99 cents.. So no brainier there Rock on, thank you devs!

TLDR; Great variety, loads of customization, Difficulty Setting are good. Actual Review: You'll probably see reviews from people not actually used to mobile controls in general, but for those who are used to mobile gaming, this game plays like a dream! With how low maintenance the game is, you'll barely, if ever, experience lag, along with tons of weapons and survivors to find, with each win unlocking a new mode and difficulty.

Great retro graphics and hooooly mother of Gods is it addictive. I was a little hesitant to buy this, but finally decided to because it was on sale. Boy am I glad I did. It supports Bluetooth controller and works flawlessly with it. Not only are the graphics there are surprise characters including a few that, in movies you might fear if you met, but would be great in a zombie apocalypse as long as they're happy. Worth the asking price. Very entertaining. Even if you die a lot lol.

Its well enough made that I can enjoy it but the movement controls are absolutely horrible and renders it almost unplayable the further you get. I'm constantly fighting doorways and walls and can't even get past the basic campaign because of it. Otherwise it's a good time killer. Fix the movement controls and I'll rate 5 or I can't really see myself coming back for more in the long run.

I mean, what is there to say... you're a bunch of pixelated characters killing zombies... it doesn't get any better. That said, I feel like what this could use, is some kind of survival mode, where instead of traveling to Canada, you're placed in a town that gradually gets more and more crowded until you lose. Kind of a like... Zombies match on COD, just round after round with whomever you want or build and see how far you'll last with limited randomized supplies. Otherwise 10 out of 10 game.

A fun humerous take on the old oregon trail gameolay, but with more variety in characters and events. Main downside for me are the virtual joystick controls. There are options to tweak control settings but character movement is very floaty and slow to change direction. If you can play with an actual controller you'll have a better time. Even without its still manageable and quite a fun game.

this is a one of a kind AMAZING game! there is still so much potential. I will list a couple of things I would like to see in later updates. 1. multiplayer, I would like it if you could play with a friend if they had it on their mobile device, and they could mix with their characters. 2. it would be really cool if they added a couple of bosses in this game, we could have a separate mode for bosses like "boss mode" or something like that. 3. I would like more customization with our characters, and maybe we could find exclusive things as we play the game, and just be able to find different customization in shops while we're looting. 4. I would like to be able to craft and make new weapons by combining different weapons, it would be cool to be able to see in your own car too and be able to customize things inside, maybe you could find posters and stuff to put in your car while you're looting. maybe we could also make food by combining food but it would make us more full. I see all the updates you guys do and I really like that you're very active on this game too, which is something I like about this game too. so these were some of my ideas, thanks for reading this review, and just think about my recommendations and see if they'd be a good idea. I also don't get why this game isn't more popular it's just so good. so please just think about my ideas and that would be great:D I also have another thing so this is an edit: I wish choices mattered more. so for example one could be that you turned down someone and didn't accept them into the group, then maybe later in the game they would have a whole team of bandits and you would have to fight them. so that would make the choices matter more and it would be a more memorable story with making memorable friends and enemies, it would be cool too if sometimes there would be bandits while you're looting stuff too, so it wouldn't be just zombies. edit: also minigames would be cool, and so would sidequests that occur between other people from outside your group and sidequests from within your group members. keep up the great work guys.

This game has the potential to be an absolutely fantastic one. The graphics are awesome for pixelated characters, there's a huge amount of variety in both weapons and scenarios, and smashing zombies is downright fun. A few caveats though. Absolutely god-awful controls. Somehow the game gives you a ton of information but none of it really helps. And towards the end it starts to feel really cheap and I feel suckered instead of like I need to "git gud". Not bad for killing time I suppose

Has so much content, and Idk what people mean when they say the controls are trash, I think they have no issues. Along with the difficulty, it is a decently hard game ngl. But that's the fun part, the challenge. Along with every run being different, with many different unique characters, locations, and weapons. Only thing is if you uninstall the game it will delete ur data and unlocks, so until they add a cloud save option and want to save your progress, don't uninstall it. Love this game tho

I've owned the game for a few weeks, and love it. I've heard so many complaints about how bad the controls are, but have never had any struggles with them, they just come naturally. As far as replayability goes, the game deserves 6 stars. I am a huge fan of pixelated games and just love the art styles. I also really like the idea of learning more and more about the game through each playthrough.

This is rough bc you can tell this game is so creative and would be amazing with a controller/keyboard, but the touch controls feel absolutely awful. The joystick is glitchy and unreliable. The action buttons are small and awkwardly placed, making it difficult to do simple things like pick up objects on the run. Aiming is horrendous, as this is obviously meant to be a twin stick shooter, but it aims the direction you walk. Please do yourself a favor and buy this game on a console...

Idk if this game is necessary worth $$, but... Nevermind, it is definitely worth it! It is VERY interesting, fun, and is quite detailed. Easy? No such thing. Random pop ups, SO many weapons, SO many locations, people, and I won't spoil anything, but ALL SORTS of unique characters!!! Absolutely beautiful with great sound effects and the music... MMH. So worth it! BY THE WAY, the CONTROLS... Perfect. Maybe it should have a joystick option, but whatever, I love the controls. Just get it and enjoy!
