Incredible. I found it had a bit of a steep learning curve with a lot of keywords/mechanics to learn, but once I got past that this game quickly became my absolute favorite. There's a huge variety of strategies, it runs great, and the monetization model (all cards and mechanics are available from the start, only new areas are paid) means there's a ton of fun to be had without any dlc! Highly, highly recommend this game.

This should be the absolute gold standard for mobile games. What the devs have here is incredible down to the smallest details. The art and sound are fantastic, the gameplay is addictive and fun and easy to learn, but also challenging. YOU CAN PLAY IN PORTRAIT MODE. That's huge for me, as for some reason I hate turning my phone sideways to play games. There are no predatory microtransactions, just optional DLC that are like $5 each. The game is 100% playable without them. Thank you Wanderlost!

One of the best games I have played on phone, love that they release some new cards and talents for free and not have all updates behind a pay wall. The variation of deck types and theme per class is quite a bit and keeps it interesting, and I love that different classes get different interactions with events. Update 2/28/24 Still playing as loving it!! They have continued to add new content both paid level DLCs and also lots of new cards got free! A hidden gem and so under rated.

This used to be fun to play until all the fun was gradually removed in the name of 'balanced play'. Now everything is basically the same. Even legendary cards are barely different than regular cards. And all the class powers/weapons have been neutered. The most fun I ever had was when they accidentally released a bug that gave players a lot of money for a week. I could actually try a lot of different things you can't do normally and play how I wanted to play. It was a blast. Not anymore.

*Heads up for new players* when starting a new game, disable all but the core set decks for possible card pools. The expansions seem to be oriented towards leveled up or unlocked classes / builds and many of the cards are almost unusable initially. Once I realized that imbalance, I stopped dying to the first boss (after 6 miserable runs) and turned what would have been a middling 2-3* review into quite the glowing 5*.

This is a very well thought out game. It has a ton of content and replayability. I played deck builders before and I kind of new I liked the genre. This game took showed me how great a deck builder can be. I've been playing for a couple of months now, and I still haven't explored all the possible builds. I like the progression system, the story mode and the gauntlet mode. I'd like to say "very well done" to the developers.

So I've only played it a bit, but I'm enjoying it so far. Lot of cool tactics, lot of cool combos and play styles. Pretty dense strategy system. Which brings me to the issue: can we get an in-game glossary? The hyperlinks are great, but then you have the tide cards, which have no info or tell how they work or what tide it is, and on the card you get the hyperlinks, but there is a whole back of the card with it's own keywords and no way to check them or the energy cost for that matter.

Absolutely love this, it has so much content and replayability that's it's baffling to find something like this strictly as a mobile game. I do have one minor point of critique though - coming from other card games, such as MTG, it's not very intuitive in terms of key words and synergies, and sometimes feels a bit inconsistent. Some keywords don't work in places where you'd assume they would (for example Reliable on Scholar cards) and some work in other surprising places. But that's minor.

fun game, fun mechanics. Has some good replayability. The biggest problem with this game is that it takes FOREVER to get permanent upgrades. Way more than any other Roguelike or Roguelite. I get that they want to make money, but I paid $5 for the game and I'd like to see at least some sort of regular progression to keep it interesting. Aside from that there are a few enemies that can randomly end a very good run, which makes some of the more interesting combos not very fun to play.

BAD exp. Game is all over the place with inconsistency. Not challenging when you completely and utterly take control of the player's hand. Why does anyone need decision-making skills if the AI is basically making all the decisions for you and controlling everything in BOTH hands? Insanely slow grind with very little reward for your work. Beat it on normal mode while trying to learn it and got 27 points to spend, where anything of value is from 50 to 125 points? Cards don't half work. Wasted$$$!

I downloaded this app years ago and to date it's probably my most played mobile game. It's easy to pick up and put down, it has amazing depth and strategy, and the replayability is obviously top notch. They did change some of how the custom class stuff worked which I found a little jarring but if I could only have one game on my phone it would be this one. Quality content worth supporting.

I actually love this game. But after a recent update all my class related experience was erased (all class ranks now 1 - before most were close to 30) and now my classes won't gain any experience from doing runs. I've tried redownloading, but it hasn't helped. Anyways I would recommend, but not if you can't rank up characters because it removes all the fun of progression.

Great game. Live how it's so easy to pick up and go, so, and then continue again. I do struggle with the way cards and rules change so often. There's also frequent bugs or mechanics that are instantly game ending which can be frustrating.

I really loved slay the spire. However, this game has been more fun to me. It almost feels like Diablo meets StS? Either way, I haven't been this addicted to a game in a very long time. Especially a mobile game. Do what everyone says, disable all cards but the core set and play each character this way. I accidentally jumped into the Sunforge and was quickly overwhelmed having to read every card thoroughly. Just stick to the main storyline for a while and disable the other cards :)

Probably one of the best card games on mobile! Story is pretty cool and the mechanics are pretty interesting when you figure them out! My only complaint is how frustrating the combat with bosses can be at times. It feels like no matter what style/character I do at times on the more challenging difficulties I'm just not strong enough. Other than that the replay value has been solid

In short, a great rogue-like deckbuilder. This game has a lot of depth, I've sunk a ton of hours into it. Well polished, rarely encounter a bug and when I do its always minor. Devs make constant updates to the game, its probably twice the size it was when I started. I've bought all the expansions. Even the easiest difficulty can be a challenge at first, but there are several difficulty levels as you learn the game and unlock more starting options.

Edit* BIG PROBLEM with the July 9th UPDATE -- game has become literally unplayable on my Galaxy Note 9. Main screen is solid Black until I adjust volume, then the screen tears, and I can see some of the home screen. I can still press the icons, but I can't see what's happening when I do. PLEASE FIX! fantastic game, sure do miss it.

Cool game. Would love to check out the expansion content. However, on my Google Pixel 3A, the game has problems running consistently. Will play fine for part of a run, and then hit a snag that forces a restart. Obviously the error is so significant the game won't be able to successfully reopen and I need to uninstall and reinstall the game, losing a good chunk of progress on the process. Can't justify spending more money on a program that runs so inconsistently on my device.

It's a good game, no question, probably one of the better mobile deck builders out there. Unfortunately many cards, talents, and combinations require experimentation to see if they really work as they say and as expected, and you'll often find yourself scratching your head wondering why it didn't. If the team was more stringent in ensuring that things do what they say and no more or less, it'd be much better. But for me, the consistent unpredictability is a tough swallow.

I played it before they added Fateshards as a "progression system" (which doubled the amount of time to progress). The game is really fun, doesn't require internet, but forces things like currency based progression for no reason. Either reduce the cost of fateshard related items or increase their drop rate. Shouldn't take 3-5 hours for a couple of upgrades. Developers do actually care about their game, though, and it shows. 3 stars for unnecessary inconvenience.
