The new update is trash. The map functionality has basically taken a huge hit. That was the feature I used the most because I'm interested in a specific neighborhood. Can't swipe to the next house anymore on the map feature and that stupid list pop up on maps takes up about 1/3 of the mobile screen - making it 33% less user friendly. Bring back the old setup.

I'm disappointed in the app. It won't properly show shared saved houses any longer. The app freezes constantly. I uninstalled and reinstalled it, and it's even worse. I can't get signed back in. I enter my email/password, and it's just freezes each time. Zillow is the best, in my opinion, so it's very disappointing that their app is so poor. Update 5/31/24 app is still subpar. Constantly crashes. Come on, zillow, you're the top choice to look at homes. You can do better than this.

I don't know why you would do it, but Zillow is a PITA to use now. A user used to be able to zoom into an area and scroll through the homes, but now, more than half the screen is used up by the home and the stuff at the bottom if the page and there is no longer an option to swipe from one house to the next. Needless to say, it makes using Zillow on a cell phone difficult. 🤬

So far this app has not impressed me. 1. When I save a search there seems to be no way to update or adjust that search. 2. The feature of "hiding" a property doesn't work. I hide a property, then later it gets emailed to me as a suggestion. 3. The emails and suggestions don't correlate with my saved search. 30 min radius from point A. And I am getting 1hr plus. 4. I go to my profile & all I see is a strange/incorrect profile of the property I own. Why? It shouldn't be this clunky.

The 3D tour opinion is absolute trash. It automatically goes to each point when you try to SWIP the screen to view the entire room it just zooms across the house to each circle point. It should only go to a different position of the house when clicking on the physical circle not just tapping a random spot on the screen. When it's the only option to look at some of the places it makes it near impossible to even look at it.

There doesnt appear to be any way of bookmarking/favoriting anything if looking to rent. There is also no way to report a misleading listing. (e.g. Studios get mixed up with 1br. Same with garages) Also noted that the touchboxes for listings in map mode are either way too big or horribly calibrated, leading to a huge amount of mis-taps when trying to look at a specific listing between two others.

Need a Comment Section for Listings! Sometimes, I wish there was a feature that allows "verified" property viewers the opportunity to leave comments about their experience. This would keep the listing agents honest. Too many times, I have come across a listing that grossly misrepresented the property. Outdated/Old pictures, highly edited photos, etc.

Since the last update, the app just sits trying to load (loading circle keeps spinning). And won't open when notifications are tapped. It's frustrating because I need to view these home immediately as some don't remain on the market for long. And now it won't uninstall! It's been "uninstalling" for over 10 minutes and still just keeps showing the spinning loading circle. I even restarted the phone and it's still at it!

I've really enjoyed this app for the most part. However, I asked for recommendations for a city, and looked at those houses for a couple weeks. I lost all interest in that city but I CANNOT keep zillow from recommending houses from that area. No matter how many times I give that location a thumbs down it will not stop. I've tried looking at other ways to remove the location, but found none. It drives me crazy and I'm close to find another app.

The Saved Houses section is the most important part of the app. And it only has one job - to show you the houses you've saved. While it works perfectly on the desktop, in the app this section is filled by an algorithm with houses you've never seen, let alone saved. Somewhere around 1/3 of the houses. And in my experience, many of these unsaved houses in the Saved Houses view are either already sold or not even on the market! Total fail. Makes the app unusable. I hope they fix this.

The app used to be pretty good, the most recent iteration is basically unusable. The map is poor and covered up by an awkward sliding tab. Swiping between houses is a no go. I'm constantly being prompted to press and hold a bar on the screen to prove I'm not a bot, when the bar finally fills up it's hit or miss whether the verification even works or I'm asked to do it again... And again, and again. Awful update.

Welll for what it's worth, it used to be pretty good. However, lately, the properties on the map are completely off on the location. The listings for the area are never accurate. I clicked on a listing in one zip code that was actually 45 miles away. Now, for my actual home, the zillow appraisal is so far off. I live on the water, yet it compares my house to others that don't for it's "zestimate". Update. Still the same problems. Many properties are not showing up on map

It's easier to browse the website than the app. After opening a house entry to view details, when I press the back arrow to return to the search list, it takes me to the TOP of the list and I have to scroll ALL the way back down to where I was. Super annoying. With the web browser, I can at least open up new tabs so I keep my place in the list. I just deleted the app to use the website instead.

I have never experienced a more frustrating app than this one. Why can't I view messages I've sent or received? Why aren't properties I've contacted tracked? Why is it sometimes I hit the back button and it goes back, and sometimes I hit it and it closes the app? This is the last movie I ever use Zillow for. There's too many better options that actually care about user experiences.

Clicking a house link from a Zillow email opens the house in the app, but it doesn't check if that house is on the dislike list. I tried this several times, and despite tapping dislike each time, it never loaded with the dislike button highlighted. Seems small but it creates confusion and wastes time. Would be nice to be able to filter out septic and well too.

The update with the red and pink colors for new properties and already viewed properties are much too close in color. This is change makes it difficult to spot new listings. Thumbs down on this update. Also, the saved homes list used to show pending status, but now you have to click on the listing to see if the house is still pending.

Zillow is great to find available homes, however the app is the worst. It constantly bugs out on me. One moment it will give me listings, the next it glitches out and says there's zero results. The app won't refresh even after closing out the app and opening it back up. Sometimes it takes a whole day and constantly closing and reopening it for it to finally show me results again. I have even checked to see if it needs updated, but never needs it. The app really is not great at all.

The general map UI is hard to use. Searching an area that has no listings causes the bottom bar to move up slightly which means accidental button presses. The android back button may sometimes close the app instead minimizing a listing. Listings stacked on top of each other are nearly impossible to navigate between. Having the draw, satellite mode, and my location buttons on top of the navigation bar while using a big phone requires users to hold the phone from the middle to use.

Took away the ability to quickly swipe left and right and see location, price and top picture. The list setup that replaced it sucks the list blocks the map and have to select everything individually...... its basically made the app unusable this app was much better before and a quick search shows others agree this was a poor choice by the developers

From a buyer perspective, the app works well. It's generally easy to find properties, save them, get alerts, etc. I love being able to see the number of views and saves Seller's perspective: app can be frustrating. I've claimed my home, currently listed with a realtor, so I see the views and saves stats. But the start and stop time of what is considered a "day" is a mystery. I would also like to see some filters for viewing stats, and also the ability to see more than 30 days of stats
