it's good for recipe ideas, but the pantry implementation is a problem. there are multiple ways to refer to an ingredient, and you'll only match recipes that have the phrase you choose. also I don't like that it "expires" things from your pantry, making you re-add them. t it would be better to keep a list of staple ingredients you always have around, and then find recipes with special ingredients that you happen to have on hand temporarily. I don't need it to be a food inventory manager.

I used to really enjoy this app. It offered new ideas on the home page for things that I normally wouldn't search for, so high marks for discovering new things. The saving and management of recipes is nice as well. The fault lies in the constant crashing. Once I go to the Get Directions tab, the app is bound to crash. This is the most vital bit of information for a recipe and it's the most unreliable on this app. It's why I don't use it anymore and why I'll likely delete it. Such a shame.

PLEASE DON'T GET THIS APP! I downloaded it, got the free trial, and its been a total nightmare. I wasn't impressed at all with the recipes and I decided to cancel my subscription before the free trial ended to avoid being charged and SURPRISE there's no button anywhere to cancel the subscription. I searched absolutely everywhere and there's nothing. I've been emailing the support every day and nobody has reached out to me. This has happened to many more people, please don't fall for this.

This app used to be amazing. It's gotten progressively slower, and several recipes didn't have links to the recipe directions. I contacted them about the glitchiness, and they just sent me the link to the recipe site with no assurance that they were working on the problem. Now it just crashes altogether. As much as it sucks to start over, I'm moving on to another app. Sorry. Not sorry. Maybe if they were appropriately responsive, I'd stick it out.

I love this app!! If I see a dish on television or in a restaurant, I can type the dish in the search engine and there the recipe appears. This website gives you the sodium intake, caloric intake, carbohydrates and calories of the dish. They give you a section to create a shopping list and the amount of time it takes to complete the meal. You can also schedule a time and date to make the meal. A wonderful app and fun to use!! I highly recommend.

(Edit- 2 stars now because very slow loading). The positive side of this app is that it has many genuinely great recipes. It is convenient and awesome to have a collection of recipes to use and build, all in one place on the phone. The negative side of this app is that it costs money to unlock the full benefits: saving recipes for offline use and unlocking a greater range of excellent recipes. Also, so far the app only redirects to original sites or blogs that have recipe directions.

We use this app constantly plan out meals and grocery shopping. The layout is very user friendly and easy to find new recipes and dishes outside of what you might have "cooked" up yourself (bad pun, I know). My only complaint is that the app is CONSTANTLY crashing and having to reset. I can't hardly get through looking at the shopping list without having to force close the app. The app itself is beyond a 5/5, however not being able to use it comfortably is hurting the score.

I really liked this app and I still like the idea but it's gotten a lot buggier in recent months. They removed the option to open pages in the browser and I can't copy urls as far as I can tell, so I don't have an alternative to pages randomly cutting out to an error message anymore. Please return the open in browser feature!

Recipes look and sound amazing. Got all my ingredients, excited about the new dish. Then BOOM "directions are not available" This happened three times. The first time, I already had all the ingredients prepared all over my kitchen. Luckily, that mistake was not repeated. I think the app markers should filter out links to recipes that require a membership to see.

This was my all time favorite recipe app. Once Whirlpool took over, it has been nothing but terrible. Incredibly slow load times, "Trouble in the kitchen " alert every single screen navigation within app. And today, my personal lists wouldn't load at all, so I uninstalled and reinstalled, and now can't even log in. Terrible. And extremely disappointing. Big thumbs down.

The app is ok. I find it a bit tedious to navigate. It doesn't seem to take keywords very well in the search. When I look up one thing, it gives something entirely different. It frequently freezes and when you check off something on your list, it pops back up. It does have some good recipes when you can get to them but the glitches make it a bit hard to use. I will be looking elsewhere.

Great app! Easy to use and organize. Lots of recipes to choose from. App has banned me from leaving reviews, which makes it a bit difficult for me to keep track if what I've made without having to create a category for disliked recipes. I make sure my reviews are mostly objective and professional, so I don't understand why. I've emailed support, but haven't heard back from them. Going to delete account if issue isn't fixed soon, which will be undesirable since I've used yummly for years.

I love this app. I've been using it for several years. Tons of great recipes. However, lately it has started being very sluggish. It's slow to load recipes and quite often I get an error message that Yummly isn't responding. I don't know what you did in your last update, but please fix it! Also, when it tells me to close app, wait or send feedback, and I try to send feedback, it tells me I'm not connected to the internet. But of course, I am.

I love having recipes from multiple websites in one place. It's a phenomenal idea... Buried in a mediocre app. The search function could be improved and the built-in browser is bad. Most recipes I'm looking at run into "technical issues" and they recently patched out the option to open recipes in your phone browser.

Update: They ruined a good thing with the latest "update" with unnecessary changes. I will be abandoning the past 4 years of collecting recipes because it's just not a valuable app to me anymore. I will be finding a new recipe app. Previous post: The best thing about this app is that it pulls recipes from all over the internet, not just one site or company. The shopping list makes it so easy. I use it every single day I'm in the kitchen. It has changed the way I cook completely.

I used to really like this app, but lately it works less and less and has become too frustrating to use. Pages regularly don't load until you refresh them a million times. It makes it impossible to save the recipes that come up on the home screen because they don't load, then they disappear when you reopen the app and it's impossible to find them from searching (another not so great feature). I could deal with some of the cheaper aspects of the app, but it's just become too hard to use.

The thermometer works OK. A couple of issues are; the entire thermometer needs to be inserted. So your typical steak, pork chop, chicken part aren't thick enough to use this for. For thick cuts of meat it works great. The signal range is very short. My phone has to be within 20 feet of the base. The base needs to be within 5 feet of the grill or oven. Tha app is annoying as hell. I can't turn off notifications without making the thermometer updates break. The app is a battery drain when running.

I recently re-downloaded this app and I'm not as big a fan as when I used it years ago. The interface is not as convenient anymore. It requires you to add things to a shopping list before you can add it to pantry. I would prefer a quick-add to pantry method for things that I know I have in my kitchen without having to individually add to shopping list then scroll shopping list to add to pantry. Also, the integrated tech takes up an entire tab of the app. I do like the meal planner though.

As if it wasn't bad enough that Yummly screwed up searching for recipes online, they had to make this terrible app. It's slow. It doesn't save things it says it's saved for you. And it isn't maintained properly: ask how many times I got screwed completely (paid for and bought the groceries) only to come back, click the link to read the instructions... and that page doesn't exist, or Martha Stewart took that recipe down who knows how long ago. Yummly doesn't. This app deserves 0 stars

Cool idea but the thermometer is inaccurate unless fully in a dish. If even 1/4 is out of the dish it thinks chicken cooks in 5 minutes. You can't turn off notifications to use the thermometer either. So you either get all of the notifications with the obnoxious tone or you have to keep turning the thermometer on and off.
