Unable to edit my name; strict/pointless rules for elite members. Used to LOVE this app. I loved the honesty & transparency of them saying that businesses cannot pay to remove reviews. I've noticed anything under 2 stars the star rating is completely blank. What is up with that?? Very sketchy. Also if I exit the app in the middle of browsing, when I relaunch it, it completely resets and I have to search all over. I really don't like the new updates. Wish I could go back to the old version.

I used to rely on yelp on my phone and computer to find new restaurants and local businesses but now utilize Google as well. This app is mostly glitch free. What I don't like is that searches are not automatically listed by distance. I'll end up with businesses that are miles away near the top of the list and businesses that are walking distance on page 3. Furthermore, reviews are never listed in chronological order. Recent reviews are intermingled with 3 and 4 year old reviews.

I can open the app, but when I put in a restaurant or search it will not load! So annoying and frustrating because even on the web on my phone if you want to look at details on a page it forces you to use the app...which doesn't work! It's been like this forever and none if the updates fix it. I tried reaching to have it fixed. No response, UNINSTALLED.

Does not work right for Nexus 5X. If you select a basic filter, then view results and select one you can't go back to the results again. Also it takes you to the top where the sponsored restaurants are each time. Super frustrating when trying to pick a place with friends while traveling. Other people's phones work, Nexus 5X does not. Shouldn't be hardware specific bug. Very disappointed 😞

The previous version worked just fine on my Android 7.0 phone. Apparently, the new version released 7/28/21 doesn't work on 7.0 because the install kept failing. I even uninstalled and tried to reinstall the app, and that didn't work either. If a new version requires a minimum operating system, at least state that up front, or don't allow the app to update on a phone that doesn't have the required OS. Now I have no Yelp app on my phone, so... GOODBYE!

Love being forced to download an app to confirm a reservation. Especially when I literally can't do that on my computer (outside of e.g. BlueStacks), which is where I normally interact with my texts. A confirmation should take two clicks total, including navigating to the page. Can't wait for the canned response about being "encouraged" to download the app for its superior user experience. The absolute gall.

Horrible. I used to use yelp almost exclusively. Now it seems useless. it cant see the restaurant right across the street. And when I search specifically for it, it finds it, but puts the address on the map a half a mile away. When you follow the mapped address over to google maps, it carries over the map location, but has a completely different street number address. Totally useless. Goodbye.

I deleted this app 4 years ago because it ran 100% of the time. Even with sync and location off. I had to force close it, but 3 mins later, it was running again. Removed all permissions etc, even went as far as clearing all data. Still the vampire app woke up, and continued to drain my battery, and replace the data. My biggest problem is reading the reviews by ghost accounts from years ago, that trump relevant data from legit users. This was where I came to get the truth. Another sellout now.

Terrible User Experience- this replaced the No Wait app, which did exactly what i wanted it to do. No Wait showed nearby restaurants that I could check into. In Yelp, I have to search, and it invariably shows ads before my search results. In addition, the app covers the navigation buttons at the bottom of the screen, so I have to swipe down to access them.

Crashes often. Doesn't remember last search settings. Recently visited list is always missing stuff. Video autoplay while scrolling photos cannot be disabled causing lag/crashes/interrupting my music. Map based search misses places within area. For a company with some of the best developers in the world, this is pretty disappointing. Perhaps engineering management should focus a bit more on making existing features work smoothly before adding new ones.

I think yelp is a good service for people who travel often. I used to use the service a lot, but I really dislike this app. The app is battery and data hungry to an unacceptable level. Fix it by only sending data when I open it, and NEVER putting notifications on my screen. It's annoying, and I shouldn't have to disable this in system settings. Trying to use the website on mobile is similarly frustrating. I don't want your annoying app. Stop trying to force it on me, your content is NOT that $$$

Not a user friendly app. It is a pain trying to save things and to make notes on places, and - in searching to try to find where something is saved - it's so easy to accidentally remove it from bookmarks, and your notes. Map view has also gotten terrible, it won't let you click on different locations unless you zoom in really close. I'm pretty amazed at how awful such a popular app is.

Helps me find great places to dine at and events around town & near where I'm located. Works pretty good yet will give false results for specific searches. For example, I looked for BBQ restaurants and places like McDonald's were in the results - McDonald's!??! That needs to be fixed. Update (01/11/2019): Search results are still not great... the app will include places to eat that are definitely wrong.

Since the update last week, my old app kept freezing and telling me there was an error. To fix that, i needed to turn off my cell and reboot each time I wanted to use yelp. I eventually Uninstalled the app, came here and installed a newer version. The new version has some of the older features that I missed, like looking at your ratings average. The only thing I DON'T LIKE is I can not look at my past reviews easily. You really have to dig for them. I would like the quick access to reviews.

It was the go-to source for most establishments' info and comments. I did enjoy the feature of adding places of interest into your contacts. Was convenient. UPDATE: Haven't a clue what happened to the site but who ever updated the features of the filtering and sort features need to try it out before they send it out to the public. In it present form I don't even bother using your your App anymore. It's garbage as I see it now. Google might as well drop it in Play Store. Don't bother.

Website SUCKS! Mobile site will not detect location (allowed), nor will it search by zip code. Going to the map freezes the page at the bottom so you can only see a sliver of the map and you can't scroll up. No option to open the full site over the mobile site. Shameful. Thankfully, the app is MUCH better! Searches kept trying to default to San Francisco, even though my location is turned on and I have my city in my profile. It was annoying to have to change the search filter each time.

When I'm on the second page of a search result, hitting the back button brings me all the way back to the home page instead of the first page of the result. Also, if I change the location, all my filters like "open now" are gone. Many stupid things, like no zoom in photos, have been fixed over the years but there are still many left. I guess Yelp CEO doesn't use the app.

Go-to app for finding restaurants & shopping locations. I LOVE the "Open Now" feature, it'd be even better if there was an option to have that setting on by default. My only complaint is that you can't copy addresses anymore, you're stuck using the default GPS app. EDIT: Please bring back long-press to copy! Google Maps has become nearly unusable on my device (because of lag) & it takes forever to open the map just to copy an address to paste elsewhere.

The last few versions of the app has been horrible. Every time I try to filter, it just says "no results, try again". I refresh the app and sometimes it shows results, sometimes it doesn't. Happens on both my phone and tablet. The bookmarks are also difficult to go through. I have a lot of bookmarks and the city filter that's on the website would be helpful on mobile. Yelp has been around for so long, what happened to the app?? The check in feature is also broken. Just crashes

App has a large corpus, but they just made a terrible decision with a recent UI update. Previously you could tap on a restaurant on the map, then swipe horizontally to display adjacent results and their location on the map. Now when you tap on a result, swiping just scrolls through the pictures. HUGE loss of usability for me since now I need to either manually search for the next result on the map, or go back and forth between the list and map view. EDIT: They fixed their UI, thank god. 5 stars
