Overall, I find the app more helpful than most others I have experienced. The newer version makes it more difficult to denote the number of shares in a particular equity position, as it appears to me that you can only edit the position by entering new "Lots" info. I don't want to enter specific information re "Lots" in a phone app, so that actually makes it less user friendly to me than the previous versions of the app.

I have used yahoo finance for over a decade. Very disappointed with the update. Not everyone wants to analyze every stock every time they look. Sometimes you just want a quick glance. The new format makes it much more difficult to read. Too much info on the page. I am most interested in the numbers showing the current price change of the stocks. Those numbers are the smallest on the page, with no adjustment for bold face or size. 1/2/24 - Update Thank you yahoo! Easy to see now at a glance.

The app is much harder to view after the latest update. Stock price numbers are all black instead of the red or green backlight before. It was easy to review before. Now you have to look much harder for details. That may have been the plan with the update, to prolong the use of the app, but it will probably force some to find an alternative. Can Yahoo Finance give us a choice between to old "look" and the new "look"? This new interface is awful. Thank you

Version 2.0 pretty much a disaster. Lists are rarely calculated properly, percentage gains or losses are grossly overstated or understated. As an example, one of my list should calculate to around $100k, but their app shows a value of $4500. No use tracking your options because they, too, rarely are correct. This issue has been around for multiple months. Their support page, if you are lucky to get a human, will tell you to not use the app but to use the web version. It's wrong there too.

Much worse than it used to be. Slowly but surely it's shifting towards its primary goal: to show you ads. If that's not enough, it's pretty bad at doing the things that you want it to do. The app updates very slowly. The plots often don't match the text (eg. text will say positive return, plot will show negative return.) Some things are only editable on the website, not in the app.

This used to be a fantastic app. Unfortunately it's had a redesign with an excess of fluff... Soooo slow... The best work around seems to be to open it, close it and then open it again. But it seems to be getting worse. Memory leakage maybe? Please fix. Feeling be forced to find an alternative after all these years. Sad.

Reiterating 1 stars. App not stable. Clearing cache and data has no sustainable effect. Watchlist page super buggy -- quotes for the first visible items don't update until you've scrolled them on and off the screen; Other quotes come in delayed and sporadically at best. Constantly have to force quit and relaunch to have semblance of performance. Browsing between pages and back to watch list seems to leak ridiculous amounts of resources.

Still a good app. I've been using it for years. It's now not so user friendly if you like to scroll down the list of articles. When it refreshes ,which it does often, it loses the place that I was viewing and I have to re-scroll through the list to find where I was ...... .. numerous times. Pretty frustrating.

New bug with 2.0 portfolio. The details screen no longer keeps the same order as the main portfolio screen so you can't easily reorder the list of equities by various columns for the main portfolio screen. Please allow us to configure which lists are included in the main total holdings point shown at the top of the screen. I like to keep some lists for research but don't want them included in my total holdings.

Updates- As of 2nd week APRIL 2024, not all price notifications are being passed to Android 13. I can see alerts in finance app history, but the messages are not consistently appearing in Android history or notifications. Now crash every 20 mins. Updated to 1 stars (from 2) - Single Chart no longer getting "stuck" on summary page. but memory-resource leak crash over time. Constant slowness and crashing due to leak or other ( on high end phone). Like the product, but Please fix.

Aside the nostalgic feeling of being the longest lasting site still relevant today, it is remarkably successful at bringing one of the most user-friendly apps in the markets while not reducing the number of segments/services. Almost every detail is thoughtout extensively, so to make it intuitively easier to navigate through the plethora of info from different segments and/or subject matters available. I use it mostly for Yahoo Finance, but I find I use it more & more as a general news source.

I've used Yahoo finance for years. Portfolio 2.0 will be the final straw for me. This app was always pretty janky, but at least it was fairly flexible for tracking assets. With the new version you lose that free-form tracking that made this a useful companion to a brokerage app. They have also increased visual clutter and increased the number of clicks to do anything. Since they have now announced that they are sunsetting the old portfolio layout I'll be looking for something else. I'm out.

Downgraded the experience from 5 stars after the recent very non-user friendly update In short, it was decided to move the very helpful Markets feature from the main screen to some much harder to get to area in the app under Search Even then, navigating between the US, European and Asian markets is very cumbersome If it ain't broken, don't fix it!

I switched from CNBC app to this one. Yahoo Finance is constantly being improved. Runs smoothly. The portfolios and watch lists are awesome. The desktop version is a natural extension. Great app. Added review below on Thu Apr 25, 2019. Yahoo Finance is having a lot if issues lately. 1) I like the new and refreshed appearance. 2) The speed has slowed a lot and it doesn't "stream" as smoothly as before. I have to refresh or check other sources on the prices I see which is sad.

Update for 2024, this is my go to ginance aggregator, and since they added crypto, it has all i need. It syncs well with the browser version too. 2016 It is very handy to have for a quick look at the market and specific stocks. Great news stories too. That's really helpful. Edit: it would be great if it rotated on my tablet update: good improvements made with recent update, keep up the good work, I like the navigation on the latest update.

This app has been amazing for the last couple of years but two issues have come up recently. The app won't recognize my USOI holdings on any of my portfolios and no matter what kind of troubleshooting or resetting/re-linking I do, it does not fix the issue. Furthermore, the new update isn't able to track my portfolios all at once because it's more than 200 holdings across all of them, yet the previous version was able to do that. Did they purposely made it worse? Put it back plz!

The app has an persistent glitch while I am scrolling through a long list of stocks. It will suddenly refresh/reload and I will have to start scrolling all the way from the top again. Sometimes I can't even make it to the bottom of my list because it keeps jumping while I scroll. It has been happening for the past few weeks, and on multiple devices (S22 Ultra and S24 Ultra) so it is clearly a problem with the app itself. Please fix this. It makes it unusable.

Data fails to load constantly. Edit: No change. Same issue. And horrible sign in process. Edit 2: Apparently it does not work when Ad Guard is running, unfortunately. The charts no longer work after yet another update. Really annoying! Portfolio 2.0 is a jumbled mess. What is wrong with the developers?

All data displayed is old, charts don't update. In certain "high profile" tickers, it'll just display straight up false data for hours. Interesting. Somehow the post and pre ticker pricing is always way off. I pretty much use this for the list, but if I want to see the current price or chart of any ticker I have to look it up on Google. No idea why this app can't show accurate stock data, since that's all it is supposed to do. Update: works pretty well now

This latest update reduced the amount of information that is viewable at a quick glance. What I loved about Yahoo Finance was how quick I could scan and scroll through information. Now I have to navigate to get to information that was once aggregated in a single screen. The data still lags a bit, which has always been my complaint... but for a free app, I could live with it.
