Look somewhere else to transfer your money. Like Remitly which is much more reliable. Seems like the folks at Xoom are in the business of collecting your documents, but not actually transferring money. After they collect your bank statements, ID, SSN etc etc, they will say we can't transfer, but won't tell you the reason why. The App sucks too btw.

First small transaction went well, so I tried to do another soon after. It was held for a week, called them (email never responded), and I was told that they needed documentation (an ID) so that I could make larger transfers. Ok, no problem. Except that when they sent the email with the link to the app, they wanted a bank statement. Ok? I uploaded it, my transaction was instantly cancelled. Tried again a month later, same thing. Called them today and guess what? My account was blacklisted. Wow.

The app itself works okay, but the issue is with the company's service. I had spent over a month confirming, reconfirming, and flat out arguing with support over my account details so I could send an transfer. It was only after getting elevated multiple times and finally yelling at the staff that I made any progress. It felt terrible to do so, but that was the only way to get things to happen.

This app makes foreign money transfers flawlessly easy. If I had to search for an issue, the only one might be that it's too easy. It seems the app learns what it thinks are my preferences and defaults to prior recipients and prior deposit amounts. On numerous occasions I have nearly sent an incorrect amount because the default was not what I wanted. One more clear confirmation step of recipient and amount should be added.

My first experience with Xoom required two calls to make one transfer. If an ID is needed, ask for it before the transfer rather than canceling and asking you to call. They said they would review it within 1 business day, but I had to call again. They mention supported banks, but there are limited locations. Check before transferring. App: it asks me if I want fingerprint login everytime I open it. Verifying my bank account doesn't work within the app.

The App is great!! When it works. I mainly use the app as a pay service because is the only app I can use to pay Bill's internationally for my grandparents, but I have had so many issues with this app because every month is a struggle to get things paid as it's always running through errors or closes on me in the middle of a transaction. Here and there it'll work just fine and it's amazing, but everytime I'm about to make a transaction I'm holding my breath and I'm going in without confidence.

I've used Xoom in both its web form and more recently, this app. The app is less friendly to work with. With a recipient, it won't let you change the pickup method or the way you're sending it. You can do it on the web. It also defaults to loading all the people you've ever sent money to so it takes a whole 30 seconds plus to load that.

No response from customer service. I have sent several messages the past year because I keep getting notifications almost daily to pick up money for a cancelled transaction. Edit: I haven't been able to log into the app for many months. I try to log in with my PayPal password and it erases it. I have tried everything and it is gliched and I can't log into the app. I can log in on the browser, but it changes the name of the person who is receiving when I go to review. App is non-functional.

My 5 start rating just went straight to a 1 star. Before Xoom joined with PayPal, I used to send money with ease. Xoom cancelled 6 of my transactions with no explanation whatsoever. My last over the phone interaction with them they said I am no longer able to use Xoom, again, no explanation as to why or how to fix the issue. They just cancel transactions as they please. Other money transfer apps are 10x better; less fees, more exchange rates, upfront identity verification for less hassle.

Customer service are unbelievable. I had a transaction that was showing 'on track', or something like that, for days when I called customer service they made it seem as if I should have known what that meant and was suppose to call them. After I couldn't take their tedious verification process anymore, especially after they asked me to send my license and so on, I told them to cancel everything and am now going to delete the app. Hope you have a better experience.

Very bad experience with this vservice. Very invasive verification process. I started to use this service a while ago, took very long to get through the verification process. First few transactions was smooth, but really slow. Tried to send again, got cancelled without reason. Had to call customer service, who wanted more personal information, etc. I ended up abadoning this app. NOT-RECOMMRBDED.

I've use PayPal and cash app to send money to people in this is by far the worst interface I've ever used. If you start off with send money you have to type the recipients complete information in again even though they're in your recipient list. If you want to send money to an existing recipient you need to start on the recipient tab. Not very user-friendly at all! When the transaction is completed the final page just sits there until you press An X which your not sure if it's going to cancel.

Useless. Was so excited to find this app. Setup was easy including registering recipients. The transfer process was super simple as well and promised to be quick but alas, each transfer texts you a time that funds should be available and then the app glitches out and won't load. I had to uninstall and reinstall the app just to get it to open again to see what was going on. Every transaction is cancelled: allegedly due to technical issues on the receiving bank's end but they're never contacted.

The primary purpose of the app is to send money to another country but we have to go through 108 steps to find out what the exhange rate is. Having a top level page that shows the current exchange rate (possibly even history) would be excellent. Going another step ahead, I would also like to receive a notification when the expected rate is reached. Without that the app is just useless to people who don't send money often. Uninstaling now. It's even worse! Can't even send money easily! 🤦🏻♂️

Been using Xoom service for a long time. Initially it was great. Slowly there were more and more problems on both the web page and the app. I put a contact in my list and it gets the phone numbers mixed up. I have deleted my contacts and re-entered them many time. It still seems to get the numbers wrong. Other problems include the interface freezing and not completing the transaction. Now the app just won't let me login. I am deleting the app. I will find a better option.

My experience with Xoom is equivalent to anything above "TERRIBLE". If you want your money remitted to the receiver I suggest you try another option. Definitely not Xoom! They put me through a lot with the verification process which they claimed was for security. As soon as the verification is completed, it takes forever for the money to be remitted to the receiver. Their customer service always claims it's due to technical issues with their partners. No tangible feedback whatsoever

Hero to Zero: I have been using Xoom for years. It used to be a great way to transfer money, until recently. In the past, the money was transferred in minutes. Now they take several days without much updates on the progress. Customer service agents are taught to repeat the standard sentences no matter what your question is. Excellent example of how to go from Hero to Zero. If it is going to take days to get money transferred & with not the best conversion rate, why not look elsewhere instead!

I tried making a transfer through Xoom, the money was immediately deducted from my account but they had some kind of "compliance review" that their "partner" was conducting which delayed the transfer from completing. I was under the impression this was an immediately transfer service, considering they charge a $4.95 fee. If you are thinking about using Xoom because it's convenient with it being connected to PayPal, I would reconsider. Try Remitly instead.

I've been using the app and roughly speaking enjoyed it. It's fast when it works. But that is getting worse over time on reliably being able to use it. I also find it deceptive when they claim a $5 fee but then Jack you on exchange rate. Example, Philippine pesos trading at almost 58:1 against the $ and they give you 56:1. So if you send $1,000 they're taking 2,000 pesos on top of the $5 fee they claim. At 58:1 that's an extra $34.50. So the real fee is almost $40 to transfer $1,000.

Only good thing is decent transfer fees. App is unreliable. Continually need to login and does not use the most up-to-date technology or security to perform online banking transactions. App also randomly logs you out in the middle of doing transactions. PayPal?? 5/23/24-update: Still no improvements. Amazing how this hasn't changed in years for new tech or security improvements.
