This app has significantly improved my vocabulary. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to enhance their vocabulary. You can learn new words with pronunciation, various examples, full meanings, and synonyms—all together in one app and presented in sentences, not just as word lists. It's great! If the developers could add a feature to export the vocabulary we've collected, that would make it even better. And, make it more user friendly.

I absolutely love this app. However, since updates there's been a constant glitch, the app keeps freezing. I need to restart it constantly. Also, there's a lot of additional costs. I don't know if they have any promotions or sales, but I find it quite pricey.

Best app so far to gain new vocabulary and get in the learning fastlane - just by revising few times a week with the support of AI. Lots of ways to put it into practise with multiple conversation themes made available. A nice add-on would be to allow users to help expand the vocabulary database of Wordup (sometimes missing some good idiomatic expressions).

This app is very useful for extend your vocabulary in English, there are words that before I didn't know their significant but with this app I understand those words that appears in movies or TV programs, I'm learning American English and this app is what I needed. But the most of those words are in informal situations or conversations. Anyway, it's useful if you want to learn British or American English as second language. Five starts ⭐⭐⭐⭐🌟

Won't do anything. I click "Get Started" or "Login" and it goes to a blank white sceen. Nothing else happens. Useless. Please fix this. I'm on a Galaxy U23... thanks. 4/18/23 EDIT: Works pretty well since the update. You essentially cycle through a lot of words and select whether you know it or not. So far I'm at the 3,000 word mark and haven't come across one I don't know. The jargon includes British slang/dialect. For example, bum is a jobless person in US and a person's bottom in EU.

The forced ads are just too ridiculous. There's a vast difference between ads which just continuously sit tucked at the bottom of the screen and don't interrupt you, and ads which appear every few words and force you to wait for 5 seconds before moving on. The latter is far more annoying and not worth dealing with. I will find another app. Edit: I understand you have to make money. That is why I complained specifically about the type of ads being pushed, not the fact that there are ads.

This app should have an ability to scroll/navigate between each word's main definition "page" / "view", with pictures at the top, definitions, synonyms, etc, in order to review / "go over" them quickly from one page to the next, as opposed to having to constantly go in and out, in and out of each page. This constant jumping in and out of the main page gets very annoying very quick and makes the whole process of learning, especially reviewing quickly what you have learned, that much harder.

The app is helpful for learning vocabularies with graph feature! However, on my phone, there's a persistent black bar at the bottom, showing only half of the content, like words number 100-200 and half rows of blocks, the good news is the swipe to next 100 words feature was still works. After the upgrade, the issue worsened, now displaying only the word number, and swiping is not longer possible!

The app is realy great, fun to use and helpful. But after the recent update on 2022/10/18 The Arabic translations of some English words have disappeared. I'm not sure if this was intended or was a mistake or a bug, so i wanted to inform you about it. Other than that, the app is a bit slow and doesnt sync progress on more than 1 device unless i do it manually.

This is the only app you'll ever need to increase your vocabulary. It brings multiple resources in one place, and you can even commenting on a particular example if you have questions. It makes the learning experience enjoyable and memorable. Here are some of my advice to make this app more great: 1. Add the ability to bring up the dictionary wherever a word is selected. 2. Add Youglish section when you look up a word. 3. Add personal library so that user can upload their own search library. 4.

I was really excited to try this app, but every time I open it and click "get started" it takes me to a white blank page and the loading symbol dissappears. I've tried waiting 5 minutes to let it load with no change, I closed and reopened the app but got the same blank white page, I checked the wifi which is totally fine and other apps open and work just fine, and I uninstalled/reinstalled - same thing. I have an Andriod Galaxy A32. I really wanted to use this app. A lot of people love it!

I had been searching for the application to increase my vocabulary database at the right level and in an effective way. WordUp has all I want. The app get to know me better everyday in words I need to learn, many examples to understand each word and its usage, the review tomorrow/3 days/7 days really help to imprint words in our head. I also like options on American/British pronunciation.

I gave 5 stars before , edited it to 3 now. It's a very good app but having programming issues obviously. It lost 5 % my data (words). I had tried restoring them like 10 times, it didn't bring back, contacted support team to get help, nothing from them either. It's a shame, it was a good app. I had to uninstall it

App deleted my progress. :(. Finally got bac9k into the app and every few words I'm working on, the same notification pops up asking if I want to set up reminds. Already happened 3 times in a few minutes. Incredibly annoying. Two days later and again I lost my guest progress. Apparently updates erase your data. Uninstalling. Newest update requires signing in. There's no reason a vocab app should require a login.

Really for non-native English speakers, if you're a native speaker with intermediate vocabulary/fluency by that standard, like you graduated high school and read a book once in a while, there isn't much here in terms of advanced/obscure "$100 words"- most of the ones I don't know are technical (tarpaulin, flange). I've gone through like 20 sets of discovery only finding a few unknown words. Seems like it would be a great supplemental tool for learning English vocabulary, though.

Terrible after update, if not corrected I'll need to cancel membership. Edit: I've spent over 100 hours on the old version (Spaced repetition and 3 answers to choose from to see if you know the word). This new version has pictures and will even just pronounce the word and have you select the written form; it's also extremely glitchy. I wasn't going to write a review until I looked at a comment on similar issues from almost a month ago. Need to look for an alternative app for now.

Has a lot of great features! I am using it to study for the GRE. You can add specific words to your "to learn" list, which is great. However, they only provide one meaning of any word, and the flashcards are a little glitchy sometimes, not allowing you to see their meaning of the word at seemingly random intervals. Plus, there are a few GRE words they don't have. But hey, I appreciate the app a lot regardless!

This is very cool! I have a large vocabulary, but I don't use it verbally very often. I haven't stretched my linguistic muscles in a bit but WordUp makes it easy! Whether you're practicing for a spelling bee, an exam or a high-level client presentation, I think you'll have fun with it. (I'm on the free version at this time.)

Quickly losing any confidence in this app. It made up a usage for the word stud to mean to work hard that I can't find in any dictionary. Then for the word wind, the app doesn't distinguish between the pronunciations; it pronounces it the same across the homonyms. I think you could use this app to check your knowledge, but as far as learning goes, particularly if English is not your first language, I don't recommend it.

I spent a 15 minutes and could not get to any words that I didn't know. I jumped ahead a thousand words at the time a few times. Perhaps my vocabulary is better than the average American but it is certainly not that of a scholar. I got bored trying to find a sweet spot so I am going to uninstall. This app needs to give lists of words that become progressively harder and then ask the user to choose the first list where there are more than x number of unknown words. There is your starting point.
