I think it needs to be updated to use the newest Scrabble dictionary that was re-published in 2018. Many common words in modern American vernacular are not accepted. Aside from that, this is a great app. Clean and simple, no social media clutter or microtransactions. It's exactly what it needs to be and nothing more. It's definitely worth buying the paid version to get rid of ads.

Love this as an alt to WWF! The price for premium is well worth it. The game is clean and works exactly as I expect. Would be an awesome addition to the game if there were a dictionary link that defines the played words for all players to see (and learn!). I noticed an option to add a player... If I had more friends, I could try to see if that means i can play among 3 or 4 friends.

One of the few games that I've paid to upgrade. Well worth it. Been playing for many years now, and I've been playing many of the same opponents for years. Random board is my favourite. My only rule is pretty simple; if you quit, I don't ask for rematch, otherwise we go again and again. Dictionary is sufficient and never had any issues on any of my devices. Good job dev team!

Mostly good. Way better than Words with Friends 2 in which you can't turn off the ridiculous amount of advertisements. At least Wordfeud has that option. Definitely needs some improvements though. Wordfeud uses a very poor English dictionary. MANY real words are not included. Also, I cannot find a way to view my rating without finishing a game. Very strange. Also, Wordfeud only shows a very limited amount of recently completed games. Why the limit? Well, at least I don't have to see ads anymore.

It's satisfying and it includes a message function, though with very limited text space, but you can at least communicate with your opponents. The stats are also a nice touch, and you can even see the stats for other players and friends. I've been playing for about 8 years, I believe, though the game did not always track performance metrics, which is a bit disappointing (I'm a numbers guy), but at least it's there now.

I've been a Wordfeud player for several years. I've always found the app to work really well. I've made new friends and stayed in contact with old ones. Good experience overall! ...... So jump forward to now... I'm editing this review... Made a friend in the UK, back then... Just finished a game with her a second ago!! Better friends now!! The app itself has had a few upgrades that make it even better!!! Definitely Recommend Word Feud!!!!

Over all the game is Great. Straight forward, simple to use and not overly visually stimulating. The reason for the 2 Star review, I purchased the paid version for $5 because I was sick and tired of the ads. No big deal well worth the money. But now I do not receive any notifications whether it's my turn or any messages from my opponents. I'll try turning on and off the notification settings several times with no success. I don't get no visual, vibration or soundsnotification. Please fix.

After 11 years of playing, I STILL prefer this to any other Scrabble-like app. Keeping track has never been so fun. Keep up the good work guys! Maybe throw in some voip someday! Lots of good times and good friends made. Thank you for keeping the UI simple and not bogging down CPU with fancy but useless animations. Edit: 13 years. Still the same game. Absolutely fantastic.

The reason for the 3 stars is they really need to update the dictionary. There has been a number of words that their dictionary doesn't know. For the most part though we like the way it works. It's very basic, no flashy stuff, which is nice. I like that we can message each other as we play. And it would be a great improvement if 2 could play against 2 and if you could find a definition for words played, to increase learning. Other than that the app is working fine. I have the ad free version.

Almost perfect. Once you buy it, it's nearly perfect. Straight, no-frills scrabble. The option to play on a random tile board is fun and adds another element of strategy. The only thing I'd like to see is an option to exclude people who resign games a lot from the random matchmaking. Like if they resign or time out more than five percent of their games or something, you never get matched with them. Then the game would be flawless.

Much better than words with friends. That app is bloated with spammy ads and pop ups that beg you to try different features and challenges over and over again no matter your settings, and they require a subscription just to hide the ads (I assume the promo pop ups don't go away) This app is much simpler without adding a bunch of useless features. My one suggestion: allow a new game invitation to remove the time out if they want. Some casual games have been ended from that, and it was annoying.

This is a wonderful game. I have throughouly enjoyed it since 2010 or so. I play it daily whenever there is even the slightest down time. The new look that was added in July 2019 looks cool too! The awesome stats, I really like. The only drawbacks are the Wordfeud cheats (you know who you are) and the game's dictionary that is in great need of being updated. A great word game!

Classic word game. Fun. Met some cool people. But there are problems. It's most aggravating to play a word & be told it's not in "their" dictionary. Then look it up in a real dictionary & find that yes, it is a real word, but you just missed 69 points anyway. Developers seldom answer questions. When my phone is on privacy mode, this game bypasses & sends sound notification anyway. Although you're supposed to be able to bypass commercials after 5 seconds there are now 15 second ones you can't.

Major improvement in UI is that I can see again how many tiles are left. This fell off the rounded corner on Galaxy S9+ in the previous UI. The rest of the new UI is nice imo, just remove the p for how many points we played (32p) because that's not used anywhere else and is obvious from the context. I can't seem to connect to the server more often at the moment and get a blanc page, no games.

(july 16 2019 update: all these ui updates are the same? what's going on word feud? you're dropping the ball!!!) I'm not digging the new UI. The old Ui I was simple. The new UI looks like there's too much going on. I have to keep looking at the top and the bottom of the screen way too much. It's not easy on the eyes. top me it looks like the old Ui exploded and landed all over the place. Still love this game though. I've been playing for almost 10 years!

This game is NOT random. It can't be. It is strategically designed for some players to win over others. I have noticed that in some instances, I will ALWAYS win depending on who I am playing. In other instances, I ALWAYS lose to specific players because they are chosen to get all the good letters while I get nothing but vowels and 1 point consonants. I notice I am not the only player to catch this.

I prefer Wordfued to any other Scrabble® type game. Wordfued has a random board that adds an element of excitement not available elsewhere. Additionally there is a chat feature in each board. Have been playing since about 2010 - Love it! 2022: 12 years using and it continues to be a fantastic app. 2023 - still free best version I have seen. 14 years playing and counting. Still a great app! (2024)

If you go off WiFi, the app throws an error message and\or you stop getting notifications. To access your games, you have to then sign out and back in every time. This is on the paid version, Android, Google Pixel 7a. Reached out to support and they first told me it was a router or Internet issue (it's not) and then said it wasn't a bug because no one else EVER has had this issue. Yet reading reviews, I see many people having issues with notifications and logging in that are prob related. Fun.

Been playing this game since 2010! Very clean design, stats are fun, kept up to date! Thank you devs! Update for 2024: Maintain my views from previous reviews! Should be the standard for app design! Also, if there was a donate button, I would donate! It has been a fun way to keep connections with family and friends who live in different states. Thanks again! Feature request?: option to include 3 attempts for non-words before auto skip. Also, option for 24hr to endless turn length.

Absolutely love this app and prefer it immensely over ad-soaked games like WWF. Highly recommend premium, and I love the random board mode. That said, the dictionary IS different from regular scrabble, and because of that some words are not in here. The game most specifically lacks a good variety of 2-letter words that makes you especially suffer late game when the board is more full and slows everything up. I really hope you'll consider expanding the dictionary in your lovely game. :)
