Word of the day updates force you to open app rather than put the word and definition in the notification... Very poor user experience and ultimately I rarely open the notifications. Best bit ia, they include the same repetitive design within the notification as opposed to just some text, so if only the developers could be bothered to utilise this notification space better. All in all, I wish the developers to incur a exponential level of odium for their dismal efforts.

Fantastic app! Extremely helpful and friendly contact team too. I paid to remove adds and initially the app/widget was not working which concerned me so I emailed the app creators and they resolved the issue and kept me updated along the way with cooperative and sympathetic emails. All was resolved very smoothly. I'm pleased with the app, love to learn a new word a day, have added the widget to my homescreen and find the audio pronunciation to accompany the text helpful :). Brilliant!

Nice... Weekly or often those words should be tested either by asking the meaning or by putting the illustration of those and letting us to find the meaning from the list of options... On a higher note., Even image Oriented could be added. Testing of the memory(the words) is seriously missing... Based upon the test output, Mastered words, almost learnt, yet to master should be categorized and allow the user to traverse those words meaning.

It would be a great app until the problem with add arrived. After learning two new words it shows add. But I can't I cut the add even when it's finished! I need to open the app again and again. it sucks! Such a bogus situation!

The words are chosen daily from the top wordbooks, thesaurus, top and trusted dictionaries, and more. The glossary of new words is updated in the app after several checks and reviews. If you want to expand your English vocabulary, this app is a must-have. The app is simple to use and so effective that you won't need any other wordfinder or lexicon.

I like the quizzes, I like the words, however, the ads are awful. It feels like every three clicks or every third word there's an ad. I think I'm going to uninstall and try another app soon.

This app was really awesome at the start, but now after every time I open a word to look at its definition, I have to watch an ad that I cannot close for 30 seconds. I am totally okay with ads, but now that they are after ever word I open, it makes it impossible to get anything done. I will need to find a new app for this function.

So many ads it's unbelievable. I understand the creator has to make money from this app but there's ads on the main menu, every word you click on has an ad at the bottom and the first word I clicked on I had a video ad when I pressed back to go back to the menu. Not for me. I've uninstalled in search for a different app to use.

Very useful app, unlike many other apps, it actually focuses on how to speak than that of grammar and stuff. It's really helpful in learning regular conversations, phrases, even idioms. I'm okay with grammar, but I face issues on how to speak, this app solves that problem. Kudos to the people behind the idea. I recommend to all my friends 🥰

Ads are as always bothersome but my issue is mostly with the interface. It would be more efficient if you could add a concise meaning for the words in the "WOTD" section next to the actual word in the same block. This would conserve the continuity. Next would be the text-to-speech. It's awful. Better TTS & accent preferences would alone make this app 5 stars for most people as it's my fav feature of Google's dictionary.

This app is so easy to use and very helpful. The repetition of words generated by errors I make, forces me to pay attention and learn each word properly. I also find it helpful to write down the correct meaning of words whose meanings were selected incorrectly. The app seems also to repeat words for which I had previously selected the correct meanings, but that I do not convincingly know; therefore, their meanings are reinforced in my mind. Once I get started, it is hard to put down my device. M

It's brought me to the same lost of words as a week ago for a new word notification. It also seems like the same list of word. There seems to be a short Ad after every word. I can't take a test or us the word Widget. Keeps saying "connection problem". I don't like how the option to remove ads they pop up says "No, I like Ads :/". That's kinda arrogant IMO, like their using it to control their using into not wanting to click the no option... Plenty of better options. Try Orphic and Ultimate facts

This app is literally great!!! I found really interesting words and surprisingly it improved my vocabulary and my knowledge about English words kept enhancing! ☺ My experience was great and use of this app is as simple as it can be! No lagging or freezing of screen as I thought it would be! The good thing is that you can collect those words that seem important to you by just a click on the "favourites"! 🌟 I'm really happy with this app, do use it plz! If you are damn serious about English!🎀

Great. I check it everyday in my morning routine. Great ads. Not really molesting in my opinion. The ads are personalized and adapt to your previous searches or interests. The definitions are great. Even though I am a foreigner (my mother language is Romanian) I am able to understand all of the definitions as they are straight to the point and accurate. This app is for those who want to improve their vocabulary step by step eeeevery day.

It's an app with so much potential, I would happily pay a regular subscription if it could be developed further. For example, option to save words from the quiz of the day so that users could learn them, and a higher proportion of words of the day that could be used in an everyday context. This would help improve the user's vocabulary far more than the abundance of quirky, but largely pointless words that won't be put to use. I hope the developers continue to improve the app!

I love checking the widget every day to see the various words of the day. I paid the small price to remove the favorite word limit and I'm glad to have a personal word bank for future use! The only thing that is keeping me from giving this five stars is that I will constantly get a pop-up asking me to take a quiz no matter how many times I cancel it, which is frustrating. Overall, though, glad to have found this app!

The quizzes are awesome because they are timed.. so not only are you learning vocabulary you are learning to think & spot the right word quickly. Scored results are immediate & easy to see your percentage as well as the ones wrong have the right answer displayed ..while the words from the quiz are still fresh in your mind. Simple app but very fun & has exactly what is needed to learn words & to see how many you, in fact, do intuitively know.

Notification doesn't even give the word, so you have to click to see what it is. Then when you get to the app, they play some annoying video ad which doesn't even let you know how long it is. Immediately closed the app and am uninstalling. You guys are way too eager to monitize. Horrible experience for someone using the app for the first time. Good way to lose customers even before they even use your product.

I really enjoying using this app yo build vocabulary skills. I'm using this as part of a home school curriculum with my teenager. * One suggestion: provide a way to pause and back out of the daily quiz without scoring poorly. (Sometimes life mandates stopping. And there's no way we can go back and finish - or retake, the quiz.)

They work in expressions as well as words. Sometimes, the expressions just seem outlandish, and I'd prefer not to have them in my vocabulary. One example is "Steely-eyed missle man." I'm never going to use that to describe an astronaut or engineer. The only functionality it served was to have a laugh with a couple friends. So I guess if you want some goofy words and expressions, give this a try. But if you want to sincerely expand your vocabulary on a daily basis, you should try a different app.
