Many thanks to the developers for sharing this game with us for free! Challenging, fun and educational. I have learned a lot of new words. It seems the droid learns from the individual player over time as well. For example after the first few times of playing a Q or X on an open I (as in QI or XI), it is rare that the droid leaves an I open for me to play those words. Awesome it can be played offline without distraction from those pesky seizure-inducing ads. Thanks again!

Try to play the computer on hard setting. You only get vowels and I point letters. Computer gets high score letters every turn. I don't mind losing if the game is fair. If it's unfair, there's not a lot of incentive to play it, now is there? Fix it! I was directed to "settings" to avoid bad draws option. These were already activated but most of the the draws stink anyway. Like I said, this is not much incentive to play. And it's a shame, because I enjoy it otherwise.

This game allows one to actually play the game instead of infantilizing people with ridiculous prizes and idiotic avatars. I've been playing the game for awhile now on both hard and master, and there is something wrong with either the algorithm or the random number generator on the master setting. Hard is too easy and madter is weighted too much for the computer. Just give the computer a better vocabulary and an honest random number generator.

I switched to this app from another Scrabble-type game because it kept locking up. This app is much better. My one complaint is that they need to change the definition popup so that it doesn't pop up every time I double tap to zoom the screen in. If that were fixed, I'd give it a higher rating.

I don't understand why the grid zooms in. It makes some of the letters unseeable when you're trying to put a word together on the actual grid. I don't know what the point of that is unless it's just to drive me crazy. Other than that, I have been hunting for this game for years. I like playing the Droid. Other people are too slow. So this is perfect, except for the zoom, and I will probably buy the upgraded version soon. Very good game. Time flies when I play it. Thank you.

I'm pretty sure I wrote a review already but here goes again.. It's fun and has some slick options with a very reasonable upgrade charge. My previous game stopped accepting words I used all the time. I contacted the developer but he never responded. This one has more choices including adding words to the dictionary that I know are valid words that help with the Q and Z words. I'm happy with the switch except for the hard to read keyboard. But I'm getting used to it.

This an okay game, but it could be better! For example, this happens everytime I play this game- When I exit the game on my phone, I've noticed that the game will continue to run in the background! Which is extremely annoying, because I have to go into the settings on my phone & Force Stop the game from running in the background. If I don't Force Stop it, than it drains my phone battery! The Developers' of this game need to fix this Huge Issue and/or Bug!

This is almost better--okay, really better than the Scrabble app I was formerly addicted to. I like the subtle changes in scoring tiles and letter values. The design is pleasing and the play at different levels of difficulty appropriate. Sorry Scrabble app, I don't miss you at all. And that trash they tried to pass off as fun, S Go, doesn't hold a candle to Word Master.

This is the best scrabble-type game for android to date! It has an easy-to-use user interface, multiple options for difficulty, and even has options for foreign languages! The ads are minimal and only show show up after you complete a game so it doesn't interrupt your gameplay. You can review the best moves after each play, which is very helpful for learning new words and strategies. I also love that it has a night and day mode so that you can play in low lighting without stressing your eyes.

Very Challenging. Similar to Scrabble. Several levels of play. I play against the computer, and both of us have won several games. My level of difficulty is set on "Easy", and it is quite challenging. 8/1/19 Things have improved. Also I upgraded my app. Still, it's a bit frustrating to watch the opponent (the computer) memorize every word I play. Now it's a little like playing against myself. However, it is what it is, and it's still holding my attention ... and I enjoy playing!

Came here after losing Scrabble. Very minimal ads, you can play the computer AI on different mastery levels. Board is slightly different in the bonus square placements from actual official Scrabble but I assume that's a copyright issue, and if you have the time, patience and inclination, you can customize the board to match the 'real thing.' Very happy I found this.

Love this game. You can choose the level of challenge from ' easy' to 'master'. No waiting for someone else to make their word and no worries that someone is waiting for you. After a move, you can check to see if you made the best possible play or could have chosen better. The master level opponent is good but I'm wicked better lol 83/36 🙂. No glitches or annoying ads. If you love Scrabble, I highly recommend playing this game!

If the dang computer didn't CHEAT it would be great! 5 stars! BUT i've played it enough to see nothing is random! It knows just where to play and what tiles you get from the start. The "easy" play is of course simply the computer knowing what your plays can be with the tiles it throws you. And it can predict all possible plays you have. I think it's a drag i will never play any level but easy--it already uses words i've never heard of-and removes the Q all the time.

Superior in every way to the old Scrabble app, and obviously the new and awful Scrabble Go. This one plays like a really smart human being without words you never heard of and feel made up. Master level is challenging, too, but doable. Plus, this doesn't force you to watch timed video ads between each move. The only thing I miss from the old Scrabble is access to the in-app dictionary. Really love it!

Better than any other Scrabble type App I have tried. My only major issues are with the limited vocabulary of the dictionary. Not just difficult words. Apparently one can unzip one's pants, but not rezip them? And others that the M-W and Oxford pocket and collegiate dictionary editions have. No actual bugs that make play difficult, though. August 2020 Installing when I got a new phone, I tried three times. Blurry, double vision, each time. Was best version around. Now un-useable garbage.

I've been searching for a decent Scrabble app for YEARS with no luck. Pop-up ads, in-game currency, time limits, laggy and bloated UI. This has none of those things and is exactly what I've wanted! It's so simple to navigate, no unnecessary features, but I LOVE the choice of board layouts—never seen that feature in one of the mainstream apps!

I deleted this app because of the flashing ad that pops up above the game being extremely annoying to me. I felt like they wanted to cause seizures to get info off people to supposedly win an iPad. But I missed the game, so downloaded it again. At first the flashing ad wasn't there. Then it was back! But not all the time like before. So I'll see how long I can handle it.

This is the best Scrabble app I've come across! I was looking for a Scrabble app that included two-player hand-off mode, and this has it. The ads are very minimal and take up a small portion of the screen. The pop-up ads only come up occasionally and you can click out of them. The user interface is clean and simple. It's fun to play against the computer too. Overall this app is there for me when I need it, but it doesn't beg me to come play. It's a great way to pass the time on long road trips.

OH HAPPY DAY! i have been looking for a replacement "Scrabble"-type game since my last one was "updated", which ruined it. but this one, Word Master: 1. allows me to use a British English dictionary instead of American English, which i do not know well; 2. the ads are simple and only at the end of a match, NOT in the middle of a match; and 3. my old game started making the ads without any close-out button so i literally had to log out, shut the game entirely, and then restart it. bah, humbug!

Good gaim updating my review. It's been giving me useless letters almost every time I play lately, like 2 or 3 of the same letter, and 2 or 3 of another letter. I've repeatedly went into the settings and clicked on the correct boxes to attempt to stop this, but it keeps doing it. If it doesn't stop soon, I'll uninstall it. It has always been my favorite, but if it continues to do this, it isn't worth playing anymore.
