WILL CHANGE REVIEW AFTER ISSUES RESOLVED. Hi. I've loved the app for Years! But, it hasn't synced since January 2021. I downloaded the beta and installed this app on other devices but I still have hundreds of saved articles stuck in the main app on my android phone. I Googled around for fixes but found none. I couldn't find the feedback button in settings either. HELP!

Was the nearby feature removed in the last update? It was my favorite part of the app and was what made it worth using over a normal web browser. Despite seemingly no longer having a great feature, the app itself is well made, with versatile UI both in look and function. I like being able to tap on a link and seeing a short overview without being taken to the page, and getting to choose from multiple themes is nice.

EDIT: And now images won't load and it's been SEVERAL DAYS. Do they just not care? Changed rating to 1. Previous review: I use the app every day, but they keep making ill-advised changes to the UI. Nobody needs smooth-scrolling during "find-in-page", it just zooms up and down awkwardly while you're typing. Also the table of contents swiping in from the right is fine, but it's way too sensitive--I keep swiping in the TOC by accident while scrolling vertically by *slightly* moving right-to-left.

anyone else notice that the formatting is all screwed up since the new update? the bottom of the wiki pages the last bit of the page overlaps with the "about this article" section. Extremely annoying. and they still only have the history button available from the main page. Why do I have to go all the way to the main page to hit the button and see my page history? That's just incredibly inefficient.

My favorite app by far. I use the Wikipedia mobile app more than any other, perhaps second only to my browser. My only suggestion is to add a way to search your Lists in the dialog, as I have so many that I have to scroll quite a bit to find the right one sometimes. It'd also be nice if it was possible to access the Lists menu from the Explore/New Tab page.

Has some serious usability issues. The main problem is the way tables are rendered on a small screen: they're very difficult to scroll horizontally and the rows cannot be sorted by column. Also, when editing an article, this app trashes edits, without warning, if a browser or other app loads another article. Finally, the inability to pinch zoom images drives me bananas.

There's this small bug where when I have only trending turned on, it says "there's nothing on the explore feed" even though I have trending turned on. It only appears after I tap on my suggested edits and then tap on the explore tab. Refreshing the explore feed doesn't fix it, signing out and then back in doesn't fix it, and reinstalling the app doesn't fix it. The bug starts with the first refresh of the explore tab. Please fix, thank you.

The newest version (as of May 2019) is practically unusable. Highly frequent crashing, particularly when trying to save an article to the reading list. This forces the app to restart and I end up losing what I was reading. This is VERY annoying, especially considering I hadn't experienced this issue on older versions. Please fix this! The app is otherwise fantastic, but this one issue ruins the whole experience for me.

Even as a frequent user of Wikipedia, I was totally unaware of the existence of this app, only discovering it after I searched on a whim. The app overall is excellent, the random article button offers a dangerous game to play if you have any plans of being productive, and the ability to easily curate a personal collection of articles is very nice. My only gripe so far is the apparent lack of a "return to main page" button. If you fall down a rabbit hole, be ready to click the back button a lot.

I'm not basing this rating on Wikipedia's political biases. It's annoying that a new search actually opens a new page instead of replacing the current one. I'm deleting the app because it doesn't support "find in page" when viewing. That makes the web browser much more useful than the app. They are adding that function when editing, so the code is already there. It is not implemented to force viewers to scan the whole article.

Uninstalled. When an article has an image embedded in it, the image is tinted slightly grey. This makes images look low-quality, which downgrades the whole experience. If you click the image, you can see it in full color, but it then takes up the whole screen so you can't read. Second issue: When clicking a link to a wiki article from a browser, the wiki app opens but redirects to a different article. Cache issue maybe? Rather than deal with the hassle, I uninstalled. Browser-based wiki ftw.

This is such a great, well made app. It's probably my favorite app on my phone right now. You can create reading lists of different subjects and they are available offline. Furthermore, when reading an article and clicking on a highlighted word it gives a summary overlay popup that doesn't pull you away from the current article, however you can go to the full article if you desire to. This app and wikipedia in general are one of the silver linings of the attrocious noise the internet and apps have become.

This app is great. It offers a far superior experience to browsing Wikipedia on a mobile browser. Two small UI improvements needed. (1) Scrolling a table to the left can unintentionally trigger the right-side page contents gesture, which makes it annoying to navigate wide tables. (2) When the app is closed with at least one tab open, then reopened, the start screen loads on the first tab; unless I touch the tab counter button, that tab is lost.

EDIT: The issue below is no longer happening, and the app runs great! This app is usually fantastic, and I'll happily increase my rating to a five if a recent issue is resolved. Since the most recent update, the app repeatedly says that it isn't responding when it's working just fine, and it won't stop until I quit out. Even if I go to my home screen or open another program, the error message just keeps coming.

I truly love the wikipedia app, but suddenly the crowned feature, the Places tab, is missing from my version. This feature placed nearby articles on an interactive map. It helped me navigate new cities, and turned the world into a museum. I loved it. It's necessary. I can't for the life of me figure out why it'd be removed. A light has been lost in my life, hence the dim star rating. With it, it'd be 5 stars. Without it, only suffering.

Offline usage, SD storage and great interface. But does have one very annoying flaw, which is how incredibly easy it is to accidentally delete offline pages. There have been several occasions where I attempted to tap on an article, but ever so slightly, swiped a little to the side at the same time, which deletes the page. It dosen't ask for confirmation, but rather just removes the page in a blink of an eye. Although it does allow you to undo this, the page will have to be downloaded again.

I have had some minor issues with this app, but by far, the most disruptive takes place while editing articles. As I edit, the page enlarges the font size at random. The built-in font size function is unaffected, making it effectively impossible to make large edits, as after a short time, I can't even make out sentences due to the extreme zoom. I will gladly provide screenshots and device information. I really, really want to give this a higher rating, so please fix this. ~~~~ :]

Looks good. But there is no search any longer? You can search in page but not Wikipedia itself. update: Thanks the fast reply. I saw the text to search but when I touched close to the W the side menu opened up. It is hard to see the cursor flashing right next to "search Wikipedia" it would be easier 2c if there was a magnifying glassglass or the text disappeared leaving just a flashing cursor.

Wiki app. does provide more tools to view download articles , post , and some are more elaborated. It does need some improvements .Some articles through the app. dosen't always seem to have the same information format , and may be missing current info .It needs to have the option on the prompt to either open the articles online directly or to use the app. It only asks on the popup when searching articles in the browser , under wiki ( cancel or open with wiki app. )

The interface in the app is just not as good as the website, and takes away features that even the mobile website has. My issues: Minimizing sections of the article is not available. The "quick facts" with dates, family, occupations, etc. is hidden by default. The tabs view isn't good, I don't want to adjust how much of each tab I see, I don't want to swipe tabs away like it's a dating app, there needs to be more contrast or a border between tabs. Needs a read in new tab button
