I can't transfer my file from Android to my PC, let alone establish a connection between both devices. I already followed the instructions, but whenever I try to connect, there is always a pop-up message on my PC that said Windows cannot access the folder in my phone related to permission to access the folder, connection with the server couldn't established. Unfortunately there is no clear step-by-step instructions if having this kind of situation.

It has some limitations like you can not view any file type without the system browsers. For example I've tried to view a image file within the ftp server, but it wasn’t able to process that. And most importantly, the image or video thumbnails was not visible as well. Edit: I got the answer useful so changing the app rating from 3 star to 5. Thank you

App is fantastic and Easy to use & works perfectly fine even with direct phone hotspot. I have noticed a small change recently that although my phone is still on Android 11 as previously, But I think after recent Google Play System update, this app can't create new folder on my phone, when I want to create with File Explorer on PC. Another feature would be nice if it would have a Static server address option, not a problem but could be handy & you don't have to enter new address. Thanks 🙏

THE BEST free WiFi ftp app out there. They don't limit on transfer size. You can choose ftp root folder location and your own port. And they dont ask to rate the app in general but here I am. If you want to use your sd card then change your root folder to custom and at the top left you can open the menu and select your sd card. From there try changing the port to refresh everything and it should work.

My USB interface got wet and died (systemic problem with Samsung Galaxy 21 Ultra) and I needed to move files. Loaded WiFi FTP server on my phone, pressed START, fired up Filezilla on the PC, and instantly I could drag and drop files and folders between the phone and my PC at blinding speed. Could they make this any easier? NOT!

I don't know about the latest version. But when I download off my phone to my tablet or computer it locks up and does a partial download. If this program is for real backup. It is slow does not have autoresume after an error or errors. I am going to try the newone and seeif the same problems occur again. If the new one works better I will say it works and update your score. Thanks.

Absolutely fantastic! I've been looking forever for a good solution to transfer files via wifi from my computer to my phone. This makes it super easy. Even though I had to transfer my files to my phone's internal storage and couldn't transfer them directly to my phone's SD card, I just used my phone's file manager to move them afterward, so it wasn't an issue. I used the free FileZilla on my computer to connect to my phone's FTP server.

Can't get it to transfer the files. It connects my phone to my PC via FTP in Windows Explorer. (Didn't try FileZilla. Maybe I should). When I try to transfer a file or folder from my PC to my phone however, it appears to do the move, but when I check the phone, there's nothing there. I even got the Pro version to see if that might have made a difference but it's the same nonfunctional result. Could someone please tell me what else I need to do? Appreciate it. Edit: Thanks for the help and advice. Now everything works fine. Wheuw! If you could only have known the headaches I use to have getting my audiobook folders unto my phone before this, because my USB port is all messed up. You are a god!

Did not work for me (Galaxy S8 with new OS). SD card choice does not work. It shows main storage instead. I got it by using / as FTP root and then /storage/. But the deal breaker is that Windows command line FTP client cannot transfer the files. That may be S8's fault, but I will look for other FTP solutions first.

This has to be one of the best tools out there - it's lightweight, as simple as it can get and it creates a solution for something you may have had no idea you'd want until you had it. No more connecting cables, no more random disconnects - just start and go - absolutely stellar and thank you!

I've only used the app for a couple of days so far and I spent part of that time just figuring out how ftp works (haven't used it in many years). Once I understood that I liked this app for its conformance to standards, its reliability, its compatibility with Linux as well as Windows, and the ability it provides for both GUI and console interfaces. Now I need to figure out the best Android file manager to use with it.

EXCELLENT! Except for the glitch that when the app is started (Free or Pro) it indicates an Incorrect User Name as "2221" The Correct User Name should be "android" and 2221 is the Port Number. So happy with the performance, I paid Rs 10 as a Thank You & got the Pro version. Small sized app so unlikely to have spyware or bloat on it.

As an Android app developer, I'm always looking for quick and efficient ways to help with my app testing. Using this simple, yet very useful app, I'm able to quickly connect and upload new packages from my PC to my Android devices for testing. Although the free version does have ads, I run it in the background, so they don't bother me. Bottom line, if you need a quick and easy way to transfer files to and from an Android device, this should be your go-to app.

My phone's USB connection has died. Need to be able to move photos and videos from the phone to my desktop. Making the phone have an FTP server let's me run an FTP client on my desktop and "get" the images and videos. This thing works great. I had my phone open a WiFi hotspot and connected the desktop to the phone's WiFi. Nice fast connection that way. Started up this FTP Server app. Then, the ancient ftp client that runs in the dos box on my desktop easily let me do the mget commands to fetch my stuff. Yeah, I suspect filezilla is a way better and easier to use FTP client, but I didn't have it downloaded and I was familiar with the command mode client (yes, I am ancient, too) Anyway, this little FTP server works great. Choose your favorite client and skip the flakey USB cable to your phone. Thanks!

Love it, great for discreet file transfer or NAS on the fly situations. Minimum ad's and great functionality. I did have an issue where I would send get (file) in cli, and upon completion I was missing .20 gb. Overall file size was expected as 2.6gb received 2.4 and obvious md5 mismatch. Was resolved by ftping via browser. Still odd.

App is great for viewing phone files on PC without wires. I’m having a problem with file properties though. The date and time of files (created, modified, etc) differ between a wired connection to my phone and the FTP connection. For file viewing or drag and drop operations, this isn’t an issue. But using the FTP server for wireless backups between my phone and PC isn’t working because the backup program wants to overwrite all files on phone due to the time offsets. Any help is appreciated.

Quick and easy setup, works right away. Only problem i'm having is changing the root directory and it not clearly indicating the effect in the app. Update: problem seemed to be on the pc client side--closing the client and reconnecting updates the change in directory on connect. I do have some periodic timeout issues if i don't leave the app open and on screen. Great app otherwise.

This has to be one of the most convenient apps out there. I find myself downloading a lot of files on my phone, and I'm too lazy to dig out a cable to transfer them to my PC. Now I can pop open an app like FileZilla on my computer and pull those files off my phone without any hassle. Plus, there doesn't seem to be a cap on speed, so there are times files transfer faster wirelessly than they do over USB.

This worked great and allowed me to easily keep my files backed up after and Android updated prevented my phone from connecting to my computer. Never had any issues with the app. I do wish there was a way to see if active transfers were going on, so it start the download in my computer walk away and know when it is safe to turn to server off.

TL;DR - Get it, it's simple, it works. Consider buying the pro version. This is a nice little FTP app. I've never had any issues with it so far. Seems pretty stable! :: :: (My only gripe is that it's not open source, but that's my personal opinion.) :: :: I've transferred tons of files to and from my OG Xbox, NAS, routers, Windows & Linux desktops, you name it. Other apps I tried in the past had issues with authentication or non standard port numbers, and this one doesn't.
