Really nice to see that the developer is constantly updating the app, which is always appreciated. Though with this new update on 01 Oct 2021, the YouTube app keeps singing out my account. Quite annoying :(

Not compatible with my G6 or Pixel 2. It was connected a couple of times. Then drops connection and says DEVICE NOT COMPATIBLE. Fix this horrible app please. I can't use features I paid for on my JVC head unit.

For some reason it does not work with samsung galaxy s8 paired with the JVC KW-V840BT stereo.. purchased stereo for the "hand free" capabilities (take phone calls, and gps) but it's been nothing but a headache. Fix the issues please.

I've made better apps in my first year of my computer programming degree. This is honestly embarrassing and it doesn't work at all, there's not even proper error handling, so idk what even is the problem, all I know is it's broken. This is honestly gonna cause me to go return my $500 head unit. How can you sell these advertising web link and it doesn't even work.

Seems like some rokie developed this software/ or JVC doesn't want to spend money. Actually you need to install two app on the phone, Weblink by Abaltec, then JVC smartphone controller software from JVCKenwood. The 2nd software starts the server on the phone. Then you get connected. The product is developed in Malaysia I think, the remote control says so(made in Malaysia). Waze is good, but the screen adjustment should be there as screen doesn't fit in car display. Need some tweaking, my request to JVC is that make the software open-source, we will make it better.

When I was 11 years old, I was kicked in the nads so hard that it almost shattered my left testicle, and made me pass out. I honestly thought it was the most painful & unpleasant experience I'd ever endure - until I installed this app.. I'd rather relive that day when I was 11, than spend another second using this particular app. Just sayin'...

very flaky. I have an S9, and this app repeatedly disconnects. Right in the middle of a trip I lost connection and it would not reload. I tried rebooting the phone and it still would not load properly. Very frustrating.

Cannot get this app to work for the life of me with my Galaxy S9 & KW-M740BT. It just constantly says 'disconnected, please connect to a compatible head unit' . The Waze GPS unit that came with my JVC head unit is basically useless until this app is fixed. Absolutely garbage app from what I can tell from the other reviews. Please fix ASAP.

What a POS. Failure to work, over runs the screen so you can't see the edges, wants you to make public everything on your phone. God knows what they will do with your contact list or why they need your pictures. NSA and the FBI know why they want your precise location. A total and complete failure. Should have tried this before I bought the car.

I resorted to using Apple Carplay. This app didn't connect to the headunit when using my S8. Also, if anyone is getting a "Please put your car in park" when using Android Auto, it's ultimately an Android issue. Android has a garbage policy that checks that the car's parking brake status. You need to ground the brake to the head unit or install a bypass.

My M740BT, my Samsung S5, and I absolutely HATE this app. It's only ever run once and not properly, the app is intrusive and the phone constantly displays a message if you uninstall it that there are no compatible JVC apps on the phone when connected by USB. Very annoying if you just want to connect the bloody phone to listen to some music on the handset. And as others have mentioned, why is this needed when Android Auto exists? And why can't you get that to work on this unit properly either? I'm fairly technically minded and after 4 hours of sitting in my car with the unit draining both the car and the phone's batteries while trying to set up this rubbish I've been reduced to leaving this review out of frustration. Unless JVC/Kenwood update some firmware and some apps I won't be recommending this unit to anybody, it barely has any more functionality than the OEM unit it replaced while these features aren't working.

I got a great JVC radio for my birthday and was excited about all the things that were SUPPOSED to be available, like GPS via Waze or Maps, connecting to Spotify and much more. Honestly NOTHING works. It is as if Android Auto and WebLink for JVC are in a constant fight. All of a sudden Waze pops up on the phone screen, disappears and changes to Android Auto or WebLink to then tell me I have been disconnected because I have an unsupported device and my radio screen goes black. Very ANNOYING!!!

This app sucks. But, I think I've finally figured it out. Here's what I did. I updated the HU firmware from JVC website. Then, in your Android settings, go to Accessibility. Make sure JVC web host is on. Now, here's the tricky part. You need to have the right USB cable. My assumption is that you need to use short cable. I've been struggling with the connection issue, but having changed to short (approx. 10cm), the connection has been great. But, I still give it 3 stars because the lack of suppor

Thank goodness I am not the only one that finds this app among one the all time worst apps ever. I am having difficulty with Android Auto as well but that's another story that together makes this 500$ upgrade pretty much useless. Look at this way Web link. Your not the only completely incompetant app provider for the car radio and cellular phone interface.

application does not function with Android Q beta. it thinks that my head unit is not compatible with web link. Sometimes it says it needs to be updated! However, I have the newest update at all times. it will flash to say that it's about to turn on to my head unit, then shuts off and fails.

only had it a week so far, but really like it. i have a google pixel phone and can run voice, navigation, and everything fine. when i first plug in the phone it does take a little bit to register on the radio but a little patience is not a big deal. I wish u could add apps to it is the only bad thing. I guess i will see hiw this gies as i see all the bad reviews, but for me so far so good and I love it.

Just find another radio, the Weblink app function is based on a a few apps that must have bought into the app. You cannot add apps nor can you use the system without the JVC weblink even if you use android auto. You will have consistent pop ups when you connect to the usb cable telling you you must download weblink...this is dysfunctional, run away.

In all fairness, I bought the JVC KW-V640BT and I could not be happier with it. It is a very clean sounding head unit with a lot of home audio features to fine tune the sound. Also keep in mind that JVC did not write the Weblink APP but agreed to use it. The problem I am having issues with is the same APP everyone else is complaining about. The JVC Weblink app. I have not had any connection issues, but the APP is basically useless. The only apps the weblink has that are slightly useful and will display on the screen are the YouTube app and the Yelp app. The map it displays is worthless. WAZE will play through the speakers but will not display and I have to have the JVC connected to Weblink to do that plus I can’t listen to anything else while the WAZE is running. Why do I need Weblink when I can listen to WAZE through the JVC Bluetooth? I took Weblink off of my phone. It was just useless and just took up room on my phone. I can’t believe that some company spent time and money to researched and developed such a useless app and THEN RELEASE IT.

If you are having all kinds of connection problems, also install the JVC Smartphone Control app. After doing that I didn't have any problems and things started working as I'd expect. Was so frustrated for over a year with webkink as I couldn't get it to reliably work and multiple phones. Using my Pixel 2 with Android Q is working fine now.

Terrible, it continually prompts you to do things while driving, minimizes your maps and causes actual driving danger and distractions. Will not let you exit the app will not let you continue without agreeing to pages of fine print all while trying to get somewhere in your car. Not ideal for an app for people who want to drive safer.
