The most reliable at capturing recordings without failing to record, as with some apps. CONS: 1) space hogging WAV file format easily consumes over 1 GB of space for recorded weekly live events recording 2) some update now randomly cycles visually annoying interface colors instead of leaving default colors as they were (registration required to stop the new annoyance 'feature'). Uninstalled.

I love Voice Recorder! It's incredible having it right there, available any time inspiration comes up! I can take it out of my mind and save it on tape. The audio quality is excellent too. I just wish someone could tell me how to transfer all of my recordings, to my new phone. I transferred the app but the audio isn't coming through and it is the same make and model phone. A Galaxy Edge 7. Thanks for your help!!

Really cool! Really helpful. Really fast & "CD QUALITY..." and eerily like one of those Tape Recorders made in the 70s and late 80s!!! It allows you to choose from a selection of different looking Cassette Tapes, and a even choose from a selection (just as wide, ) of different Cassette Tape Recorder, makes and models. BOTH OF THESE OPTIONS, are very cool! Hahaha I haven't experimented with "Voice Recorder & Audio Editor," long enough, but it seems like GREAT software; it has everything I want.

I like the ole School look and the simplicity of the cassette player. I had downloaded it onto another phone, and had a problem with ALLOW button. It will not record, if the permission is not granted. But this phone had no problems, so I am looking forward using it many times with taking notes for my novel. Thank you, Byl Butler

I love the UI (user interface) and UX (user experience) and while I have read other's complaints about not being able to find their files after a year (when not re-subscribing) I usually share them with myself (by email) after recording anyway (which they have made very easy) but I love the overall experience of using the app, I love having both WAV and MP3 options, and the graphic design (of the tape decks) is really, really good.

2/2011 Update....I still love this recording app!!! 1 4/2020 Great app! Records clear, easy to label, save, send. Trying to fast forward and rewind can be difficult at times, may not always save the correct hours when transferring to save, does not continue where it left off once closing the app and returning. Still use it and like it.

Baffling randomness in the styles of tapes/recorders, apparently customizable with a subscription? Never even saw the options to change things up, until long after I picked up the app. Well-hidden behind an unintuitive UI, I assumed it wasn't even an option. Would gladly pay for a premium version of this app, but their subscription scheme approach confounds the user. Not a pleasant experience.

This is super easy to use & share audio w/. NO intrusive ads! Especially nice for us who used to use old style cassette recorders. It's like a blast from the past only the clarity is much better! I highly recommend this for ease of use and the ability to save and/or share your recordings. U can record for as long as u want, no holding anything down while u record just hit record, stop when done, save to share from ur phone's files. Done! 👍👍

So close to being exceptional but too many fatal flaws. As of 1/13/24 there is NO WAY YO GET YOUR RECORDINGS OFF THE APP. When I tap "share" the dialogue just closes and nothing happens. When I tried to locate and share the file manually I found that the files are saved to a inaccessible "data" folder. I recorded my grandma's funeral with this app for my cousin's who couldn't attend. The only way I was able to share the recording was by playing it back while recording to another app. PLEASE FIX!

I have gotten a lot of great use from this app. Even gladly paid the subscription for it. Unfortunately, due to Samsung not allowing third party apps to access Bluetooth microphones, this app is less useful to me than it may be for others. If you want to wire in a microphone, then this is going to be awesome for you and probably worth the subscription.

I'm confused. First, it really seems like most of these 5 star reviews are friends of the developers or they're paid to review this app. No one is that in love with a recording app. Second, this app doesn't do anything. It won't let me edit an audio clip, not even to shorten it, and now it won't even let me skip ahead when listening to the clips. If I try to scroll forward it just stops and goes back to the beginning. If you answer a phone call it stops recording. Is it just me? Cause it sucks

Great audio, easy pick-up. Love this app. It's so easy to record worship music at church. It picks up a great mix of sounds you want to hear, and not much background noise. Unlike many other similar apps, this one is much more discriminating when it comes to differentiating between music and white noise. It is also great for recording speech, whether standing near the speaker, or across the auditorium.

Works great for recording face to face conversations. My suggestion would be to add the option/ability to record phone conversations...both sides of the conversation. With my memory fading, it would mean a lot to have that ability. I'd like to record what my doctor says when they call, so I can catch all of the details and instructions, etc. As of right now, I can only hear my own voice asking questions, then silence as they speak/reply. Please see if you can add that function. I'd love it!

Interface is simple and charming, but I paid the somewhat exorbitant price to get the ad free version. Then I discover that it will not record over 2 minutes if set to 48k (the default). I have tons of available storage space, by the way. I had to reduce quality to 16k to get it to exceed the 2 minutes (haven't tested the "limit" on that yet). Also, share does not function. At all. I'll try to use it because I paid so much for it, but I can't help feeling like I got scammed.

Well I didn't have a voice recorder on my tablet. I'm studying a whole bunch of materials for a new job and I wanted to record each section and describe each in more detail. I was installed in about 15 seconds and had absolutely no problem recording stopping naming it and recording another section and renaming them each one at a time very simple to save and playback yeah I give it five stars very simple if you want to record stuff and save it. A 4 year old could do it it's that easy

I've used my Samsung phone's native recording app because I love the features, but have never liked the sound quality. Recently, I've searched for a great sounding voice recording app. I've downloaded and deleted fifty or more apps before finding this one. I made hundreds of recordings to compare sound quality with various recording settings etc. This app won out. It has the BEST SOUND QUALITY. June 2024, downgraded from 5 to 3 stars. After 2 years I am no longer able to share recordings.

I really enjoy using this app. The different tape decks and tapes are so much fun. I love being able to label my tapes just like the "Good Ol' Days". My favorite part has to be when I click, "SAVE" and it makes the sound of the tape ejecting. WHAT'S BAD: You can't share your recordings, you can't cut or edit your recordings, you can only access your recordings within the app. These are all things people want but aren't being made available. This could be such a great app.

Edit. Since they went from free to free versus paid, the app has gone downhill. For instance you can no longer easily share saved files, you have to search for them (good luck), then transfer to a computer or somewhere else in the phone (If you can get them to transfer) and email them. Several other issues reduce my five-star rating to a three. Given the changes, I'm unwilling to pay for pro in case I run into the same problems.

WARNING: APPEARS TO HAVE NO EDITING CAPACITY. APPEARS TO HAVE NO ABILITY TO BRING IN AUDIO FILES NOT RECORDED ON THIS APP. I used the free version. If the paid version has an editing function & the ability to bring in audio files that WAS NOT made clear. I liked the look, sound & simplicity of this app very much. If they will clear up these matters, I 'd be happy to revise my ratinng. Also, I think it was tracking or sharing your location? Why?

Have had Voice Recorder & Audio Editor for several years, on both Motorola & Nokia, Android 12. Forced to finally subscribe to Premium, since ads had jerky movements which gave me seizures & migraine. Otherwise CUTEly retro, easy after a few minutes. Will only record sound from the air, not from inside the phone. Turn phone sounds up as loud as possible. Put phone calls on speaker as a matter of habit.
