This app is so cool, just learning new words, and I would've given it 5 stars, but it lost a star because some of the words in the definition are hard to pronounce, and I wish there was a way to hear to how to pronounce them (like the main word). Maybe when you click on the definition it speaks the word you click, and a smaller speaker button next to the definition to speak the whole thing. This would be greatly appreciated

I'm a lifetime learner & a writer. I love the ability to set vocab level (beginner to advanced) & frequency of new vocab. I REALLY appreciate the features- background look, the suite of features for words- to save, download, star, and even an audible pronunciation of words at a speaking pace. The AI learns, & offers words similar to ones you star, customizing YOUR specific vocab the more you use it. Excellent for anyone- from test prep to simply expanding vocab, at any level. HIGHLY recommend!

Vocabulary is a wonderful app to use when trying to expand your vocabulary subconsciously. It leaves you desiring more when scrolling through the list of words and their definitions, even allowing you to cater it to your preference! It strengthens the meaning behind your words and the frequency of those words. The widget feature is also pretty nifty as you're able to see the word on display while scrolling through your apps!

I'm actually a bit disappointed in this app. I like the layout and the word selections are good, however, they show you the word once and unless you go back you don't see it again. I had thought there'd be a sort of algorithm that would repeat the words at intervals to help you remember them. Most standard vocabulary builder apps offer this now. I wish I had realized this before paying for the annual subscription.

Serves its purpose well. I like the notifications! I who like an offline dictionary and thesaurus but there are other apps for that. My recommendation is Vocapture! Other suggestions are to implement more app background pics users can switch between, and to allow us to switch between categories: adjectives, verba, adverbs, and conjunctions

The app is pretty simple. My favorite thing is the widget for my screen. It's super straightforward, but you can set the intervals for how often you want a new word. At first I thought maybe I want just one per day so I can practice using it all day, but I found myself being impatient for a new word, so now I have it set for every hour. I forgot how much I liked English in school. Excited to have this app.

Very bad. Nothing states until after you set it up that it's only a free trial and payment is required to proceed. At that point, app took over my entire screen and would not allow visibility of my phone's on-screen navigation buttons to escape from the "pay or log in" screen. The only way out, was to click on login (even though I wasn't registered) and then the resulting error screen allowed me to close the app. These are major, major problems. Be clear up-front & don't take phone hostage!!

I really appreciate this app! Thank you for all your hard work! A few things: it would be really cool if you would consider putting in an option to remove if the word is a verb/etc or not in the custom word settings. Maybe custom capitalization could be an option. I love to use your widget function for not only vocabulary but also flashcard type questions and answers. Lastly, the widgets text size customization can get a little wonky. Even though I choose a small font, it still displays big. Ty!

Yes! Finally! A daily vocab app with a widget! I love not having to open the app just to see a new word! Way better than the competition! I have 3 suggestions plz consider: 1) it would be awesome if the pronunciation was provided in text in the description, b4 the definition. Like in dictionaries. 2) also if there was a test at the end of the week there was a test to see how much I learned, and score was kept 3) some type of point system for using the app consistently! Thank you!

This app seems great, but the paywall absolutely kills it. $20 a year for words? I can get a year long Nintendo switch online subscription for that amount. A $20 one time purchase? Sure, I'd pay for that. But every year? Crazy talk. Also the free trial is only three days, not even a week! This isn't nearly enough time for a free trial. I can't review anymore of the app because in order to use any of it, I have to agree to the trial. What a joke.

always one of the first apps I download, so customizable, cheap considering the value of services, honestly always has been #1 most customizable widgets, stunning. you guys are a w e s o m e . I always recommend! did notice errors when trying to customize the layout that the files and unsplash options do not pop up, so you cannot choose an image within the app. just a pop up error in the coding I'm guessing! sorry to create more work though. you all deserve a lifetime of paid vacations!

I liked this app at first, especially because of its beautiful design. Over time, I've been disappointed to learn that even the advanced words are more rudimentary than I would like. The app almost never suggests a word I'm unfamiliar with. I might also like if additional definitions were provided for other parts of speech. I now prefer Merriam Webster's word of the day email.

This is such a cool little app to help motivate you to expand your vocabulary. I encourage everyone to try it. You can pick from 3 levels of words, set a daily (more or less often) reminders, and it also has a function that gives the correct pronunciation of each word. I find it fun to try and use at least one of the words at some point throughout my day. It's a very easy to use and customize app. Give it a try and see if you can use a formally unknown word in your vocabulary for the day!

I'm giving it 4 ☆'s because I'm just using the free version which is basic but works for me. I love learning about new words, even words I already know. Under the word is the definition, and an example of how to use it in a sentence. It gives the option to listen to a recording of the pronunciation, as well as save your favorite words. I like that it helps to exercise my mind as I grow older by creating new neurological pathways every time I learn more in order to keep my mind sharp.

SO FAR VERY GOOD! I love that I have a widget to use for brushing up on my vocabulary skills. Seems I often get into a rut using fewer of the really great words I used to say. The only thing that I can see that would be an improvement on this app would be a phonetic display of word pronunciation. I love that there few to no ads and that each word is defined and used in a sentence showing correct usage.

It's completely free and I love that. this taught me some words that I never even knew existed. (yes my grammar is poor). every couple hours or so, I will get a notification for a new word. I love it, 100% recommend. Update: there is a premium that is really good. 19 bucks a year (after a WHOPPING 30 DAY free trial) and you can choose different backgrounds/themes, AND specify what type of word you would like to learn. It's amazing! (But they won't continuously prompt you to get premium)

Would be perfect, but unfortunately, I came across so many definitions that were just inaccurate. Then there are entries like this (verbatim): NEUTER: ADJ. NOT MALE OF FEMALE Example: THE NEUTER CAT SLEPT SOUNDLY. So, that was exciting bc the ui is nice, and then immediately sad because the one functionality is not done right.

What annoys me about this app is that sometimes the words are spelled wrong or have incorrect (or only partly correct) definitions--not great for an app that promises to expand your lexicon. For example, I just got the word "filagree" which is a misspelling of filigree. I assume this is due to the feature that allows users to add their own words, and I suppose that those words are then shared to other users because I have no other explanation for this lack of quality assurance. Frustrating.

I've enjoyed the app enough as a free user to subscribe to the premium however as of being a premium user, I have found the quality of new vocabulary to have taken a massive drop. I have my word preference set to "advanced" rather than beginner but I am still routinely handed vocabulary that I can only describe as... Self explanatory. It does not frustrate me enough to feel regret but I don't think I would resubscribe once my payment expires as it hasn't been justifying it's value for money

I've had this app for about a year now. I absolutely loved it at first, but now I find the words are too simple - I believe the reason is to push you to purchase their subscription. I would absolutely pay $19.99 to have this app forever. But every year? I think they should come up with a better app model if they want people to not go and search for other apps.
