Well as for me I have been listening to VOA on Shortwave, times have changed, but looking at attacks like ransomware on internet may have its side affects and anytime internet shut across the globe,shortwave becomes handy in places internet is weak VOA TV channel has not been on Indian cable and if it is have never come across if it is free to air

Why is there no dark theme option in voa news android app settings? This option is much needed, please add it in the next version

When it works, it works well. But ... the listed program title often is actually something else -- music instead of news, etc. Also it often just stops. Sometimes I can restart it. Sometimes not.

Very hard on the eyes. Low contrast text on the white background is really keeping me from gaining any desire to stay in the app when others are more comfortable to use.

Nearly five years later, I enjoyed VOA more than ever. From A54 ( Africa 54 ) to podcasts of the latest African news, sports ( kinda missing watching sports boo hiss COVID-19 🤢) and music, and news here in the US...and the World. Keep up with the great work and yes, a free press DOES matter in this day and time.

it's very useful and provid meaningful news for us. Since I'm an Arakanese from Myanmar, to go abroad and read international news, need to be proficient in English. So thisssss app provides me more English and right news. Recommend to use thissss.

In fact this app is wonderful, once connected even if data network is not friendly, it will continued as if all is well with the network. The only advice is there should be place for history, where you can be able to listen to news of previous dates.

Remembers my beautiful past that I found VOA on Short wave band and listening to it while dreaming of America which is located other side of the world! And sending letters to voa and receiving beautiful calendars and other souvenirs by post. Now I am older and so happy to find this app! I have one request. Please add Nigh Mode for this app with your next update.

It is an excellent VOA Amharic app. It helped me listen to my country news while at work and on travel etc... my comments it would be great if we can access back full news right from this app like on the web. I wish I can forward and back but no option like that on dayily news. It would be good if more news to be posted.

Radio means radio only. Should be radio only. Radio should not be a TV. Should support Audio only. But your stupid APP giving excess forms like video. Text display and other rubbishes. It makes the App too heavy to function lightly. Your previous blue colored App was good like that. But the present red colored App messed up all. Please revert to old simple ONLY RADIO (ONLY AUDIO) functionality. Or provode such a simple and light APP. Waiting.Thank you.

The app had been improved in certain areas but had been downgraded in very important areas.The app no longer auto cache news materials,when u come back offline the news is gone, you now only find a blank interface as against the previous version where u can read news cached offline.This new version no longer support widget,widget gives u the ability to view news headlines right from your home page,d audio cast no longer play in d background, I hav to stop using d app,pls return these features!

Quality reporting, global perspective, elegant interface. The Voice of America is back and better than ever. The VoA app offers customizable news categories and type sizes. Richly illustrated, though photos may look a bit dark on some displays. One for your short list.

Most of the apps I have found quite good , But some were sham . Some were laced with occult power. I had to struggle with a lot of cybertronic / magnetronic jeoopardies . Also, often, some apps were modified , manifesting irrequisite funtions . Even when the handset was under lock with encryption , it was same . Somebody told me ," Countrywise, there are different versions of cybertronic gadgets." Moreover, there is high-tech sci-fi digital propaganda warfare cyber network operating....

The audio version of this app has not played on my device for some time now. It used to play, until a few weeks ago when I dowloaded an update from Google Play. The "Listen" feature is messed up! VOA team, you need to do something urgently, because the experience can be very frustrating. Thank you.

Tried an app that claims to offer news from all over the world with regional options but no Canada. There’s a US option, but even without selecting it, most of the content is still US based or related. The world is bigger than America. If you're going to offer global news, actually include other countries, including Canada.

I was glad to find this app. It brought back memories of how I found VOA and others channe surfing on sw and mw. However, nostalgia won't make up for the lack of background playback! I can't put on some headphones, lock the screen and throw my phone into my pocket! I can't even navigate away from something I'm listening to browse other content! It seems this and some other functionality used to be in older versions. Please put them back! They are fundamental to a good media playback experience.

This app was really good but suddenly it is not. Now there are "forced" notifications of news articles (which I could block) but this major new version of the app (unannounced) truncates articles at a particular number of lines so you can not read the whole article! The new version also starts playing audio by default which is really bad since often that is not appropriate. The developer feedback email address bounces and office 360 says it does not exist.
