Can't really review yet as I've only had the system for 24 hours, but the android app is too buggy. I have particularly noticed it crashes any time I try to change the volume of my panel and extended ringer/doorbel chime. Turn it down at night to be able to go out for a smoke without waking anyone up. So far that's the only issue I've had. Any fix suggestions or workarounds would be apprectiated

The app used to work well. Now, it takes 2-5 minutes to come up when I try to get into it. When I get a notification of someone detected on the doorbell, it won't pull up the activity. It just freezes. I've tried restarting my phone and even deleting and reinstalling the app. It will work for a day. Then goes back to not working. I don't know what they did in the last update, but it makes the app almost useless.

I hate the lag when talking to people through the cameras. It's not reliable enough to even attempt using. The playback is glitchy. Passing cars will freeze but everything else on screen continues chugging along and I love seeing my family glitch back and forth on the back porch. We have fast internet and good phones. I enjoy the smart home aspects like thermostat and lock control. I found a bug today. Trying to change the hub volume from my Samsung crashes the app immediately.

After I finished paying off the devices, now the cameras record but I can't watch the clip on my phone. And it will notify me of someone there but won't load when I click to view. Called in and had system rebooted, did not solve the problem. Company was going to charge to have someone come out. Nothing has been done to resolve issue. Paying for nothing.

The app is trash. You freeze up when trying to disarm and arm. Trying to watch live feed is near impossible without it trying to re load.every 2 to 3 seconds. Last, you can't hear audio on play back. What is the point of playback if ya have no audio. Ohh and my cameras go down for hours at a time too. But if you complain to much the service tec threatens to put your account on a non Serviceable. Worst 3k I have spent. People on the phone are awesome and good to work with I will say that.

The system is okay. Video does lag or not even show up. Tech support is no help, I was on the phone almost 40 minutes with no resolution. I purchased the chime extender for my home so I can hear my doorbell ring when I'm upstairs and there is no option to add the chime extender in the app or to the home system yet. It works but just can't add it to my devices. It's also a big inconvenience being logged out of the app when it's used multiple times daily.

The app used to work fine but it is completely useless now. I have talked to support and was told that my internet connection wasn't strong which was not true because it doesn't even work in my home next to the wifi box. The notifications appear almost 15 minutes late. Now the app doesn't even open. Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't work. I am leaning towards switching companies when my contract is up because of all of the app problems.

The app worked fine for about 4 years with the exception of cameras taking longer than necessary to load. Now I'm having problems with the camera live feed (for over a month) and nobody in customer service seems to know how to help. I don't believe this app is compatible with the Pixel 8 phones. I am actually looking into switching to another company where I can fully use my equipment.

Reviewing marked events is fine but rewinding and trying to pin-point a specific time is a huge pain. You think you find the part you want while scrubbing the video but when you go to play it, it shows up at a completely different time. If you think youre too far back and use the 2 or 4x to speed up until you find it, nope. Its too choppy. Sometimes the video freezes while the sound plays. Im also not a fan of the volume being CRANKED all the way up every time i want to watch a replay.

The application keeps getting worse. Now, I am not even able to see the main screen and have to rush in the house to turn off the alarm when I get home. The video feeds don't even load, and it's just permanently slow. A damn joke of an application for an otherwise decent security system. I wouldn't recommend Vivint to anyone solely due to application.

Really wish this app would work. The iOS version seems to work much better, but this is a chore. You open the app and it just does nothing. Wait 30s until you get to a usable screen, then it takes 5 or 6 tries to arm or disarm my system. Faster just to walk inside and arm my house from the panel and then leave. Updating, deleting, redownloading doesn't seem to generally improve use. Been like this for almost 4 years now.

It's pretty much usless if there is an emergency or if you want to see anything in real time. It lags horribly and shuts down constantly. I've uninstalled and reinstalled too many times to count. The microphones don't work well in the doorbell or inside camera. Not sure how much longer I'll use Vivint. I've been a customer for over 10 years, you would think I would have the best equipment available.

Disappointed to say the least Constantly having to reboot the panel to sync with my app and sensors, my rules aren't working anymore, I'm NEVER notified when my doorbell is pushed. I'm really not just disappointed with the app, but with Vivint. Wishing I would have stayed with Amp. This app just keeps getting worse and worse! It takes forever to load, clips don't play, can't rewind to a specific time. Ridiculous! Do you have an IT department or high school interns?

App freezes frequently, automatically closes when trying to delete videos, or doesn't even open at all. Causinga message to appear on my phone stating: Vivint closed because this app has a bug. Try updating the app after its developer provides a fix for this error. I sent a screenshot of this to tech support and was told the app is fine. I was advised to uninstall and reinstall it. Which changed nothing. In addition, as mentioned by others, not all events are recorded as they're supposed to.

Your equipment that you can buy with the alarm is terrific but your app is terrible, buggy and really needs a complete overhaul. Disarming and arming the alarm works great for the most part. Viewing cameras is slow but ok (although it's a real shame that cameras aren't viewable on an Alexa). But rewinding DVR (a feature we pay extra for) to a specific time point is incredibly clunky and frustrating. It would be nice if you had an app for PC and Mac too so I could pull cameras up on my laptop.

Not sure what changed in the last update, but now, when I get a notification and attempt to check the app, I can't get anything but the home page to load. No matter how many I attempt to I restart it, it won't load any other pages. I can't see activities, video clips, or adjust my lights/ thermostat. What's the purpose of the app if none of the functions work. Please fix this.

Generally OK. Some things are frustrating, such as seeing part of a notification, going to the app and nothing matches the notification, especially around imminent alarm triggers. Today, after the update installed yesterday, I am getting notifications but the app opens to a black screen with no UI controls. So, it is currently not usable.

Can't use playback option anymore, you can only see stored clips. And some days it doesn't even store clips. I've rebooted everything and our bill is current. So im not sure why I paid almost 4k for a system that doesn't even work like it did the 1st month we had it. We've kept it for nearly 3yrs but after the 1st month the playback option was gone and now it's not even showing recent events. I'm missing an entire week of events. Cleared out all events to see if it fixes the issue. But we'll see

The system and service are good, but the application is slow it takes me back to the dial-up days of the early internet...the exact opposite of what you want from something tasked with saving your life. This is, of course, assuming the app even loads at all. There is about a 50/50 chance when you click the icon that it will just show a deadscreen indefinitely. Oh, and the playback feature never seems to work on the doorbell cam. This app is an absolute disaster.

The vivint app is very slow. No matter how good my connection is. Half the time the cameras will not pull up the feed and if they do, there is a good possibility there will be no sound. Playback almost never works. It will either buffer endlessly, play the feed very choppy, or once again no sound. This has been an issue for over 2 years and they lock you in a 5 year equipment contract with barely any time to cancel. Do not use Vivint as your home security system.
