21/06 Latest update unuseable, filters crash it, click to see deals goes nowhere Used to be great, loved it. Now introduce subscription, remove features on free version annoying ads. They taking users data/reviews etc, they make money from purchases & now want to charge to provide the data for their app & to buy wine? Also removed many small private sellers that had unique wines. Way too greedy. Will have to find another app, hopefully someone takes over and provides similar to original vivino.

You monsters. Put back the numerical ratings. Again.Thumbs up/down is useless. Vivinos latest update makes it so a 61% match is equivalent to a 91% match. Support doesn't respond to open support tickets opened through the website. chat support feature in the app is not real--it hangs or crashes. I would like all my ratings data before I uninstall and delete account. Update--an update summer 2023 restored the numerical match quality--only for another update to remove it again Aug 2023. Shameful.

12/28/23. Every update gets worse and my rating has moved from 4 to 3 and now 2. It now fails to identify wines- 2 of mine in a row. Way Too many pop-ups ones that gets plastered right in the middle of something I'm trying to do! Also a suggestion system that tells me that i won't like wines that I do, and a picture taking function that worked tons better 4 revs ago. I need the app from 2020!

Great way to categorize and investigate wines. The label recognition is typically really good! Often the first thing I do on getting a bottle is see what people are saying about it on here, what notes might be present, if it is preferred chilled or with certain dishes, etc. I do wish there was a separation (like rotten tomatoes) between wine experts and general drinkers. Would be interesting both when they agree and when they don't. I love the gamification (region exploration) aspect.

I've only used it to look up wines. for that purpose I'm fairly well satisfied. The number of emails Vivino sends is more than a bit irritating, both because of the frequency and also the content. Guys: I live in Utah. I can't buy the wines you're advertising. You can't ship them to me and the state carries what it carries. Your technology should make opting out of ads easier for geographically challenged users!

The latest update has turned a once great wine scanning app into an ad-laden disappointment. It's slower, less accurate, and more frustrating to use. The focus has shifted from quality wine information to relentless advertising. Hope it returns to its user-friendly roots. Needless to say I will be uninstalling it.

This is almost a really good app. It does the hard stuff well and then messes up no-brainer stuff. It is uncanny how well it recognizes a bottle from a photo of the label. But, cellar management is clunky. - Exported data is wrong - Can't sort by winery - Searching by winery doesn't find all their wines - Alphabetical sort is not alphabetical. - Should be able to filter by more than one attribute - Should have a condensed view of cellar for easier review (Replying to Vivino's reply: I have reached out to customer support, but potential users should know these limitations.)

Used to be a good app, but now it's just annoying when it takes over your screen to install a non-existent update, that usually comes along a week after the first red screen appears. Suggestions to remove the annoyance have gone unheard (contacted via the app) UPDATE (1/21) - Took over my phone 10 times over the course of 2 weeks to prompt for a non-existent update :-/

This app is more full of ads to buy wine than documentation of the wines you want and have. It would be really nice to be able to add in the price of the wine you are adding to your cellar rather than it being buried in the notes. Also have that price field displayed when looking at the cellar list. It already has the average cost to buy it there, but not what I purchased it at. This seems like a no brained to add.

I am extremely disappointed to find out what has happened with this, once wonderful, app! I can understand the ads throughout, but popup ads? Is this a game? It's bad enough the app lags when the service is bad, but now with the added ads it takes forever to load. Why not offer the app for a set price instead of a monthly fee? I'm so upset ☹️

Really unhappy with the recent changes to monetize scanning of wine lists and scanning multiple bottles. They got me hooked by letting me scan for over 2 years. Now I have to pay for it. The developers have lowered themselves to the level of drug dealers. UPDATE: After posting this, the developer reached out to let me know that they "fixed" it... by allowing me to use the features for free... Twice. But unfortunately, I can't go less than 1⭐

Love using the app to see which wines I'll enjoy at a store. Been using it for years! Sometimes, some of the features are hard to find. Does it even still have wine list and wine store specific recommendations? It used to, but I can no longer find that. I'd buy mail order from them, but I like such orders to be a wide variety picked for me. No repeats.

A decent app for rating wines, but the spam generated is pretty annoying. The app does a decent job a reading the label of a wine bottle, although I wish that it read the bar code instead, because the lookup can be a bit slow. However, what led me to uninstall the app were the marketing e-mails that I received every other day. It is bad enough that I was receiving these messages in the first place, since I never opted-in to be solicited, but even after I opted-OUT, I continue to get them.

Great app to find wines and really informative, but it just needs two feature so I can give it five stars. Me and my friends follow each other, but it would be awesome if we can share the cellar of wines that we have or had in the past. Another feature is to add the following button somewhere because whenever I want to look for my friend profile, I always need to use the search bar.

I just started using it and it's exactly what I wanted. I needed a way to keep track of wines I've tried (sort of like Untappd). The label scanning feature is wonderful! Being able to pull up reviews and info on the wines in the store makes shopping for a new wine to try way more fun and less overwhelming. If the app stopped there I would have been thrilled, but the delelopers went the extra mile and added fun information on the styles, grapes, and regions. I LOVE this app!

Still true as of 11/18. No QA, bad code makes more bugs than it fixes, etc. Most recent upgrade fixed massive basic functional issues (couldn't write a review) from the last "upgrade" and caused new ones almost as severe. My original review: Each "update" makes this app LESS responsive. Make sure you have the latest phone -- that might help. Appears they don't do QA on anything else... Their response: "Unfortunately, this is a necessary step to take if we want to continue to improve the app as we add new features to it - both in terms of performance and stability. The traction we received from older versions did not justify the development effort. So, unfortunately we must draw a line at some point, to focus our ressources on developing and improving the app."

Lowering my review from 5 to 3. App still works for looking up wines and all that, but they recently redesigned the interface on Android and it's TERRIBLE. App went from very clean, simple, and easy to use, to just plain difficult. What good is an app like this when basic text prompts don't behave in a usable manner, or when the GUI is so ambiguous that you can't tell which notes go with which wine? Roll back! Please!!

I would rank it much higher as it delivers exactly what is intended. Scanning much less accurate now; 2 out 5 scans are wrong. The problem is having gone to a "subscription" model. Recent updates have allowed intrusive ads. I would pay a one time charge for an ad free experience but not hundreds of dollars. Which is what will happen eventually. And while I can ask for my data to be removed, according to the privacy policy. No ability to download my wine info. Years of collecting wasted!!

After recent update, the app has downgraded in quality. After it guesses the vintage wrong, I'm unable to select my own year. It somehow confuses the year I selected and added to wishlist to the wine I scanned. Also the picture I took of the bottle is no longer shown, instead their default is shown, which is often incorrect or too dark to recognize. I don't know why they felt they needed to make almost perfect product worse, but they definitely achieved that. Contracts! NOT.

This app is great for keeping track of my tasting history, managing what I have on hand, learning about wines, building taste profiles. The label scanning feature isn't faultless, but it works pretty well. One issue is that the crowd sourced raring are all all so high as to be not useful and the crowd sourced tasting notes are so all over the place that they are only marginally helpful. Another issue is that over time the UI has gotten pretty confusing, as has some information presentation.
