Amazing. Has saved me from malware prolly over a thousand times. Pairs with BitDefender like a glove which has realtime protection to pair with VT.

Awesome app that supports old devices too! Thank you! Feature suggestion: Make the app listen to the ACTION_PACKAGE_ADDED broadcast event. That way, when a new app is installed on the device, your app could be triggered to suggest a new scan. This option could be toggled through settings, as the app would need to run in the foreground (which not everyone might like) to receive the mentioned event. It would be great if you open-sourced the app too. The community could engage and contribute.

VirusTotal (VT) works great for my malware and threat hunting needs, and comes with a multitude of free tools. Recommend taking advantage of their free API solution as it makes VT integration quite easy and effective Using 3rd-party applications and tools with my VT issued API just makes the overall experience even better! 1 star because it 1. doesn't scan apk files, only installed applications. If you have apk files you want to scan before installing use virustotal web service. 2. Works only on phones with very few apk installed. With large number of apk virus total is stuck forever

Not an official app. I was trying to get issues with this straightened out with virus total, when they said that they don't have an Android mobile app. Exact words: "VirusTotal has no official android apps" I kept having to uninstall the app to have Amazon links from emails or other apps, to work. Not worth the effort so uninstalled permanently.

I've always used and loved virus total. However, this app seems like it was thrown together just to have. The url checker hasn't worked on a single link I've put into it. I click to upload the report and it tells me it's ready but when I click it, it just loads the same window I was at when I uploaded it only this time there's no upload button and certainly no report. It's fine for files but the url checker is broken which is why I installed the app. Since it doesn't work 1 star it is for now...

Great and is to use app that scan side loadable apks! A must have app if you side load apps. There are other options but they are either paid or are website based and are far more complicated to use. Not only is this easy to use but it's comprehensive and tells you exactly what it has scanned the APK for and if it has detected malware/viruses it will provide further information about what it has detected.

Outstanding tool. Free, useful, and intuitive. Does exactly what you'd expect it to, without intrusive ads or other disruptions. The only thing I would add is some kind of progress bar or other means of monitoring upload status when submitting apps for analysis, but this is still a top-notch app regardless.

It's a awesone start, needs to have a few features added especially the ones that are implied but not actually implemented yet; like the ability to go straight to the report URL in a your default browser when you tap on the notification saying that a file you submitted has finished being scanned , instead of just taking you back to the app page. or at least have a tap to copy version of the report URL on the app page so you can paste it into a browser yourself. really great though!!!

It's good and bad. A virus scanner not having a scan progress indicator is horrible. I have never seen this before on any Windows antivirus. It would be fine if the scan always worked. But I assume they removed the progress indicator because about 80% of the time the scan just stops. You don't know why it stopped. When the scan works it's great and found a few potential virus apps. But for the last week the scan has made my phone so hot it hurts to touch it and it starts smelling burnt.

I like virus total, it has a lot of features for identifying app permissions and Trojans. The only problem I have with it is that the file scan feature doesn't work at all, I'd like to be able to scan downloaded apk files before I install them to my device but the feature doesn't work so I can't scan the file before downloading, that kinda socks tbh.

Does what it says but the usability is poor (for example there seems to be no way to select multiple apps for upload instead of selecting individually). The most frustrating thing however is that there still is no progress indication whatsoever after selecting upload for an app. There must be an upload queue but it's hidden to the user, so you don't know if an app has already been uploaded, andGod knows when (or if, as many apps remain unchecked even weeks later) a result will be received.

The app only scans your device. No options to scan urls or files. No explanations of results or anything really. Unless you're a computer person, you don't know what you're looking at when you get the results of a scan. They could at least make it friendly to the average Joe. All it does is scare you when you see that something came back positive and there's no option to delete a malicious file or take care of it. Step up your app Virus Total!

I love Virustotal, been using the website for years. The site has always worked wonderfully so I was excited to see they have an app, but it doesn't work very well at all. Mainly, whenever I attempt to view a report for either a file or a URL, the app crashes. From what I can tell you get one chance to view a report via a notification that pops up, if you click it and it falls, you're S.O.L. I recommend strictly using the website and avoiding the app all together. App needs a complete overhaul

So, for those who dont use the website or understand. It's actually fairly simple to use. E.x.: App 1/75 means that out of the 75 antivirus services that it checked with, only 1 came back with any kind of malicious report. If you click it, you can see why that one reported it as such. For example one of mine is listed as malicious by one because it can record screen audio and video but thats part of the function of the app & only runs if i activate it so its something I dont need to worry about.

Best detection I've ever seen! I've used countless antivirus apps over the years and this is WAY more useful! Ended up uninstalling a flagged app after my first scan! There's no more hogging up background resources, no more "pro" pings and no more forcing ads on you! 😎 Also, please read the description people! "Please note that virustotal for Android does not provide real-time protection and, so, is no substitute for any antivirus product, just a second opinion regarding your apps."

Very simple, to the point, no fancy bells or whistles to distract you. As stated in the description above its not an ideal real time protection application. It is, without a question, definently a must have secondary defense tool. With analysis data from trusted sources to support its findings this is definently the second/third/fourth opinion you've been looking for!

Loved it at first. Right of the boat it located several files that were malicious, and when clicked on thevsay 1/73 Clean in beautiful "I'm safe" green. However, if you rerun it they show up the same way. I guess it doesn't in fact get rid of the virus or does it? My final analysis came from viewing the permissions. Why would you need permission to create accounts and passwords, read sync settings, toggle sync on and off, along with some others.. I'll happily change my review if you can explain.

This was a reassuring app to have. The app upload feature always had an issue though that if the upload did not complete the only way to complete it was to delete the app data or reinstall. Now since last update I am not sure whether it can upload at all since it does not show the progress notification. If I try to turn on notifications from settings it stubbornly turns them off again. For some reason notifications treats this as a "system app" now. Please address these issues.

Doesn't offer real time protection but as far as detecting malware apps already on your phone, I don't think anything else does a better job. I had a banking malware on my last phone and scanned with well over 10 popular anti spyware apps, this is the only one that found it.
