In the past, this app seemed to need me to babysit it every time I needed to make a transfer. I always had to re-verify my bank account. Now that doesn't even work. It just declines my payment. No explaination, no suggestion for how to fix it. Declined. I have a balance that could cover this transfer more than twice over and no pending transactions. There is no reason for this. Venmo customer service says it's "the" bank I'm using. Fine, so I'll use a different bank. BUT NOPE SAME PROBLEM!

Despite having the notification setting disabled for "Discounts and Promotions" the app still pushes ads for the Venmo credit card. This is continues to be a problem and Venmo's response is to tell users to dismiss the ad. If I wanted ads, I wouldn't have opted out in the first place. Zelle is integrated with my bank and is faster and cheaper than Venmo anyway. Good job with the ads, instead of selling a credit card, you lost a customer.

Customer service never seems to respond in a timely manner, and they always want to transfer u which from my experience means hang up on u. Features that work fine most of the day won't work at night. Usually have no issue transferring $ to my PayPal then all of a sudden it won't allow it. Would not recommend. 0 stars. 2 thumbs all the way down

How is this app legal? It feels like a credit scam. Half the features don't work. You are conned into opening a credit line when I thought it was like CashApp or PayPal. Then after signing up the TOS updated telling us all our data is being sent to PayPal with no option to opt out. What is going on? Someone changed the my phone number of the account and they won't show the number or fix it. I regret trying this app so much. Don't think twice about doing it. Find another app & never look back.

I did not have an account and was sent money via my email address. I tried reaching out to vemno via phone and no human to talk to. Tried sending an email and get a response to check notification in the app. Set up an account and there is no where a place to find messages. This is the worst app and would never recommend it to anyone. My issue was not resolved.

I recently signed up for Venmo to pay for lawn services, and the app refuses to let me pay the full amount (a little more than $200). I believe this is some sort of fraud protection, but if this is the case, then Venmo should be able to send a confirmation notice to the sender instead of refusing the payment. I was able to get around this by paying 3 smaller payments, but the recipient was charged a $5 fee for each transaction.

Previously, they used to let us attach our debit card and use it to make purchases, first using any balance in Venmo and then it would draw from the debit card as needed. They took the feature away and for my use case, it just doesn't work anymore. I'm giving it 3 stars because the app has been reliable and it works well enough for the features that were retained. I've been phasing this out and transitioning to Zelle and Google Pay/Wallet. Too bad. I really used to love it.

App is TRASH! Cannot make credit card payments online. I disabled use of the credit card due to this. Had I known the abundance of technical issues that accompany this app, I would have NEVER applied for the credit card. When I attempt adding/re-adding a bank account, says account is already listed, but won't let me make a payment using it. 🤔 Super sketch app... gives scammer/phising vibes. Customer service is a joke. It's a bunch of transfers for you to ultimately be "disconnected"/hung up on.

The app has been great for years, but recently my bank disconnected. I've tried reconnecting for days now... I updated, reinstalled, restarted my phone... but still it times out every time at the "Redirecting" screen after telling me that my connection was successful, and then I'm back at square one. It was, in fact, NOT successful haha. So the app is useless to me now, and I owe a $50 late fee for my rent (which is still on me for not going to get a money order in time)

It works until it doesn't. I have the right to reclaim a payment but the "take back" button doesn't work. To get a live customer service agent they make you jump one hoop after another, including their AI chatbot spewing pages of information I'd already read on their website. The automated phone system gives you the same instructions, as does the email they send when you finally find the page go file a ticket. I still haven't been able to contact a human and already wasted 2 hours.

It's fine. The developers always switch up the design and are making the app harder and harder to use. Dev team likes to change where everything is. I wish they would pick a standard flow and stick with it. I wish there was a better way to setup recurring payments like rent. They also make it hard on purpose to see your balance to transfer money to your bank.

Venmo will sometimes automatically decline payments even when you've interacted with that recipient many times before, when you have plenty of money in your account, and when the caption is completely benign. Even if you call and speak to support, they'll tell you there's nothing they can do even when verbally acknowledging that the transaction is not suspicious. If you need to make time sensitive payments, use a better app.

This is the most frustrating app I have ever used. The UI is terrible and most attempts to create an account end up with it being frozen or it displays errors. Apparently you can't even add bank accounts or cards without jumping through hoops. If you do have issues, the customer service is unresponsive.

Payments show up instantly, ATM is free at at lots of convenient locations which I love. It has a bit of a social media going on where I can see my friends splitting the cost of meals or buying flowers using provided clip art from the app. And this is only if a transaction is shared publicly. They just keep asking me to verify my billing address and I do, notifucatin keeps coming back. Otherwise it's all good!

The app glitches on opening a fresh instance when it asks for my fingerprint (twice in a row) and location all at once, and it even freezes up my OnePlus 11 running OxygenOS 14 (Android 14) in the recent app list if I don't answer the location prompt before leaving the app to reinvoke the fingerprint scanner until I fight it enough to get my phone to respond again. The pending and completed transaction screen keeps refreshing while I'm looking at the list, sending me back to the top of the list.

Really sucks, can't even verify my bank account! I opted for manual verification as I don't like Plaid to keep pinging my bank account. And when I tried to verify by entering the 2 micro deposit and withdrawal it couldn't verify! Go figure! It can't even handle a simple verification like that and why should I trust it to handle my transactions! 🙄🙄

Very, very poor app! I can't seem to verify anything. Plus, I couldn't do a successful search on myself!!! Installed a few days ago for a money transfer. I received transaction only after I found the recipient- my name couldn't be located. I couldn't delete the account to start over. I had to delete then reinstall the app but it didn't work.

This has been the worst app I have ever downloaded! EVER! It is useless! One person has been able to send me money. Now, I can not transfer it to my bank. When I send a request it tells me that my account is frozen! There isn't much information to help navigate these issues, but there's plenty of ads for up selling their other products. I have an absolutely useless money app here!

Very glitchy, sometimes you can add money and sometimes you can't. Even when customer service is contacted, they can't do anything for you. Try again later, which is about the best you'll get. (AI) seems to control most of the apps decisions and the representatives cannot manually change the decisions made by the (AI). When the app works it's great but all the issues and problems make me want to look elsewhere.

Extremely slow and laggy UI. It's hard to just search for someone, versus defaulting to paying an account without being able to fully view their profile. Worst new feature is the radio button for activating transactions as a service. It's just a green button with a shield icon, so it's not immediately apparent what you're doing until it's too late and charges an extra fee. I'm sure Venmo is making a killing off this terrible UX
