First of all it's a very nice intiative to make HOMM 3 to work on Android, and Linux. This is the first and best reason to give this 5 stars. However there are still some bugs that needs to be fixed, like passing levels in the campaign, or other stuff the involves working with the server. I really hope the developers are debugging all these issues.

Works exactly like the PC version of VCMI. Which adds small quality of life features that I enjoy.

Update: Samsung Note 10+. Can't change resolution, always 800x600 (mod fixes it) and a bit choppy animation of heroes riding in a world map. Touch screen for tactical combat is not very comfortable, sometimes you move to a hex instead of attacking an enemy (not a problem with s pen). When a window opens where you need to change numbers a keyboard always pops up and blocks view even if I can use slider to do that (after a while it gets really annoying). Other then that, port is great!

A port of HoMM3 to android, so that it can be played on a mobile phone? Yes please, great! However, it works far from perfect, and these are some of the issues I've encountered: (1) Opening New Game >> Single Scenario, it open a network connecting box for a fragment of a second. OK, I guess? If I cancel and try doing it again, it opens again, but gets stuck. (2) Random maps are being generated, but coming a 'Could not create a random map that fits current choices.', which sort of hurts since I play pretty much exclusively random maps. Maps are being generated and can be copied into the maps folder and then played however, I do believe. (3) The game is running pretty slow. I know, it's a port of a PC game to a mobile phone - but still, it's a very old game which never required super specs, and not that bad phone. At least it runs, so that's good! (4) This may be phone specific - I have the normal game screen in the middle, on the left of it I have an extra slice of the right side of the screen, and on the right an extra slice of the left side of the screen. Those slices also know to flicker, which gets a bit annoying. Could be caused by weird screen resolution - I have Pocophone F1? Overall, app has a bunch of problems - and yet, it's free and it does what it's supposed to do - make HoMM3 playable on Android. P.S. on the note of (2) - maps are not generated, at least not consistently. Still, can generate them on PC and then copy.

Please, i downloaded .exe homm 3 file from gog and vcmi installer says that file is invalid, pls help.

They've recently done an update that fixed a lot of bugs, been playing happily for months. I'm trying to figure out how to play some mods currently.

This has come a long way since my last 3 star review. Now 5 stars. Nothing game breaking that I gave encountered and the most important thing is it is usable with pinch zoom and other quality of life feature. Excellent work. Thank you for rekindling a game that was a big part of my childhood.

This runs Heros 3 better than it's ever ever played it on PC. It runs smoothly, and after many hours, I haven't encountered a single bug. I even left the app running for a week without reopening it, and I was able to just continue playing the game as though I'd just put the phone down for a second. Zero crashes.

First of all its free. You didnt pay anything to give it a 1 star. Especially that there is no other app that runs homm 3 on android. Maybe your phone is shi... Yeah it does need improvements but it doesnt deserve a 1 star. At least 4 stars. I gave it 5 stars as the devs are updating the app often at least recently.

A great implementation, and very simple to setup. Honestly, and no offense to the developers, but it used to be pretty bad, even on PC; I'm talking about version 0.99 and before, but that's all before 1.x of course. Now it's fun and easy to play, even on Android. Thank you for making this! P.S. to the people confused about the low rating: this is a game engine ONLY, it requires game files to actually play the game, and you need to get the game files from your PC.

It is not perfect, but it works well, definitely playable and worthwhile. I. I may say that the angle of attack is abit troubled, and somethings still don't work but overall- great job making it playable on the phone. Is there a donation area? :)

Fantastic app, works flawlessly, not all that complicated to set up. It would be supernice if it received Hota 1.7 support soon. That would be a massive plus. Fingers crossed.

Best game available on the entire platform, truly impressive to be able to play a fully moddable PC game (even if it is an old one) on a garbage OS like android. Touch controls are great (but make sure you install the expanded UI mod which adds buttons for actions that were hotkey-only in the original), and stability is only an issue if you install incompatible mods. The only minor complaint I have is that the game restarts if you tab out. Still, solid work, 10/10, recommended over all others.

A new engine for an old classic. If you have this game on GoG, you're set for life. There are still bugs here and there, but considering the progress this engine had since before 1.0, this seems like a cake walk. With 1.5, we get MP so that means we have full functionality now (at least iirc). The only thing missing imho would be further enhancements to map generation, like choosing what part of the map would you want to start in? (Would gladly always start top left corner). TY 4 your work!

This is a new review of an already five star effort. First, cannot thank the VCMI team enough for continuing a passion throughout these years. My previous review was nearly nine years ago!! I grew up literally playing HOMM with family and friends. And I play with my son now. So their passion project is incredible. The feature that were added to the 1.4 version is mind blowing and makes this their best effort thus far. This may be the final version anyone needs. It's that good.

Unexplained Relative Cursor Behavior. Struggled to use relative cursor behavior for a while until you understand some unexplained behavior. Left side of the screen is for moving the cursor. Bottom right side is for leftcl clicks. Top right for right clicks. Can this be customized or at least explained? Cursor is also hard to see and not constrained to your screen. Easily lost it several times in a row forcing me to close and relaunch.
