Good player for downloaded or captured videos. Plays vr and non vr well via my cardboard compatible headset. In player file selection would be great. Just needs to be able to access content from wifi connected shared locations for a fifth star.

Update fixed the tracking issues, but now the 2 views for left and right eyes in Vr 180 SBS are unaligned - one view is at least higher than the other, and no matter which sliders i adjust, nothing lines up, so it's once again unusable for vr.

Best VR player EXCEPT you can't seek with VR controller by clicking on the seekbar. ⏪ 👆 ⏩ Problem is cursor doesn't "drag" or hold the click so you can't search with the headset on. This would be solved by allowing clicking on the seekbar to rewind or advance. Pleeease add that option like most video players have 🙏

Gyro drifting is still horrible, no matter what settings you use (incl. Antidrift and Gyro Smoothness). They only make it a little less bad, but it's gonna be very bad no matter what. Other VR player apps don't have this issue, but they lack the customization. 😢

Gallery still works, but opens in a different app, then won't remember which folder you are in so Next and Back buttons only replay the video you are watching already. Browse only sees folders, not files. Tried updating and reinstalling again per developer's advice. Still no joy.

Updates took a good app and messed it up. Browsing for local files now uses the gallery or images to browse ( could be more but can't see it because only part of the menu is showing). Now it shows thumbnails with no filenames which is useless for videos. Shame because it was a good app before.

This was the best Vr player I could find by far, but the recent updates have caused issues. Head tracking is still broken for me. I also really hate that it makes you use the gallery to select a file to play. The gallery doesn't show file names, so it is harder to navigate.

Doesn't work since last update, cannot move or touch controls during videos. Edit 1 : I have now updated to 3.40 and all videos do not work. They are stuck at "connecting" with a white screen after the video and viewing mode being selected. Edit 2 : I should have mentioned, i doesn't work with any selecting options mentioned.

For me this is the best VR app by far and I've been using it for ages. Glad to see it's back in the playstore! 2 feature requests that would make this app even better: A way to view images "static" (no headtracking) like you can with videos. And an option to easily rotate videos like you can with images.

The 3.50 version works just fine on the older android versions, but still unable to locate the files from external drive on my current android 14. Probably due to the app unable to have "all file access", and with just the photos and videos permission it will fails to read other files, this is why it can only open local files on new android versions. However, i am able to access external files with other vr apps that have the same gallery file access mode this app had back in the 3.10 version.

I like what it's trying to accomplish here and it almost even pulls it off without errors. The worst part about this player is the controls and how they handle and are set up. With a few more updates this app should work really well I would personally think. So 3 starrs for now and quite a way to go before I would ever think about calling this a 4 starr worthy app.

Video inevitably freezes after a couple seconds. Audio keeps going, motion tracking surprisingly still works, but the actual video playback is frozen. Can still scrub around to different points on the timeline, but it won't play more than a second before freezing again. Doesn't seem to be any workaround.

Probably the best cardboard viewer app out there. The thing that would get it to 5 * for me would be to add the ability to control head position solely from touch and lock auto head tracking. This would enable a set and forget flow that does not require resetting the view often as I currently have to (a cardboard issue, not vars)

So far, the best VR video viewer for mobile phones. It takes the good elements from other apps and puts them in one place. Open local files, a ton of viewing options (many apps barely give you any. This gives you everything). But the one thing I wish it did perfectly, as advertised: perfect tracking. I have to reset the view every 20s or so, it keeps drifting, even with anti-drift on and a brand new s20 Plus.

The adjustments are in 2D and so is my mouse??! And this is the best one on the market are you freaking kidding me?!! It's impossible to tune! take it out of the holder put it back in, take it out back in, and take it out put it back in..... all the while the center keeps getting messed up because the gyro self ajustments. I take it out do the adjustments then they are always all off I've spent an hour setting this up unsuccessfully. It would be so much easier to adjust this with my mouse. Sigh

The app is the best I've found but it's still a nightmare to try to set up. Sometimes I get it first try but most of the time I have to spend 30 minutes just tweaking the settings which is totally frustrating. I often give up and just watch the video normally because it's honestly more stress than it's worth. It's sad that THIS is the best option we have. I really hope the developers post instructions on how to set up a video so it displays properly. Its unusable 90% of the time

it was pretty good when i used my bluetooth altho after a while (opening on different occasions) its like 55% chance it would be completely terrible. my phone doesnt have the gyro thing but when my bluetooth headset is on or off it effects the thing so it makes it impossible to look at a certain direction and you have to tilt or look at a completely different directions. (other than that it worked like a charm)

Update 2: Updated on 2024-04-13, still not showing files. Folders do not have anything but letters in the path, no periods, and are on the internal storage. Guess I'll stick with v3.10. Using Samsung A13. - Update: Version 3.40 did not fix the problem. My folders with MP4 files still show as empty in the app. - Doesn't work anymore. Used to be the best, but now it can't find or play videos that used to work fine. But hey, at least ads started working. 🙄 Last working version was 3.10.

The new aspect ratio settings have me scratching my head. Before, the app seemed to default to the correct aspect ratio as far as I could tell, but now the default is 1:1 scale which for some reason squashes the image. Even more puzzling, there's nowhere to change the default to "no scale" which fixes the issue, since it is a setting only accessible after you launch the video. I have to adjust the setting for. every. video. Did I mention you have to watch a 30 second ad to access the settings?

New update has completely broken the player for me as well, none of my videos that previously worked fine will even play anymore. Audio works but video doesnt play. Checked videos that were working very recently and they wont play anymore. Been using var's player regularly for 5-6 years so this is very disappointing as it's been such a great app. EDIT: New update has indeed fixed the issues, happy to be back to using Var's player as I don't like the other apps as much.
