Update: Support was no help. Still waiting for a resolution. Months later, the app is still slow and inconsistent. I get errors every time I access a page or product anywhere outside the basic banking screen. The UX and navigation flows are perplexing, especially for documents. The fingerprint auth is good but slow. When it is working, the app is great.

Not sure what is happened with the stability of the app, but there have been several instances now and in the recent past that a service is 'unavailable,' like changing addresses, updating renter's insurance terms, conditions, dates, etc. That's tough to deal with when a member is deployed and needs to make a change to something critical. Not sure when it changed...

It works great for roadside assistance and other insurance related needs, but the financial institution options did not work out too well for me. I had it pull money from the wrong account. Twice! And each time costed me monetary penalties, so I no longer use the app, or their bank cards, for any financial dealings. Like I said though, the roadside assistance is awesome and they have good coverage, but it is a bit pricey.

USAA has come a long way!! I would like to suggest that a notification feature be installed that gives us an option to receive alerts via text or email that let's us know whenever our credit card is used that displays time/day/location, and amount charged. My wife has this feature through American Express and it works great! It's been a few years and still haven't received a response.

Update: DISLIKE THE NEW LOOK. They took away one of the best features of having scheduled transactions in the same place as cleared transactions so you could see your running balance. It's now buried a few clicks away. When there is a bug, they are usually quick to resolve the issue. Have had very few issues with the app. Security is about as strong as can be (nothing these days is 100% secure). Overall, good app for banking online; I don't even use the web version on my PC anymore.

The scheduled transactions feature used to be useful, a virtual crystal ball with which I could see the future of my accounts. It displayed inline, making it seamless and intuitive to balance my budget for the next month. It was wonderful. Past tense. They "improved" it and in doing so made it difficult to use, harder to understand, and borderline useless for any practical purpose whatsoever. I utterly despise it. Please PLEASE can you put it back the way it was before?

Bill pay info on the credit card page has crashed like 2 weeks ago. It used to show payment due, date, available credit, useful info that now I have to download the bill to see. It says it is a problem on their end and despite emailing them a few times it still isn't fixed. It literally says not to send specific account info with problems with the app so they email me and ask for my member #, NO GO!

The mobile app directs you to log in on the website, then the website redirects you to the app to log in on the app, all while the security system sends you a code each time. When you finally do "log on", the screen fails to load, freezes, only to send you through the mirror maze of logging on again. Frustrating experience. I am glad I have my important documents saved. Using the app in the comfort of my home is not working, let alone when you might need to access something on the highway.

This app flat out doesn't work and never has. I tried for half an hour to print my auto ID card and it kept glitching. Then I tried it on the website and it kept force redirecting to the app, which always went to a blank white page. So infuriating. Finally I deleted the app entirely, at which point the website started working. I suggest avoiding this app. It's really really bad. And yes I was using the current version. The previous versions also had this same glitch as well.

The widget is broken as of the last update on 1/25/2024. Only shows "as of 1/26" where my first account would be listed, similar to what others have commented. The refresh button on the widget doesn't do anything. The only thing the widget is good for right now is as a shortcut to the app. Inside settings, the widget accounts and widget transactions are also not listed (blank pages). Devices are listed and widget access is turned on. - Was not fixed in 2/19/2024 update.

While the app showcases promising USSA concepts, my experience using it has been disappointing. The app is laden with features that often work inconsistently, leaving much to be desired. It seems like the developers may have overlooked crucial aspects, possibly impacting the app's functionality. I wonder if these issues are specific to the Android platform. There is definite room for improvement to ensure a smoother and more reliable user experience

I've never had any issues with this app over the years, but the past 4(ish) months it's really been glitching. Won't always show accurate or updated data, features are often missing ect. Really disappointing and frustrating since this is the only way for us to access our banking/insurance ect information. Hope they fix this soon...

3/2/2024 - the app continues to be glitchy. Today it showed account balances, but would not show transaction history, allow access to statements, nor allow any bill paying options. Basically useless. Again needed to use a PC. After my last review, USAA did reach out and ask for information to troubleshoot, however there was no further contact after that. Been a USAA customer for 24 years. Service is usually exemplary but this app needs some serious work to be more stable and reliable.

8 times out of 10 when I try to make a credit card payment, it will inexplicably error out. Once I back up to the previous screen and try again, it always works. SO ANNOYING. This has happened across tons of updates to the app, across 2 phones (Galaxy S21 FE, Pixel 8), any network, and after clearing data/cache and reinstalling the app. So... clearly not a me problem. Have sent feedback a few times and it is never fixed. Good app otherwise.

I didn't like how this app interacts with my computer. If I open a document on the app here, it shows that as opened and seen on my computer. Makes it hard to download and read files I need to balance accounts because it's hides them if I've looked at them. It should show documents as downloaded or not separately. I don't care if I've seen documents before. I care if I've downloaded them it not. I also don't like all the useless messages from management who never served. A lot of self promo

Been using for many years just recent issue. The widget on the home screen has been stuck with balances from weeks ago. Will not update at all. I've uninstalled reinstalled cleared cache and everything. Inside when I open app works but account balances don't update or even transactions. I lived the ease and convenience of the widget. Hope an update rolls out soon to fix it.

I would really appreciate better reliability from the app for a bank which has no physical locations (in a lot of places). Almost every single time I log in, the app says "log in to see account information" and I have to close the app and log in again. Even when I do log in, I often get an error that account information isn't available, and I can't make any transfers. Annoying and frankly unacceptable.

This mobile app needs work, and a lot of it. While you can usually get to what you need to get to eventually, it fights you every step of the way. Essential functions of the app stop working and simply say "service unavailable". The GUI is glitchy and often fails to respond to inputs. The two step security would be a reassuring feature, but with how often I have to close and re-open the app it works out to be only a massive nuisance. When it demands an update every week, it should be better.

I feel like the app is very inaccurate because it always says I'm driving when I'm not. Also I don't think there should be a penalty for hands-free Bluetooth. I just feel like the infections are inaccurate alot as well and the way the discount is set up, is kind of messed up. I'm actively looking for new insurance because of yalls premiums are crazy. Lastly yall became a company that was for military, that is more corporative like now.

Trying to make a payment on a credit card fails, giving me a system error, saying try again later. What it really means is wait till you're past due. A few times, when I DID happen to be past due, it seems to work just fine. Why does it only work if I'm late on a payment?! It used to work great, but now it forces me to use a computer to make a payment to avoid having late charges. Closing and restarting the app and rebooting my phone do not resolve the issue. Fix this.
