I tried to install the app from both the email that promoted the app and Android Google play. It installs quickly, but can't be opened by either method. The app crashes. I see another user had the same experience. I like UpToDate. I'll try again someday when hopefully the app is fixed and ready for market.

one of the most frustrating bugs in this app is in In split screen, when you shift to another app and back, uptodate ALWAYS scrolls to the top of the article, losing your place completely. if you were hoping to scribble down some values with your SPen or have a calculator, pdf, or EMR app open at the same time, just forget it. Ive been so frustrated by this in my workflow, I just use a different browser app and go to the webpage instead. Contacted support but zero help. on samsung note 8

Cannot access app. Repeated error message after logging in, saying: "Network connection was lost, unable to retrieve content needed to run this application" No network issues on other apps, tried several wifi networks + 4g data. Tried reinstalling twice, restarting device, clearing cache. Account works on laptop.

Content wise it is very amazing no doubt. But poor app development. The interface is not user friendly. If I see a "newer version of this article available" message and press that and manage to download that then the entire 1.8 Gb of offline access will have to be redownloaded...if you make update available notice in the Home page and articles can be separately updated it would have been nice. Sometimes finding articles is difficult. Generally if app interface gets better I will give 5 stars.

Like many other reviews mention, for the past few weeks when using this app I have add issues with the scroll function while perusing articles. When ever i try to scroll through the article as i read, the text vibrates up and down rapidly due to the article directory toolbar at the top rapidly loading and unloading the subsection name. Please fix or disable this in the meantime (or at least an option to) as its nauseating.

The content that UpToDate stands on is phenomenal, but the app itself might need some work! I dislike the offline content downloader. I can't trust it to download properly in the background, so I have to spend an awkward 30+ minutes staring at my screen until it completes (assuming it completes and doesn't restart mid-download). But even on completing, download errors still occur. A single success in downloading the content takes not fewer than 7 tries. Kindly fix this for the offline pips!

Unstable and unusable. I just downloaded it and was logging in and all it says is that I don't have the network connection to download files needed for the app but I'm literally connected to wifi. I tried mobile data (I have 5g so it's not me). App is still extremely buggy so won't be using it .

An extremely valuable resource, it has served me well from the start of my clinical rotations in medical school to my clinical practice now. The patient education materials have also been very helpful. Now if only there was a way to have the articles read aloud so I could listen to them in the car etc.

I use Up to Date on my job, and I thought it would be useful to also have the app on my phone. After I installed it I wouldn't give permission to allow access to my photos, media files, contacts, etc, so the app won't open. You don't need that level of access to my personal information for this app to work. I uninstalled because it's useless. I'll find another app that's just as good

The offline content update process is absolutely rubbish. Every time you update, the updates autopause. Then you have to manually restart. And invariably, there is a problem diagnosed at the end of the full 1 hour exercise and you have to do it again. The brilliant content cannot be but acknowledged, but the app experience can be better.

It's a great resource but finding out the most recent update requires downloading offline content in the middle of a shift (or that it requires internet access after one month for permissions update while working in a remote area) is a big negative. Also it will sometimes try to connect to the internet and just hang while loading a page. Again not good during a crisis.

when it works it is good, when it is time to renew the license or reenter a subscription code the app and the website freezes and make it impossible to log in, use the app or proceed to fix the situation.

What is this app? It wasted two hours of my time, and I still couldn’t create an account. It doesn’t provide an option to sign up with Gmail. It only shows a login option, even though I haven’t created an account, and there’s no option for new sign-ups. It offers a Microsoft account option, which I don't have 😡😡😡😡😡

UpToDate is the best medical reference, but the app’s download issues are frustrating. The pause/resume button doesn’t work—downloads restart from scratch if paused or interrupted or content update needed. In regions with slow/unstable internet (like many African countries), this makes offline access nearly impossible. Unexpected from such a reputable company. Please fix!

I've been using UpToDate for 2 years and deeply value its evidence-based content, clinical summaries, and regular updates. However, the app’s performance, especially the search functionality ,has significantly slowed down in recent weeks. Search results take too long to load, and the app feels laggy even on high-end devices with strong internet connections. This delay is frustrating during clinical rounds or urgent scenarios where fast access to information is critical.

1 star for putting a high barrier for academic contents that should be available to everyone, at least for a very low cost.

I have used the app for a number of years already. But, in the last updates, the search query became sluggish, slow and pretty bad. it doesn't help at all for what it is supposed to: a quick search of topics, even in high end devices on a strong wifi connection.

I always gave them 5 stars in years past. Great quick source of information at time patients seen. I use it almost daily. BUT they have gone through some changes. The login is no longer as quick (several screens to click through first now). They used to notify me when my subscription was about to expire. Apparently they have stopped doing this. Today I went to login and find out information on dosing for high risk medication and found out the subscription has expired (NO WARNING EVER).
