I think this a good app for the most part. You can set up a voicemail to answer your missed calls which is nice. The apps layout is fairly easy to navigate however it doesn't always notify me when I have missed a call. Also quit often when i make a call I am barely able to understand other person due to the audio breaking up. Overall I like dingtone it has helped me significantly over a period of time where I didn't have a regular phone service.

It's done the job. The speaker phone feature misses the mark; too soft volume on my end, and painful noise heard on the other end. But, being overseas, it does allow me to call people in the States when I can't use FB Messenger or WhatsApp. Since it worked well enough, I didn't look for a better option. *UPDATE: It seems like the sound quality is better than it was initially. Speaker phone function isn't yet viable for me. But calls are connected quickly, and is very useful overseas, so +1 ⭐

The ads don't work. Sometimes I cannot get a video ad to get credits for DAYS, and most of the offers where you download an app don't work--you hardly ever get the credits you earned even when you download the app and open it with location on. You aren't given any credits for most of the ads you watch, and you are usually deducted credits shortly after receiving them when you do without reading any texts or making any calls. I have spent hours trying to get even one credit to get a hold of someone before giving up. If you only send and receive one text each day, this app is for you. Any more than that and you are screwed. Also, most of the 1 credit offers don't work, and often times you get redirected to a popup for a different offer or to download a different app that than the one you clicked on. This app sucks. I only use it because I have to, not because I want to.

It's a good calling app. The calls are clear and crisp if the WiFi and/or network signals are good. The app sends notification if the signal is too weak for good call quality and suggests sending a text, instead of calling. Earning Credits is easy, with many different options and plenty of good offers that are free to complete. Much appreciation to the developers and everyone else who provide this app. Syncing contacts with the contacts in the phone book would be great!

This app is absolutely horrible! It keeps claiming there's a "connection problem" even though it's connected to a reliable wifi network/source. I can't see any new texts. I see them in the partial "preview" window, but when I go into the actual chat box, there's nothing there. This is not at all comforting when I have my children that may text me on this.I've sent an email already, so I hope this problem gets resolved quickly or I'm going to have to uninstall it and look for a better one.

I've used Dingtone for over six years and it's always been reliable, with many options to choose from (Selecting personal phone numbers, walkie talkie mode, call recording etc. ), but for all of that time Dingtone has had one major drawback : a high level of audio distortion on calls. No matter which phone I installed Dingtone on (and i've used many over the years) , the audio always had too much distortion. That finally changed with the March 5, 2021 update. Now the audio is clear ! Hooray!

This app is unreliable. When I receive calls and select the answer icon the phone says answering but does not pick up. It cost me numerous phone interviews with potential employers due to this major flaw. Another flaw it has is disconnecting during a phone call that last over an hour even when the connection is good. I don't understand why it does this but it happens occasionally. The last issue I have is the stability of calls. It's crystal at the beginning of the call but degrades after during the duration of the call with a lot of echoing in the background. FYI, I have a 100mb fiber connection. Update 12 Dec 2018. After installing the new update the app receives and makes call like a walkie talkie. It no longer makes regular calls like before. I sent an email to tech support a week ago, still no response.

Even if you are paying for this service the sound quality is bad, connections are dropped constantly and they bombard you with offers and other annoying popups. A new glitch that I noticed is that if you are in the middle of a call on your phone and this app starts to ring you will lose voice communication, meaning that the other person will not be to hear what you are saying. Try something else.

Not great. 2 stars for basic functionality, but I paid for a subscription and they still flooded me with ads. I had to pay because they literally hid the contents of the text message claiming it was for "security". Security for their wallet I guess. Constant push notifications to purchase more credits and no real value. I went with Hushed instead, same monthly price and it doesn't feel like a 90s website full of pop-ups.

It has reasonable prices and a wide selection of phone numbers. There are lots of ads in the free version, and paying $1/mo hides them but there are still lots of "free credits" notifications. Unfortunately, those notifications are sent in the "new message" notification channel so they can't be hidden or silenced without losing notifications for real messages. If the app had been more respectful of a paying user's time and attention, I'd probably still be using/paying for this app.

It's a free extra phone number with call and text capabilities. That's pretty awesome in itself and reception seems fine and texts are fine too. It does have A LOT of ads and I understand being free means they need to make money elsewhere but I really dislike the popups that you cant get rid of without closing the app, otherwise I'm fine with ads and understand they need to make money too. Overall, good app.

While I haven't gone through ALL of the advanced features yet I will state this: I like the way the BASIC features such as Text and calling perform. And I like the overall SPEED and funtionality of this software. I just installed (and quickly) uninstalled not one but TWO other free wifi calling apps due to their POOR and SLO performance in these two basic areas. So I say BRAVO..to the great job Dingtone has done!!!

Terrible. I wasted the money paying for 2 lines for the year just to have a simple feature like voicemail, so $10 total there. Then I was stupid enough to pay the $1 to remove the ads, thinking they would actually be removed. And were they? NO! Plus, this app doesn't work as described. It is my understanding that it will work on WiFi OR off of your cellular data. I have unlimited high speed data thru my carrier (was only using these 2 lines for business purposes) and no calls unless on wifi!!!

Free calls almost to everywhere 🤔. To get access to the service network all you have to do is to have wifi connection to watch videos and get credit points added to your account. Or yr cell net. Accumulated points can be used toward calling your friends (on land or cell phones) even if they are not Wi-Fi connected or in an area that is not covered by internet any network ! 👍🤔 Recently the number of points are less compared, commercials more! You may buy credits too. but they are expensive.

Decent app. Often will notify me of a text, but takes additional time to show it on my messages. Sometimes it doesn't notify me at all. Earning "free" credits via installing apps and opening often yields no reward, despite contesting/requesting unearned credits. Definitely a waste of time trying to get "free" credits (time is money). Had the option to buy my number, and now that feature has been quietly removed. Needs work.

Paid to reserve number but then it turns out you STILL need credits to actually make or receive calls. So I bought extra credits. That didn't work either, the credit balance would magically fluctuate and eventually go to zero even with only 2 test texts made. They really want you to participate in their ridiculous activities in order to earn credits that way. The app in general is an ad cluttered, activities-crammed mess. I ported out the number by paying an extra $120 (!) so I can move on.

Suggestions: I would like it if you could earn at least 2 dingtone credits with each offer. I find that the longer you use the app, the less credits you are able to get. I would also like it if you could add some cool customizable themes. Review: Best quality I have ever experienced despite it being free! I have been using it for 3 years now and have seen the app progress. I love that I can text and it's very easy to use. I am overall satisfied.

I have been using dingtone for as long as I can remember. At least the last 10 years, if not longer. Love this app. Extra phone numbers always come in handy for all sorts of different purposes. There are multiple ways to earn free credits. I maintain all my dingtone numbers annually by earning free credits in addition to adding voice-mail to a few of those numbers. Can't speak highly enough about this app. Recommend 100%....no apps come close in comparison.

Garbage app. Always says disconnected even when on WiFi with strong internet connection. For as many ads that are shown in app you would think it would work at least some of time. No, it's just an app that doesn't care if it works just that it shows you A LOT of ads. Don't waste your time. Update: Definitely no longer free don't believe anything they say, you must pay to keep your number. A bunch of scammers and thieves!!!

This used to be a good app, but is not what it was originally. I purchased th premium version with unlimited calls, but was continuously shown that I only had 8.5 credits. The callback feature made the app worthwhile, but they wanted me to pay more for that as well. I gave them a month to get their act together, and they still came short. I will look for something more reliable.
