Awkward multi-step processes, constant up-selling. It reminds me a bit of TurboTax but without any of the polish of Intuit's UI/UX. This app gives me the sense that if you click the back button then maybe you'll break the check-In process or that if you click a link for some explanatory text (it'll open a browser) and when you come back to the United app it'll have forgotten where in the check-in process you were and you'll have to go through the whole thing again.

It's ridiculous how hard it's been for me to log in and request miles for past flights, as somebody who is tech savvy. I've had to make phone calls and change passwords and work between the app and website to do extremely basic functions. You would think that a multi-billion dollar company could figure this out, but I've spent half an hour pulling hair to get basic functions of the app to work right.

The app is ok. However after being checked in it sends a notification that I'm boarding in 8 hours 30 minutes. I swipe it away but one minute later I get another notification that I'm boarding in 8 hours 29 minutes. Yes I can turn off the notifications but then I'm worried that will disable important notifications also. So I had to leave the notification in place all day. Other issue is the seat map is too zoomed in, visually difficult to navigate. Running latest Android

Entertainment videos no longer work on Android for some flights. "Payback failed" often shows. Update March 2024. App no longer allows to book flights on Android. I can get all the way through to selecting seats, but hitting "done" or "continue" makes the app crash. Have tried multiple times, multiple days, multiple weeks and cannot book flights using the app anymore.

Yes, it's broken. I just downloaded it, then signed in, click the trip button, click add trip and it crashes. I'll reload the app but can't add a trip. Clicking that button causes a crash. I've tried 5 times now and it's a hard crash where I get a pop-up it crashes and Android tells me it crashes. Such a shame it once was a pretty good app. Update: I found another way to add a trip that works! Go to the hamburger menu (3 lines on top) > travel ready center > scroll to the very bottom to add

This app is horrible. It only gives you options to rebook a current leg instead of offering alternate routes to your final destination. Pretty useless if you just need to contact a gate agent, don't offer other options that don't work effectively. Or maybe automatically rebook people when your delays cause them to miss connections.

Can't watch in flight entertainment with USB debug mode. It's an unnecessary hassle to have to change it every time. Also, scrolling through movies is a pain. All the other video players get it right. They still haven't fixed it. It's also very slow and freezes while it tries to load something all the time

International flight check-in was very painful. Check-in of multiple people was especially difficult. One workflow works, but not all paths end up there. To make it confusing, two different passport scanners were used, only one actually worked. I was starting to believe waiting at the check-in counter would be faster.

App is extremely clunky and not intuitive: - Sends push notifications every minute if I don't force close the app. I've changed the settings too - Why is there a seat map scrolling left to right (ew) and up and down depending how I select - I have to click on check in, change seats, etc twice to get there. First click fake loads - I have to click on like 6 buttons to get what I'm looking for. The process flow is too bloated - Crashes randomly & slow Please just copy AA's app, so fast and clean

Broken, AGAIN! Do they ever test their updates? I have 4 boarding passes. For some reason, when I try to add the 3rd to Google Wallet, it flips back to the 1st and says it's already added. And, every single time I check in, either the app or the website doesn't allow me to choose an available economy plus seat that is allowed by my mileage plus statuss, and I have to use the other means to check in. Super inconvenient depending on where I am at the time.

This app is the buggiest I've used in a while. It somehow lost my boarding pass after I checked in, which cost me substantial unexpected extra time. I am unable to add PayPal as a payment method for in-flight purchases. The biometric login inexplicably fails when I try to use it (such as when trying to add a payment method). It needs some serious work.

It used to work but now nothing works but viewing. Want to change your seats? Change your flight? Do anything but view? You can't. It will immediately tell you it times out. If you try to activate free messages on a flight? You can't. You have to do everything thru a web browser. This app is now only good to view your boarding pass and flight status and it's been this way for the past few months. I have the latest app and it does not work. It's a reliable as their planes...

not a smooth process to register Very complicated. Says to show travel ready badge, but where is it? I click the link, but NOTHING! Needs to be more user friendly. Shouldn't need a masters degree to do everything. Edit. Gawd, what a mess. Boarding pass doesn't even come up at airport. Had to go back for paper ticket. I've NEVER had a pleasant experience with United . NEVER!

It's fine in the States, however once you are overseas, getting anything changed or updated is a huge painful effort. Even when I connect with an agent on messaging, I get constant push back to any change. The airline is not proactive rather reactive and will not allow you to change anything ahead of time. Also, when you are delayed, it takes several times to get a hotel or food voucher. They state that anything due to weather doesn't count for assistance in delays.

The app is mostly easy to use, except for the bugs. Good luck taking a picture of your passport to upload, the app immediately closes when you verify the document and says there is a bug. Clearing cache does not help. If you try to do this through the web browser on your phone, it immediately opens up the app and throws the same error.

I enjoy all the features on this App, it makes traveling very convenient and comfortable, e.g. with a reminder about accessibility options. I like the realistic view of the aircraft to help with the accurate selection of the seats. Also, a convenient mapping to get to the right gate at the airport and avoid the risk of being late for the next airplane. Timely updates on the App keep the traveler well informed. Kudos to United Airlines for this innovative App!

Very glitchy. Anytime the app has to call the website (flight change, seat info), it loops back to the app and white screen freezes. If I try to complete the task at the website, it calls the app and gets the same white screen result. Fine for booking and checking in, fine for displaying a boarding pass, but I have to uninstall every time I need to actually do anything related to a current trip.

What a horrible design change on the May 3 update! Why can't you leave well enough alone?? The font is smaller and harder to read. The seat map views are ugly. The colors and blue used have less contrast. Space is wasted on the "cards" and don't line up in sensible columns like it used to. The app has gone rapidly downhill in recent releases. The app is crashing constantly still and that hasn't been fixed but we get investment in horrible, unnecessary UI redesign. Just stop and fix the bugs!

It still has some quirks and issues that have evolved over time, as options were added or removed. Overall the App is very useful on many levels. However, sometimes it freezes and closes, not because of the phone. It would be great if it could provide as many functions and functionality as the desktop version, but overall a great App, that is very useful

I am a very frequent flower and user of this app. It used to be that the app was great. The latest revamp has introduced a number of issus. The single most annoying problem is that clicking pin boarding pass crashes the app. Long ago it had that problem then they fixed it for several years but now it is back. Been that way for several weeks now. Hopefully they fix that, because it is a very convenient feature.
