The old tv guide took me straight to the listings by date, time and channel which is what I expected. I also liked that it allowed me to check later times and days schedules. Other items were good, but my main reason for using this app was for tv schedule with description of each program/movie. The new version sucks. Please bring back the old version as it was.

The upgrade is a downgrade. The look is updated. It tries to function as a hub for all your streaming services. However, I can no longer select "my channels", the channels I had saved that my antenna receives and I use Sling instead of a cable or satellite service, but I have to choose antenna OR Sling (when most people run with both) which means it fails as a hub.

Use it everyday, several times a day. Still prefer the older version. New version gives incomplete details and confusing information. Also breaks down when scrolling for future shows. Newer version is worse than ever. Blinding, with all the colors and boxes. Cannot scroll for future shows. Should offer options for older version. That had its hiccups, but still better than updated version. Disappointed.

It can be set for the channels and setup I use. It works flawlessly. Update Feb 7, 2021: - 4 stars. The functionality to save favorite stations has been removed. Now have to scroll through dozens of channels of no interest to me, many in unfamiliar languages, to get to what I'm looking for. I'll seek a better alternative, or just google what I'm looking for. Version 4.3.17 is disabled so I can't go back; uninstalling now. 12/8/21: fav stations back, not as good as before +1⭐

The newly updated version of this app has lost just about all the useful functionality of the previous version. You can no longer search by channel, show name or network. The display defaults to a one-up starting with channel 1, so you have to scroll a ridiculous amount to get to your usual channels (really annoying if you want to see the 800s). No current descriptions of TV episodes are displaying, just a generic description of the show. Grade of F for losing expected functionality.

Since the update, it crashes often, and doesn't let you look at an entire evening, much less the whole day. For those who like to plan their viewing, the OLD tv guide was better. I just opened TV guide, only to find that it was unable to open the channel lineup I have had for YEARS, with my SPECTRUM cable service. If this is the BETA version, in which "minor bugs" have been "fixed", TV GUIDE should scrap it, and start over from scratch!

Yeah, other reviewers are right—this "upgrade" killed the app. The icon for settings is visible at unpredictable times. I finally found the page on which to set favorites but there was no text to identify each station and no "+" icon to click. Because I use antenna tv in a metro area, the app is now useful only for scrolling through lots of stations I don't receive in order to see what's on in the next 2 hours. Off to look for a different app.

The updated version of this app blows!!! It is no longer useful as a listing source only showing listings for a few hours ahead (used to be able to search days in advance). Other options if it looks like a Netflix menu, but with no rhyme or reason for it. Its search function doesn't even allow a search of the listings just programs in its history. It's more like a museum and not even good at it. I miss the old app.

It did work great. Use it all the time. But lately, the time is off. I have it set for Chicago. And it shows antennae setting, which I want but on setting it says cable it says it's not working, try again. Main thing is time is wrong. It says 10:00 news comes on at 11:00, for example. That is resolved. I cannot look at tv listings for the next day or in past. Looking forward to listings after midnight is important to me. Please fix this problem. It was great before the "upgrade"

The only thing it does consistently is to rotate the ads. The point of the app is to present the current listings, but without scrolling it is useless. Update: it will not scroll in portrait orientation, but will in landscape. -- 2021update They just need to fire everyone involved with this version of crapware. The entire screen is taken up by a BS promotion, then the displayed clock is off by 2 hours. The listings appear to be correct, but somehow they are getting the wrong value at the top.

TV Guide has always been a respected name and source of info about what's on TV. I was hoping that the recent rewrite/update of this app would fix at least some of the many major problems that I've experienced during the time I've been using it. Not only did the problems not get any better, but features that were in the app that have disappeared have not been added back. As a software engineer with 40 years of experience in software design and development, I know that occasionally you have to release updates that contain a reduced feature set to meet release commitments. You then focus on adding the features back in the next few maintenance releases. They have not done anything close to that. On closer inspection, it now appears to me that the update was just a modification to the Graphical User Interface and not a rewrite. I've also always wanted the ability to save my favorite channels and other settings without the requirement that I create a profile where the info is saved online. It looks to me like they force that requirement so they can sell info about our viewing history to their business partners and other customers. My information is not theirs to sell unless I give it to them. I'll be uninstalling the app today.

It's nice to see what's on TV but unfortunately, I have to click listings tab every time even though it has an option to open it up to the listings tab. For some reason, it wants me to go to discover tab every single time I open the app, which is really annoying because I don't care about discover. So you should do something to fix it. Cause that's really annoying.

1m downloads and a 1.7 rating. Are the developers of the TV Guide app brain-addled? It appears so. They took an exemplary app and turned it into total garbage. After I'm finished with this review, it's being deleted. Gone is the option to only show HD listings. Gone is the option to go to the desired day and time. One thing that you can count on from developers...If there is an option to improve or cripple an app...they'll always go with the latter. Total ineptitude.

It is much improved in many ways and, once configured, pretty easy to use too. Looks nice with the dark blue background as well. I do have issues with trying to get back to the listings after viewing a program details. Today I must have clicked back about a dozen times before it returned to the guide again. I suspect the issue has to do with the advert strip at the bottom and for each component of it's changes that have happened (especially what you don't see) has to be clicked back a time for each sensor pixel, tracker, etc from whatever advert is there. It would be so nice to be able to remove those and their problem-causing consequences. At least the ads aren't flashing yet or that blinding white (so far).

I tried this app to see if it would list new shows on all my different streaming apps without having to search for them. It does not. What really sucks is that although they have a link to delete your account, it leads to nowhere and when you search for how to delete your account, it brings up nothing. This app is basically only good for getting cable/antenna programming, and whatever shows and movies they want to push from the different streaming services.

Listings aren't accurate for 85706 area. Also, I shouldn't have to have an account to favorite channels. I certainly don't with any other app I've tried so far. TV Guide always used to be my go-to in the newspapers back in the day. Now you've got this app that wants telemetry data from a "free" account. Not happening. I'll stick to to the one from Guide Plus Labs, thank you very much.

1. I can't find Dark Mode in Settings anywhere that tells how to change so TV Guide isn't in dark mode. I don't like using dark mode during the day. Can you help please and do an update to allow us the option when to use it? 2. Why doesn't the cache ever clear out when I do that? I've tried 4 times and it's still always there. AND, once again it is almost 9:00 p.m. but TV Guide is showing the time as 12:30 a.m. 3. NOW, It is skipping channels again and STARTS at channel 55!! Why?

I like this app very much. Pluses are: being able to list all my streaming and channel options and see what movies and shows I can see or look them up as to availability. Negatives are the movie and show headings. There isn't a heading for Westerns and under Action, it includes horror to science fiction. There needs to be more specific options.

After months of rating the app 2 stars, I had to downgrade it to one star. Though I've tried to contact TV Guide multiple times, the ESPN channels are still missing from the listings for my cable service. Now, the contact TV Guide form doesn't work, so they apparently don't even want to know about issues.

Trying to provide feedback gives me an internal server error. I gave it my zip code. Why does it insist i need to provide my precise location everytime i open the app? Randomly drops channels. Nothing has changed, but the app dropped almost all my channels. It'll display shows for a totally different day and time than it is right now, but if i go to select time and date - it's already accurate.
