The biggest problem I find with this app is that there's no easy way, as there is with other, competing phone apps, to block a phone number, for instance, no option in "Recent phone calls" that one can just click on to block a number shown there as there is also no apparent way to block an incoming number as it appears on the screen. It seems that you have to enter the number manually that you seek to block, an extra, unnecessary step. This renders the app less useful than it could be.

Excellent work folks ! Easy learning curve and the migration experience was not frought with problems or emails to the Dev. What a nice refreshing change. I do need one itsy bitsy addition if you would be so kind. Can you please add a toggle to Use/Do not use a contacts photo. Nobody has done this in any simplistic fashion. It's usually quite buried in the framework it is not easy to work with as it is not a simple yes or no. Thanks and keep up the great efforts. Best regards, Doug

UPDATE 2021 Had to drop it to 2 stars because there has been NO attempt to incorporate retrieving voicemail messages. Now that Android only allows access to ONE phone App at a time this is pretty close to a deal breaker. _------------------------ Useful for better integration with contacts and groups, but does not have access to voicemail or transcribed voicemails as far as I can tell.

Using this app as a replacement of exDialer. It's pretty good and has nice customisable gestures for swipe left/right, which is what I was looking for. However it really needs to ad an explicit the "edit contact" functionality (you can do it now, by long pressing on an existing field, or adding a new one which is essentially the same thing, but not as intuitive - no reason not to have both). Edit: unfortunately, the "remove ads" option doesn't work. It's kind of disappointing.

True Phone &.... works good for me. There is one feature it has that is hard to find & I consider indispensable. It is the box where you type your message. Most texting apps allow a viewing area of about 0.5 inches. True Phone allowed the message box to go all the way up. Now, it's been changed to allow only 4 lines. So I take my previous review only 3 now.

This phone app lacks one, and only one ability that all phone apps seem to lack and that is the ability to have the dialer keypad ALWAYS PRESENT during calls without having to press a dialer button. Otherwise this app is the best one I have seen so far. With many setting options and features. A clear and easy to use contact list, favorites and ability to add, change etc contacts and features. Phones through history have always had a keypad present always like flip phones in order to be able to hit touch tones used on so many phone menus and on hold services. Phones should not require having to press an extra button to get a dialpad up during a call to do this rather than just having the dialpad always there. I am not sure what writers and software designers have in their minds. Having to do these extra steps waste time, is inconvenient and a hassle. These devices should get better and make things easier then in the past, and they have done the opposite. I have always thought that they have no clue when it comes to designing interfaces and features. Without this dialer present or the option to make it present always, dialer apps and smartphones are always going to have inferiority in this area along with so many other areas they are deficient versus flip phones for using as a phone. Which is what a phone is for. That is why we call them phones. One dialer included with a new phone is so stupid and idiotic as to have to have you press one button to bring up the options during the call, and then another press for the dialpad. Thereby adding 2 extra sequential presses just to press 1 for english or what ever tone you need while on a menu during a call. ABSURD!

True Phone has amazed me with how it so wonderfully (and beautifully) alters some VERY basic phone features / functions I haven't thought twice about in twenty years. from the way it displays call logs to the basic UI conjured when when the phone rings. everything is up for streamlining, tweaking. (an example: select a contact name with user control over what triggers when I swipe Left or Right. in my case Right = sms, Left = voice) a very powerful and thoughtful piece of software!

I really, REALLY, like this app. It's easy to customize, with a ton of options, including a call recorder, that works very well. I've never had ANY issues with it. Yes, the free version has ads, but they are very small, hardly noticeable, and aren't plastered on the screen where they might interfere with the functionality/operation of the app, or cause inadvertent clicks on the ads. Try it..! I think most will like it...

After trying for months to find an app that had a simple UI, dark mode, and side-swipe answer capability, it's here! Has great customization too. Only issue is I can't disable voicemail notifications. I use a visual voicemail app, and because I can't disable this aop's voicemail notifications, I get two notifications every time someone leaves a voicemail. Please allow us to disable individual notifications like this! Will pay to upgrade app and give 5 stars when that's possible.

(After 4 days of use) This is a REAL SMART, smart phone app. TONS of cool features! You can make the call screen your own unique design & so much more. It took a little while to set up but that's only because I took my sweet time & had a lot of fun going through each & every setting. To the developers, Awesome job. I'm going to give the free version a test drive for a few weeks & based only on what I've seen so far, will probably be buying the full version. ☝🏼👍🏼 BTW, it does have a blacklist

Great!, powerful, tons of settings. I'm so impressed I bought it and am Only half way though the customization options! You can tell the Devs have really poured their heart into this app! Originally I got it bc no limitations to # of characters I can put in contact notes! It syncs perfect with Google. If you're not getting a perfect sync, make sure you don't have "only show contacts with numbers" enabled. You may have contacts without numbers. Only weakness is no link to video calling.

Found this dialer some years ago as I was searching for a replacement to a third party dialer that I had grown bored and dissatisfied with. I enjoy the ease of setup and the array of colors and customization (can change the size of the keypad which helps those with large fingers previously trying to dial small keypads). It can be as simple or complicated as you care to make it...

Wonderful app, this app is marvelous! It is easy to use and allows contact groupings, call duration, history, blocking, and everything else you could want! Just be sure to leave the stock app on - do not disable it. The setting for 'voicemail received' sound, among other settings, is in the stock app. Thank you! June, 2022: STILL wonderful! Wouldn't be without it!

Update Feb 2024... after years of us, this ap got so buggy and "improved" so I am going to find another app! Entering changes to #'s causes them to go away! Searching for 2 or 3 consecutive characters get results including any one of the characters, giving so many results so as to be useless. It went from 5 star to one star in the last year! BTW- the app is now offered in only add version. So my lifetime paid subscription is now JUNK. I just discovered that Russia is developer's home!

Great Dialer App!!! I am new to true phone dialer and so far I really like it. I just have a few recommendations for the app to tailor it for my use. First of all, can you add a darker fonts and add the option to color code the fonts. The current font is kind of light and it would be nice to color code my missed calls, answered or unanswered calls. If these features were added, i would gladly donate to have the ads be removed and have advanced options. Thanks

Can the contacts be displayed in a grid like the favorites? **Update 3/14/24..... two things.... one, though I really like this app, it would be great to have other themes for contacts. And two, Galaxy s24 phones use Google ai to translate live calls with other languages. I absolutely love this feature as I speak with many Spanish speaking people and it translates it both ways live. It would be great if this feature could be implemented. Or I could switch between the two call apps.

UPDATE: 2-24 Total BS now. I bought this app for no ads and you take away my recording feature? Total BS on Google and the app maker! Decent dialer setup with a lot of variable controls. The record feature is nice but the volume leveling is unstable. Some calls record fine while others are extremely low volume. Would like to see a button for blocking spam call numbers either during or after the call has ended like the stock Android dialer has. Will rate higher when this option is set in place.

Love and Highly recommend this app. I hate Samsung's new update. The interface is terrible. Tried another phone app, it was just too busy. Absolutely Too much. This one is perfect. Everything at your fingertips. Thank you for a great job. Changing from a 5 star to a 2 star. I don't know what has happened in the last week but if a number isn't in my favorites, I can't type the name in and get the number. It's just blank. I have to go into my android dialer to find a number and dial it.

Works quite well. No issues, a pleasure to use. Great contact feature. Well worth the price. A developer we want to support, IMHO. Update: I've been using this now for 3+ years, and there are absolutely no issues. Really really like it. Total phone, contact and messaging control. It would be neat to see the ability to pull contact pictures from the internet, like from LinkedIn and Facebook etc.. just a thought.

The app has all the essentials and really good at what it supposed to do. There are a lot of customization options and it displays a lot of information that the stock phone app doesn't. Premium is very cheap compared to the other apps, and they offer a one time payment option! On the negative side the UI is a little dated & graphic is rather basic. The color customization is from a fixed list of colors. I wish they would update the UI & add more color options. A spam database would be great!
