It is a decent app. It needs to update the algorithm for finding best routes though. I am able to find better routes via "old school" with an atlas. It also needs to track better for the routing, you could be already past your turn when it tells you to turn. Hence, the written route screen is better than the map. On a positive, it does do a good job of keeping you off non truck routes. Also, I have used the app for about 6 months, and to ask what routes are in question would be impossible

Great concept and very helpful when it works - which is half the time. I've used it for a month now and had issues here and there, mostly closing at random times and I have to reopen it while driving. Lately it's been incredibly sloppy. It'll tell me to go down a road that leads nowhere instead of the street address, but because it's closer it practically tells me I need to drive through trees to get to my destination. I wont give up on it just yet but needs ALOT of work. It's downright sloppy.

gives good truck routing, however could definitely use some improvements. I do like a lot of the options that was on the survey. the voice speech rate is really fast, but not loud enough. Other apps will pause music to give directions, this one is just lost in the background. other than that, seems like I have to update my location a lot. Over all, though I am pretty pleased with it so far. It just needs some work to make it more like what I'm used to.

It was working GREAT until a couple of days ago. It was very accurate and reliable. Since then it now gives directions that were turns an hour previous to my current location. It's not tracking me anymore, like other drivers said its crashing. I cannot rely on it and have stopped using it. Hopefully it will be fixed as I'd love to use it. I'd pay money for this app if it went back to being the accuracy it had up to a couple of days ago. *UPDATE* 2/22/20 5 weeks later, completely unreliable!

I used it today for the first time, while it did keep me on truck routes, in New York at least it skipped a step directly after toll booths so I ended up going the wrong direction a few times. Once I figured it out I was able to skip ahead and not miss any more turns after tolls. Also I only used it for two trips but it drained my battery pretty badly. I have an up to date Note 9 that normally can go all day with Google maps. Other than those 2 things I was pleased with it and plan to keep it

I'm going to try and give very honest review. It looks good and it is simple which is a plus. However I have run this application on a Galaxy tablet and an LG G8 thin q smartphone and I have found in both instances for it to be very buggy. It seems very unstable. When it works it seems to work okay but the trouble is getting into work right. I think they really need to work on the smooth operation of the application itself.

Before they started upgrading the app it worked great. Didn't have all the bells and whistles but was accurate and reliable. Now this app is terrible. It's very slow to load, GPS location is always way behind actual location, it freezes and crashes constantly. Milage and estimated time is never accurate. Really such a great app has become a huge disappointment.

I am a trucker. I have just downloaded the application and I entered a destination in NY. The application just froze after I pressed the "Start Navigating" button! This navigator does everything but navigating! (And it did it two times after two attempts). After about 3 weeks since I posted the above review I tried again - 3 times - it did the same thing! Note: All other applications function perfectly including Smart Truck Route II which I have been using for 3 months.

I'm giving 4 * just because it's free and no ads, however it has many annoying unpolished features. I want to point out that routing algorithm is very off most of the time. I live in NYC and there were many cases when I was given rout that was 2hr more to drive than the one I knew would be shorter and faster, must have feature to calculate alternate routes and some minor but annoying bugs like going blank and not responding to any commands except force closing. Please fix this things

I'm literally on the road right now traveling from Naples Florida to Branson Missouri pulling a 35 foot travel trailer. I set my destination AND CHECKED the route. I just realized that I'm 45 or so miles past I-20 and over 800 miles left on the trip when actually it's only 600 if the app would've taken me the way it was set to... somehow the app has my route switched!! The app closed 2 times and I believe when I started the app back up is when it happened. BEWARE OF THIS APP IT WILL COST YOU!!

Who's idea was it to "CHANGE" the GPS? I wish I never updated the app now its all missing cat scales, low bridges in grey on map, when u put the destination address it goes out 15 to 20 miles, tells you to exit then puts you back on interstate. Like what?? Then, if you get a phone call coming in while using this GPS, it messes up. The map pulls up, but loading takes forever and gives you a white plain screen. You then have to close it out twice then re open the map. Fix these issues!! Grrrhh

Nearly perfect! Been using it for years and it led me down the wrong street once or twice. Again, it's a free app. For some reason the GPS lags when it's in full screen mode but works just fine when I shrink it down. Of course shrinking it also makes it more difficult to read the distance until the next turn. Having said that, it's a wonderful app and should be in every truckers phone 👍🏽

A GPS That Doesn't Know How To Give Directions. Never had the crashing issue but if you want precision, this is not it. If there is a split (fork) in the road the GPS will tell you to take the next exit rather than say keep left or right. Sometimes its Directions are so far forward you'll question if you missed a turn. I've taken the wrong way several times because this app will not tell you if you need to keep right or left. It also does this weird thing with the map where it will rotate.

I really enjoy using TruckMap. I put in the address of where I am picking up or unloading in a big rig and voila. It takes me to my destination safely on truck routes. I love the satellite images from above. This helps me navigate the best way to approach my destination and also to scan for nearby truck parking. It's a great way to also look at options for getting in or out of a location just in case your route is blocked. Highly recommend 👌

Wouldn't recommend. Loved the app initially! Looks great, easy to find things. Weigh stations pop up with open/close info and ability to update. Then I started actually driving with it. It sucks! It will only update your position randomly. It'll say your 5 miles from your next turn for 3 miles. Driving down the interstate, half the time it thinks your going the wrong direction and constantly reroutes you off the interstate to go the opposite direction.

Needs improvement App reloads entirely when you switch away and back. You can't seem to adjust the zoom level of the "centered" mode when tracking your position so you can't see what's up ahead unless you manually pan around constantly, sometimes stops navigation and needs to be restarted, there doesn't seem to be a way to add a destination as a pit stop, only as an additional destination after your current one.

So... here's the thing. The maps are awesome, they show which places are good for your truck and trailer (which you can adjust in settings to fit your exact height and length) to turn into and out of. It also gives options for truck entrances instead of car entrances which is awesome! Sadly, however, that's all my praise for the app itself. Ita buggy, freezes near constantly, doesn't give advance warning on how close the turn is audibly, and doesn't know how to recalculate. Don't use it as a gps

The maps are solid and directions are accurate. Two things that, if adjusted, would make this a good trucking app. 1. Way too late on turn-by-turn directions. It will tell you that 5 miles take the exit but then that's just it. If you're not looking at the map, you have no other notification to take the exit. 2. When putting in an address for your stop, it will get you there and save the address but if you want to put a company name, you cannot edit. Better off with another app.

Absolutely Awesome. Has been working Great! Much better than Google Maps. And Trucker Route. Has Route planning. Satellite view. LED us right into the Receiver/Shipper's Parking Lot. Has a male's voice that's easy to hear and understand. Shows all Walmart's on map. And Truck stops. If you close the app out it comes back up with the last route that was set. And auto continues. I love this app. No complaints so far. Good Job!

TruckMap has a lot of potential, but it does some crazy things. If an interstate has one toll lane (express lane) it tries to route you down backroads instead of allowing you to juat not use the express lane, which is generally illegal anyway. It also sometimes wants you to drive past an exit or street and pull a u-turn! The rest is great, but if it fails at its core (navigation), I cannot give it very many stars.
