The app is great the first time you launch it but after your phone locks or you switch between apps it won't resume showing you the current information for your smoker. I then have to close the app and relaunch it in order to get the current smoker information to display and at times I have to close and relaunch more than once to get it to work. Need to spend some time working on the app. Would be a much better experience if I didn't have to mess with it and it just worked.

I have the new treager timberline. At some point after turning on the smoker and connecting to the app, it will lose connection. I've lost connection 10 ft from the smoker and I've lost connection away from my house. After loosing connection it will not re-connect... no matter what I do it just shows off line. I've restarted the app, cleared the cache, re-loaded the app, re-started my phone.... nothing will fix this problem. This happens every time I've used it.

Minus the controller going out within a year, the grill has been great. Contacted Traeger and they had the parts sent out for free and quickly. I use it weekly, so I figured there would be wear and tear. The reason it only gets 3 stars, is the app is terrible. The interface is user friendly and okay, but it signs me out constantly, won't connect online anymore, can't access my account without changing my password every time? And none of the controls work from the phone anymore. App needs fixing

Could use some graphs... Love the recipes. Love the Wifire when it works. The app is still too unstable to reliably use the timer, but I can check and change the temps from anywhere. I would really like to see a running line graph charting time from my phone vs. set temp, actual temp, and probe temp. Overall, very nice. Definitely changed the way I grill for the better.

App is fine, but it fairly often stops updating with temperature information, both from a meat probe and from the main chamber thermocouple. That needs fixed ASAP. It also bugs me that I can't create programs in the app and upload them to the grill. The only option for programming is on the controller on the grill. That's pretty annoying and the app could definitely do it better. It just doesn't. So it's a fine app, but could be more robust. Tip: When pairing to WiFi, disconnect from a VPN.

When it connects its ok. No graphing for historical temperature data is a bummer. Problem is, every time I turn the grill off, it won't connect properly when turned back on. I have to reconnect it every time and sometimes it won't reconnect and I have to forget the network on the grill a few times to get it to work again. If they can fix the firmware on the grill to stay connected, it's a solid 4 star app. Add more data to the monitoring and I'll give it 5.

It works. Kinda. Fonts don't work well in some screens so setting temp or timer is way more difficult than it should be. Have to close the app and reconnect while smoking to get updates, just seems to lose connection constantly. Search feature is awful, I mean can't imagine a way to make it worse. Saved recipes sometimes take seconds or even minutes to show back up. For what I paid for the smoker, this is a pretty poor app experience.

It's great when it works, but 9 times out of 10 it just says "failed to load" and I can't use it. I've cleared cache, and reinstalled. It just randomly loads sometimes, and I have no idea what makes it work. The notifications always work still, but i cant actually use the app interface most of the time. That being said, I still love my Traeger.

This app needs some serious work. Grill Wifi CONSTANTLY will not stay connected during long cooks. I can monitor but still can't trust it. You can't adjust Temps after a while, the probe will report the wrong temp, and the app won't alarm. It will think the app has the right info and the grill will report a different temp. I've just cleared the cache, all data, and reinstalled the app. Still won't let me adjust the temp. I've got a robust WiFi system with incredible speeds 15ft from the WAP.

Love Traeger! I love the ability to connect my phone to my grill. This app has a ton of potential and for the most part does what it's supposed to. The recent update is designed nicely, I just seem to have a few issues with it. It seems a little glitchy. Searching for a recipe is a bit of a pain. There are also times when I find a recipe and it doesn't show the steps or directions one minute but in the reload they appear. Just needs a little work. Could be my moto z Android, but it's glitchy.

Echoing the sentiments of others, I can honestly say that this is an excellent smoker very capable. In optimal conditions, the entire product with the app works fantastically well. Unfortunately, something seems to have happened in the last few months and as you can read from many other reviewers, this seems to be a system-wide problem. As it currently stands, my Wi-Fire enabled grill is not able to communicate with my phone without constantly freezing and requiring restarts.

Pros: Recipes, informative articles, connects to your Traeger. Cons: Search feature doesn't support swipe or voice typing; app overall isn't very accessible for low vision users like me (yep, I'm legally blind and smoke like a boss). Font can be difficult to read, app isn't responsive to dynamic text, can't select proper smoke temp because of this.

Decent and gets the job done. It would be nice to have a widget to place on your home screen or a something in the notification drop-down for at a glance info when actively using the smoker however so I don't have to keep opening the app. I have had it where I can't load the app and have had to clear app data and cache a few times for it to load but not terrible.

App definitely needs an update to allow more fine tuning of your smoke times. All the app can do is turn off the smoker, set cook temperature, and set and monitor the probe temperature. Although this may be fine for a beginner, those that like multi stage cooking still have to set everything manually on the smoker. Definitely annoying, but not so bad that I'm deleting the app.

No temperature in the Android pulldown notification area? No widget that displays quick access to current temperature or allows changing temperature? No way to tap on the number and choose when I'm setting a timer? Instead I have to scroll through 30 times to get to 30 seconds? I mean, it's nice to be able to control the grill with Wi-Fi, but this app definitely needs some help. If it's reliable with temperature and timer, I'll bump it up a star. But time will tell based on the reviews I read

Trash, Great smoker, but either fix the app or trash it. Not only is it not functional, anyone who uses it will waste the food on the grill. The timer simply stops running and resets, the connection to the grill doesn't last more than a few mins at a time (and that with an excellent wifi connection). I've "started" the recipe 3 times, it runs and then everything goes back to step one and it tells me to press start when the meat is on the grill. Waste of time, energy, and money.

This gets a second star only because the recipes are actually pretty good. The structure of the app and its performance is complete trash. It forgets what recipe I'm on after a relatively short while, and when I go to search it again, the recipes page won't open. Seriously guys, this has been a persistent problem ever since I downloaded the app more than a year ago, please address this, I'm not the only one with this problem.
