Great and fun port the only bug I've had was there was a game it wouldn't let me pull up the units stats when holding down on the icon so I kinda had to guess what was better just going off price. Also like other people have said it would be nice to be able to play as every faction like in Rome and BI. There's pc mods for this so doing it on mobile should be an option too.

I have 1k hours in desktop so coming to this was frustrating. The campaign mechanics run smoothly and are a 4/5 but the battles are just terrible. 1/5 There is no way to truly zoom out when in battle, leaving you with vision of 7 of the 30 units on the field. As I was posting this review, the game crashed and lost the battles I just won. Last update was December 5th 2024 so there needs to be more support for the pricetag...

Amazing game! Extremely in-depth strategy and tactics. Great in all aspects, playability, graphics, historical references, the list goes gone. The game is very new and has a lot of bugs that would keep me from buying it. But once all the bugs are fixed, this game will be worth every penny.

Great addition to the total war series by feral! They should have hired you guys to make the Age of Empires mobile that is straight garbage. Imagine if that happened. Anyways, graphics superb , gameplay super fun. Lotta nostalgia with improvements, as others have said. No crashes yet. S23 ultra 8gb. Should add update to let us play the smaller factions as well. Be cool.

100% recommend Empire, to any total war fan who has played the other ports. If you are new to the series, then your safer to get either TW Rome or ME2, this is a massive game, unlike other mobile "ports" which seems to be some sort of overlay display. This is a genuine functioning title, not a 1 for 1 like other TW games had accomplished. But an adaptation which I feel is very welcoming. I would say this also has the best graphics of the titles. Which does make the dollars count a bit more.

Fantastic experience all around. Big improvements upon preference games. Only major downside for me personally is the cloud saving. The fact that it is the ONLY way to save your game is ridiculous. And that you need perfect internet? I think? With all this being said, ive lost multiple save points where i was 20+ turns ahead of where it set me back. After the first 3 times its fine but after there i feel there is just no progression and lose the fun because non of the progress is being kept.

First off, it's amazing that they were able to port this to mobile. I can't believe that I can play this game on my phone! There are many bugs that make it hard to play though. In every campaign I've played I have hit some point where if I make one move (declare war/capture a city) the game will crash. I've gotten around this by ignoring the bugged city but for an 18 dollar mobile game I would expect better.

I have logged over 2,600 hours into Tw: Empire Definitve Edition. I know the game very well. So when I say that the devs who brought this game to mobile exceed my expectations, I mean it. Undoubtedly, they have reworked every aspect of the game, from technology research to politics and combat, into the best it could possibly be. I would even recommend the mobile version over the PC if you're looking for a vanilla TW: Empire experience

There are some issues that need to be addressed. 1. After reinstalling the game, downloading your backup saves from Google Drive doesn't pick up your Road to Independence progress. THIS IS HUGE! Either allow Drive to back up the entire save state or give us an option to bypass the Road to Independence grind in the options menu. 2. Some of the options don't save. 'Distortion Effects' is the biggest culprit. Every time I turn it off, it turns back on after I boot up the game again.

Made it to turn 95 with some occasional crashes that weren't a huge deal, but now it's stuck and won't stop crashing. I tried killing all other apps, turning off the CPU turns, and updating/restarting my phone, nothing worked. This is really frustrating, and if a patch doesn't come out soon, I'll be seeking a refund. For the price of this game, I expect a much more seamless experience. Update: after contacting support, they offered me a resolution that works. Still some glitches, but it works.

Great game, well optimized for mobile, flawlessly on a 8 gen 3, doesn't even make the phone hot. Also works great in desktop mode (DeX) hooked to an external monitor with a keyboard and mouse, the controls are basically the same as the desktop version of the game, which is great! (I wish you could make the UI elements and mouse cursor smaller in desktop). Only thing I wish is that it didn't automatically restart when I fold my phone and have the app open on my Fold 6.

As someone with a ton of hours in the desktop game, this is great, gonna eat all my time, but great. I really wish there was a way to adjust the notifications in game, I don't get notifications for buildings or recruitment that I can find, which every other total war game has, and it's a pain clicking through settlements trying to find building. Maybe I just can't don't l find it, but help would be appreciated

Admittedly I've put too many hours into this game, but that's because it's good, Fun port of an old classic. That said there are still a lot of bugs, s21+ struggles to make it through end turn cycle after turn 70-80, random crashes, thing like that. Also, for some reason, you can only exit the game sometimes less than a minute before it completely resets. The app refreshes and the game doesn't consider it a crash or bug. Not a great feature and it needs improvement.

This is probably the best adaptation of a classic computer game for the phone. The bugs are limited and not game breaking, and the play is fun. It took a bit to learn all the different commands, but once you do, the game is smooth. Feral please get the rights to adapt age of mythology!

Hey Feral, thanks for bringing top-tier strategy games like Total War: ROME, MEDIEVAL II, and Empire to mobile. You’ve done an amazing job with the ports. If possible, please consider adding Total War: Shogun 2—it’s a fan favorite and would be perfect on mobile like the others. Your work is deeply appreciated, and we look forward to more great releases.

ETW Mobile Review. Excellent mobile version of a very good game. Only limiting factor I've found is (due to reduced size of phone, pad, et .) the limitations in controls on the battle screen make quick and detailed management difficult. The strategic map is a duplicate of the full-size PC game. And the BEST feature is how much better this mobile version runs so much more stable than the PC version. Love it!!!!

It showed that I could download it, so I did. It ended up using up all my space, and it wasted my money. I get that this is more of the phone's fault than Feral's but at least grey out the install button so I know I can't get it. Edit: I can now play the game, but it crashes either every other turn, or before land battles. Naval Battles for some reason work fine (albeit with horrible lag). If you guys could properly port the game to this device and/or others, that'd be great. overall, great.

The young kid in me simply can't believe how far we've come in terms of mobile graphics! Feral Interactive has done an absolutely amazing job bringing this behemoth of a PC game to mobile! The only reason why I give it 4/5 stars is for its lack of graphics settings options. I have a top of the line Samsung Galaxy Ultra and would've loved to see SSAO and 60fps options in the graphical settings. Other than that, this game is a must buy for all fans of the Total War series!

They have done the seemingly impossible task of making Empire's AI... actually functional. legitimately better than the PC version. Aggressive, still dumb, but no more charging their cannons into your line infantry or sending one unit at a time to fight you instead of as an army in battle. It's biggest problem is lack of QOL. It is incredibly annoying losing an entire battle because you can't resume if you exit unlike the other ones. Especially because Empire's battles take way longer to fight.

Incredible, but frustrating! I have played Total War games for a lot of years on PC. I never actually knew feral games made ports for mobile. Once I found out I downloaded Empire, one of my favorite games of all time on PC. That being said, it's almost a like for like port, amazing visual on both campaign map and battles... only frustrating I have is with the in battle troop selection, the smart select doesn't unselected units enough, and the always is too much, but I'm just being critical
