More About Thronebreaker

Enjoy a few hours of the playthrough for FREE. Upgrade for the full version and continue your adventure with Meve shaping the story along the way!
Thronebreaker is a single player campaign for GWENT: The Witcher Card Game. Choice-driven, and cast with rich, multi-dimensional characters, it once again thrusts gamers into the monster-infested world of The Witcher.

Crafted by the developers responsible for some of the most iconic moments in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the game spins a truly regal tale of Meve, a war-veteran queen of two Northern Realms — Lyria and Rivia. Facing an imminent Nilfgaardian invasion, Meve is forced to once again enter the warpath, and sets out on a dark journey of destruction and revenge.

Definitely needs better support for various resolutions. On my Galaxy Fold 2, it's next to impossible to use character abilities since only their shadow is shown in game, with their actual body being cut off from the screen entirely. Virtual Joystick support? Trying to move Meve around the map and interact with objects is very finicky.

So, I love this game for what it is. •Pretty much a point and click adventure outside of combat. I knew that going into it, and would think others would know that too. Not like it's hidden... I love visual novels, so... 👍🏾 •Combat and combat puzzles are handled in PVE Gwent battles, which I loved from Witcher 3. I was waiting for a solo way to play Gwent again and if that isn't what you're looking for, keep looking. PVP makes me very anxious, so thank you cdproject red for porting this!

This is a great game except that it's a book. The game mechanics seem excellent, but (in the campaign) there are exclusively exceptions to the rules. Deck building is irrelevant as everything is packed so tightly, that you can't customise a deck and seeing that in every battle you are given only the exact cards you need to win - if played in the exact right order. There's no playing in this game, you're just following along, might as well read a book.

Mixed bag. Beautiful art, story and voice-acting. Terrible save mechanic, and the gameplay has turned Gwent, one of the most enjoyable aspects of WitcherIII imo, into a single-solution puzzle. Some of the combined card abilities end up just being wonky, watching the opponent spend three minutes on a turn, and then I still win somehow. Duke of Dogs battle is just ludicrous, and then it autosaves at the paywall. Can't recommend.

The best game on android. Thank you CDPR, play store needed this. The story is wonderful, the puzzle are awesome, the battles are great. On top all this, the world seems real and beleivable. The free roam is awesome. The characters memorable. The decision making actually makes you pause and think. The choices are meaningful and resounding. Once again, thank you CD Project Red.

Part 3 does not start downloading. Google Play asks for Wi-Fi to download, but I am connected to one, and preferences are set to download over any network. Parts 1 and 2(of 13) downloaded just fine. Haven't been able to play for this reason, but I'll update my review if/when this is fixed. Edit: Thanks for the reply. Looking forward to your fix. :D

It's such a shame that you need to buy another Thronebreaker game in order to play it on your phone. I already have purchased the game on Steam. It's the same account I have with my Gwent. This is not cross platform? Do CDPR need to charge extra for same exact game? I really need clarification. Cuz I wouldn't play same progressions or quest twice.

This card game is different to most of the other card games, your main goal is not kill the enemy, i am very confused at the beginning, but after playing several battle, i started understanding what happened and feel the fun. This game get a very enjoyable storyline, and the music is amazing, it worth the price, it also unlock some gifts and transfer to their Gwent game too.

Even though the game is great, I played it on my PC I was very disappointed when I downloaded it on my mobile and realised that I couldn't connect with my GOG account. Instead, you made it as we have to buy it again. Very disappointing. The same is for Alzur Rouge Mage, you need to buy it separately on mobile and on PC if you want to play.

EDIT: Almost finished the game and I want to thank CDPR for the mobile port which got my attention after missing it in the first release. I am recommending it to everyone I know. Again: Thank you! The world is interesting and the story is epic. Playing is exciting and relaxing at the same time. The audio (music, voice acting, sound effects) is superb in both English and German.

Great moving card art and strong voice acting, think I've heard a few familiar voices from Telltales GOT and they fit well in the witcher universe. Is a fair bit to take in at first but I think I've gotten the jist of it from the tutorial. Only thing I'm disliking is the unresponsive movement on the main map, clicking and holding one way but going another. Also bummed it's free for android but not switch at first as I think the controls would help.

Great way to play Gwent and the game is extremely addictive. I've got some technical issues: when leaving the app and resuming it, the game appears to only utilise 1 CPU core, overloading it. This causes the framerate to drop heavily and the device to get hot. (Galaxy Z fold 2) Also the characters don't fit on the screen in tablet mode. You can't see Meve during battle, but luckily if you drag from the corner of the screen, you can still use her abilities

***Full game bought *** This game is a lot of fun with plenty of awesome music, atmosphere, lore and witcher-like lesser evil choices leading to grim outcomes. Now the only thing I don't like it's the save system.I wish I could save my progress without overriding my previous save so that I could reload the save files in case I choose wrong or at least manual save and autosave to be separate. With that system in place this game would be perfect.

Excellent quality from the music, sound effects, narration, subtle references to the Witcher games, graphics, and animation. Just a masterpiece. The game got better after I paid, which is so unlike other apps of this era. Thank you for continuing to make games in this way. I wish everyone who worked on this masterpiece tremendous success. This is an example of why CPR is held in high regard.

The story, the music, the voice acting, and the whole atmosphere is amazing. The difficulty, some puzzles, and the ending, could have been better, but still had a lot of fun in (almost) 40 hours. Bugs, and others: There are some frustrating bugs. (Like: Sometimes used cards graphic layers stucks in your hand, and hides an other card. In some battles the target selection mechanic stops working, and cant finish the fight.) It makes my phone quite hot, and uses up a lot of my battery.

Definitely better than it's cashgrab successor alzur one. This one is packed to the brim with story, and has more maps instead of reruns. Cons: repeating dialogue on retry. On my old phone (note 10 plus) crashes sometimes on 2 login videos which cant be turned off. That phone could run the actual app itself on max no sweat. Not to mention the second vid (non story) is low res with cropped edges anyways possibly from the pc version. If it's buggy / uncompressed, shoulda been removed.

Love the availability for android! A bit frustrated with the trinkets from Thronebreaker not pulling over to the Gwent App. I receive an error message that said "Failed to unlock trinket, try again later". Outside of that I've enjoyed my experience and appreciate the effort to bring it to android. Also, I would like to add that any future attempt to create an MMORPG that allows players to play from any race in the Witcher world would be a very exciting prospect!

Just bought this and Battle Chasers. Between the two of them I've been having so much fun. Playing them over my Xbox currently, so that says a lot. I don't play mobile games unless it's a full fledged console experience, and this definitely is. So glad I found both. Really wish it could be played offline, could lose a point for that alone, but I'll keep it at 5 outta 5. Must play for not just mobile gamers, but RPG lovers! Wish more mobile games were like this. Rather pay $10 upfront over mtx.

Great game that has been addapted for mobile play. I'm simply disappointed that it requires an internet connection to initialize. I pay for a single player game. I don't expect to need data or wifi to play. My work requires me to travel a great deal or spend time in spaces that block wifi signal for extended periods. I thought this game would help pass the time but I guess it was a wast of 10$.

Great game. If you like the Gwent mechanic, but thought that plain Gwent got pretty repetitive (as it did), you must try this. The game has a strong story driven plot with branching storylines and choices with consequences (they progressively get more meaningful and peak at act 3), interesting puzzles and an engaging exploration gameplay. Highly recommended for Witcher fans who like Gwent. Ask for developers: fix the game to allow new installs. Currently can't install it on new devices.
