It's nice because there are no ads, but the app is terrible. The character limits make no sense (you can leave a way longer comment on IG where no one cares). People are always making longer comments by replying to themselves, but that's confusing and ugly and makes reponses ridiculously complicated. Also, if you switch to another app for a moment it'll randomly erase everything you've written and put you back in the algorithm.

At first it was the good aap that we can see the translation option at the right bottom corner of other's people post but after update it's totally different that I can't see translation option at a bottom right corner of others people post. They are posting in every language so it's difficult to take screen shot of all the post and comments then translate. I want translation option back.

Posting on threads with a gif upload, seems to have broken the app. Constantly says uploading when i tap the image. It won't upload. I cannot view any of my previous posts, other people's posts, interactions with others, nothing. I have no idea if it is uploading or not and if it is, it will eat up my mobile data while I am not on WiFi. I tried clearing the cache, no change, still "uploading". No other app has an issue with uploading of photos, videos or gifs.

2 months using the app and still don't understand how to see comments on the post. If you click bubble icon, then it lwts you to comment but don't see other comments. From that you (inside the post) you can't access them, need to go back and click on the post. When you commented, then it doesn't immediately appear in th thred, but if you click back-forward you can see it. Strangest UX solutions I've ever saw

Hopped on in this when it was first issued in July 2023 and then realised it had too many bots or Verified accounts given the priority for Reach. I left and rejoined in Dec 2023 and left again on 18th May 2024. It's full of bots, ai rubbish and only verified accounts get exposure. For the last 4 weeks, there's virtually zero interaction from my followers and it was a complete waste of my time. I uninstalled it and back on Instagram as I have been using that since April 2012.

The app's design is good, but there's room for improvement. Introducing innovative features in Threads would help it stand out from other social media platforms. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with the app. However, the most critical aspect is that it should not promote hate speech, regardless of the user's country or language. To achieve this, I suggest distinguishing between people who use social media for fun, networking, and learning and those who use it for political activism and spreading

Threads is a fresh and innovative app designed to enhance personal communication and social sharing. Developed by Instagram, it offers a streamlined and visually appealing interface that makes staying in touch with close friends both simple and engaging. The app's focus on intimate connections allows for seamless sharing of photos, videos, and status updates, creating a more private and meaningful social experience. With features like auto-status, Threads keeps friends updated. homeodriqbal.pk

Decent place to flee Xitter, but is critically flawed as a product: 1. Needs to use all of the real estate of large screens (tablet app would be appreciated, but not holding breath). Even in the browser about 40% of the screen is not used — this is a major, major fail, mimicking Instagram’s idiocy. 2. Search is abysmally bad. We need far more granularity, including time based conditions. 3. We need custom lists yesterday.4. Need to have more control of personal algorithm

Threads is an amazing app and I definitely would recommend it to anyone. There's just one snag I have that is starting to annoy me currently and that is constantly being bombarded with notifications that are hours old rather than new and also most of them are repeating notifications and I'd like if Threads would fix this issue. 🙏 thank you.

Really awesome agenda format - can limit likes and replies . Can switch profiles easily, and look at the IG . But it works better than IG. Also has better privacy features, it's very easy to add profiles and make new accounts if needed, and to curate follows . It is especially easy to customize the feed with muting . I like it a lot .

I just have downloaded Threads and it's not a bad app, in fact it's a pretty cool. Of course coming from being a, starving artist, that I am promoting myself constructively. The app has been working just fine, easy navigating through. The name fits and I can see the concept behind it for titling the app. The icon of the app is ok, I just think it's plain. It needs to be bold and pop out at you with a uniqueness. Other than looks, that app is pretty cool! Have a Great Day, Folks.

I got threads because people were following me, and now that I have it, I don't use it. I don't get the point of it. I thought the point was to be more text/conversation based than Instagram, but it has a really small character limit, so it's not, and people are just posting all the same memes and pictures and stuff that are on Instagram. I don't get it.

Constantly changing, slowly improving. The recommended 3-step opt-in to see more "political" content helps. Following a LOT of people helps. Currently a buggy interface between Insta and Threads. The lack of lists really hurts all those who appreciated having shared interest groups on ex-Twitter.

This was a great app for finding random people and shouting into the void. But it's got problems and they don't seem to get fixed. Videos that freeze when unmuting, weird darkening of the screen (shows up in screenshots), aggressively scrolling to the top if you switch away or turn off the screen for a second, and now the following feed is gone. It's becoming a chore to keep using the app.

Great app with a lot of potential! However, there is a lot that needs to be fixed. For example, the option to mute accounts is lagging/delayed. This feature is definitely needed at this stage, which is part of the next problem. Another issue I've noticed is the home page shows a lot of accounts I don't follow and have never heard of, and a lot of blue check accounts that I don't want to see. There is no way to filter them out to see the content I actually want, from people I follow.

While it had a lot of initial interest, I'm weary of how bad the ads are going to be if Facebook is any indication. It lacks a lot of personalization options like colors, font sizes, banner images, or other settings available in competitors like Xwitter, but is at least stable and easy to navigate. Definitely a more complete experience using the app than trying to use the web verson.

Overall great social experience. A place to start and maintain conversations about any interests. It seems the overall culture is positive and constructive. I will say, however, that the app currently does not use the native photo picker or native share sheet and instead uses its own. Not good. It also lacks the ability to disable the in-app-browser. I would like links to open in Chrome, not in the app.

Threads, an Instagram app, promises seamless communication with close friends but falls short in execution. While the focus on intimate sharing is commendable, the app's performance is inconsistent, with frequent crashes and slow loading times. Additionally, the lack of robust features compared to other messaging apps limits its utility. Despite its potential, Threads needs significant improvements to earn a higher rating.

It needs some improvements. It's gotten a little better in the past few weeks. There are still some kinks, and it's lacking some features that should be obvious. My biggest issue with the app is that some videos will have no sound. When you click the sound icon to turn on the sound, the video freezes and won't play. So you can either watch it with no sound or move on. Opening the full video doesn't help. Following their channel won't help. Nothing works! It's only on some videos. Seems random.

UPDATED REVIEW 8 MONTHS AFTER RELEASE: The app has added some widely requested features. Tapping the icon at the top lets you view your "following" feed and you can use multiple accounts. The bug with video playback not having sound sometimes is still an issue for me. Reading other reviews, I agree that a direct messaging system independent of Insta would make this even better. It's become a great alternative to X (formerly Twitter), just needs some things ironed out. Added 1 star.
