Good game, great graphics. Some of the puzzles were very easy, and some of the difficult ones had a "skip" button - which is good as I wasn't prepared to pay for hints... I still had to run around quite a bit trying to work out what I'd missed! I prefer these games where the whole area is available all (or at least most) of the time, rather than one room at a time.

Very nice puzzle game. Graphics were detailed. Little to no storyline. Not in the league of the same types of games by companies who are included in Big Fish Games. I got to play the expanded version on sale. The puzzles were easily solvable by collecting the clues throughout the game. All up, a game to hold interest and finished in a few hours. Thanks developers, I will be awaiting any further expansions (as it seems the adventure is far from over) and happy to pay for the next installment.

Love the puzzles and how you have to think hard to solve them, backtrack a lot, carefully inspect everything, because if you miss one tiny detail then it would be really hard. I was doing well at first but some puzzle were absurdly hard for me, I had to consult some walkthroughs, but after a few, I was able to finish it. Took me almost 1 hour or so. Really had fun playing this. So sad it was short.

A very good puzzle/escape game. Although the basic mechanic can be a bit frustrating at times (run from scene A to B, pickup object, go back to A, solve puzzle, get new object, run to C, solve other puzzle, get second object, go back to B, etc.). Half of the game is just running back and forth to find objects. I would say most puzzles in it range from easy to medium difficulty, with a few hard puzzles. Graphics are ok but the use of photographs feels strange, with strange perspectives at times.

Quality puzzle-adventure. Fast travel and hint system are helpful, saving unnecessary effort and preventing to be stuck on missed detail. All puzzles and their hints are logical from the backwards point of view. It is easy to follow when items and puzzles are solved as soon as obtained. In such a case, the inventory does not have more than 2-4 items at any point - besides mandatory crowbar and fire ignition set.

A great game as one of syntaxity's earlier offerings. Having played through a few of the other games, the puzzles were quite familiar and the game seemed to be over quickly. Not as much having to walk and explore different areas of the map as some of their other games but still a top game. Would recommend as a first synaxity puzzle game to play.

A game with many puzzles & locations to visit, but the puzzles are too easy: many are of the locks/keys, buttons/combinations or slot/lever types... and the many locations become a burden as the puzzles/keys/codes are far apart for no apparent reason, and you have to travel a lot between them. It's nice that the game "takes a photo" of found codes, so they are readily available when you get back to the respective mechanism. If you can remember where it was... Not enough overall logic/narrative 😕

An improvement on the previous version of this game with extra puzzles, continuing the story, such as it is - A couple quite tricky. What's not so good is having to pay for extras, like tips - I mean, who's going to when you can check the likes of YouTube for free? Having also to pay for fast tracking! Really?! What was extra annoying was the constant pop up reminders for this. Surely once or twice is enough? Still fun, but a mixed bag of extras

The music and sfx are good. The environments and objects are beautifully rendered and look very realistic. The card suit puzzle is too tough and illogical for me. Otherwise, the game is good. I turned on Android's built-in Accessibility feature, Magnify with triple-tap, so I can enjoy the objects and scenes close-up.

I don't normally play puzzle games, not even sure why I download it. But I am glad I did. It was fun. Once I started playing it, I couldn't stop, especially when I got stuck. Good graphics, simple controls, but the best part of the game is that some of the puzzles/clues REALLY make you think "outside the box". I am going to try their other games.

A few truly challenging puzzles, but not so difficult they required cheating. One clue was difficult to see due to lighting, but otherwise well designed. I've noticed that all of Syntaxity's games often won't reload from recents (seems to maybe be if they're unloaded from RAM) and require closing and relaunching them, which is annoying.

Reeally really like these games, my favorite game series on the various app stores, but I have to mark this one down because of the incongruity of the item progression. SPOILERS AHEAD. I significantly lose immersion when I open two ancient "unmoved in centuries" stone heads to acquire three ornate gems to open a secret temple... In order to get a grappling hook to use behind a cave I could have used modern day explosives and a ladder to get through. Still going to buy the other games, though.

genuinely enjoyed this game. it was a real challenge, but not impossible. you'll be kicking yourself when you suddenly make sense of some of the clues. i hope to find more games like this. With all that said, I installed this game while it was on special for free. I would not want to pay money for a game so short, with no way of getting free hints to some of the more difficult areas. If there were additional adventures to embark on afterwards it would be worth the money.

Fun. There was one or two puzzles that were difficult to solve . The online walk thru didn't give a clear resolution of how the puzzles were solved. Felt like I was walking back and forth through the maps way more than I should, but guess that's how all these types are designed to do. I'm sure it's also bcs I don't remember details of maps too

Was fun but not a really good payoff once you complete it all. If there was more reward at the end it would have made it more extravagent. They also need to make a better fast travel system because having to look for what scene I was looking for made it very tedious. It might look satisfying seeing all the scene you've done all scattered to make it look more, but it gets annoying quick. Other than that I enjoyed it. Was 3 stars bc it wouldn't be worth if bought.

syntaxity and fire maple are just my speed. simple graphic and inventory puzzles that test your memory a little but aren't too difficult or illogical. keeps my mind active but still allows me to relax. quite a bit of backtracking if you don't want to pay for fast travel. good variety of puzzles. pleasant art, music and sound effects.

With Update: still very easy, only found 2 or 3 puzzles/clues to be a challenge, but it's a fun little time killer esp for the initial price of $1.99. With the update I found fast travel ($.99) to be helpful, but after finishing the game again you don't necessarily need it as you mostly finish with 1 section of the map while working on the next section. Thanks for contacting me about the updated game, Syntaxity! Worth it!

Another syntaxity game I have really enjoyed. This one seemed very short and less of a thrill to get to the end so quickly. Update: The free expansion made the ending more fulfilling. Had to start over from the beginning, but that added to the completeness of the game as it had been a while that I have played this game and some puzzles were more tricky to solve. It's still an enjoyable game I can recommend.

The game has been added onto so it's not as short, and fast travel is free, so ignore that from old reviews. While The Lost Ship is fun (got it on sale for free), it's not as good as Blackthorn Castle. Some puzzles, like the water pipe and card symbols, are designed poorly. Looking past that, though, there's plenty of good content, so not bad overall.

awesome game - point and click controls remind me of Myst, but the puzzles are much easier to figure out, in that it's much clearer what each puzzle's controls do. it was a little disappointing that the solution for area 13 was so specific, but that was the only puzzle I had trouble with. it wasn't *easy*, but it was quite doable without hints. it just needs patience and a lot of back of and forth work. overall, an excellent game. keep up the good work, Syntaxity!
