I use this app because my parents don't want to have to pay for another phone line (our carrier is Verizon so it's really expensive). At first this app worked quite well for the first two years or so. Recently starting last year, it's difficult for my messages to send and even if they do send, sometimes the receiver can't see it. In addition, some parts of long texts can't be seen from this side, and they started making me pay for calls (??). Overall pretty crappy and works only 20% of the time.

Such a headache! The ads are ridiculous. If I'm going to have to watch an ad after each phone call, I should receive credit for those ads also. Not only that, this app lags terribly! The reload is also the worst! After closing the app, when trying to go back to it, it just stays stuck on the logo page. I have to constantly delete and reinstall the app in order to go back to using the app. And, not to mention, it never let's me just log in, I have to sign up and then gain access to prev. account.

After comparing options for a temporary means of communication when my phone died, I downloaded this app. Honestly, I am pleasantly surprised! Outgoing calls to cellphones appear to be cheaper than to landlines, incoming calls are free, missed calls are shown in notifications. There are various add-on options, such as removal of ads, etc. I highly recommend giving it try. *Just keep in mind, it relies on wifi.*

Update : now you're getting ads so you can't text when you want... Yeah this app is going down and down... But all the sudden this app had been bombarded with ads. I can't even close the app quickly because I get smashed with an ad as soon as I try and close it. Also I want to say that occasionally I have to either restart my phone or wifi connection to get a message. So it's not reliable all the time.

The WORST texting app. Messages won't send 9 times out of 10 regardless of your wifi or cellular data strength. Quite annoying to sit there and keep restarting the app just to try to get 1 message to go through EVERY TIME. Do yourself a favor and download literally any other app. This is the worst one I've ever used. Nothing sends. If it does it comes up minutes later and says "not sent" so you get to sit there and fight with it.

Worked very well for 2 days then quit working. Rebooted phone, uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Doesn't work. I've used this app off and on for many years. Not sure what happened with the current version, but it does not work. I'm on a paid subscription, so that's especially annoying. Do not pay for this app unless you test the free version for a few days first!

I love all the different ways to get rid of the ads. I want to love this app, but it still needs a lot of work. It's very buggy, and here are some of the recurring ones: group chats do not sync well at all and when they do the individual messages are displayed very far apart and out of order, notifications for this app are turned on, but I do not get any, a lot of times messages do not send.

App doesn't work, I have great internet connection and tried multiple times to get past the initial set up page. I used this app many years ago and it went downhill back then and now I see it's unimaginably worse. I'd give zero stars if possible, it's waste of your time and life. Google voice has better service and features that actually work.

I'm really frustrated with this app called Text Plus. Subscribing for six months was a regrettable decision. I strongly advise everyone to steer clear of it; it's the most useless texting app ever. The only redeeming quality is the ability to make calls, but texting is completely dysfunctional. I can't send or receive texts. Whenever I try, I just get an error message saying the message failed. It's disappointing that it's even allowed on the Play Store.

Well Folks, they have found other ways to make money and take your time. First, if you get an incoming call, answer on one ring and you get a recording that says the calling party has hung up. This makes you call back and use your money, even though the caller can hear you say hello. Then with the videos, the rewards clock will freeze, but the video keeps going. You do not get money for watching it. Sometimes the screen goes black and shows nothing. I stop the video when it freezes. What a scam!

Really liked the way I can get a number locked in if I don't have a debit card I watched videos to earn it. I was able to get a verification code for a couple platforms. However, it isn't working for a couple shopping apps and it is requiring me to use text+ as my default but I don't have the option to do so like TextNow or Google calling apps do. 🫤

It says i can earn 4 cents watching ads. However, it only gives me 2 cents each time. I have inquired about it but have jump through hoops to prove it. Also, most of the time i cannot even have the opportunity to view the ads because the system says nor available. I pay yearly to keep my number, but it us just not worth the headache anymore.

Sometimes the app is slow to respond when hitting the answer button when receiving a phone call, even on fast devices with high speed internet (800mb/s) No picture/video messages can be recieved/sent in standard format. Phone number is not accepted in many situations. OTPs can not be sent to textPlus numbers. But, the app is constantly be improved, so there is a bright future for textPlus. Looking forward to when I can give 5-stars!

Not able to load ads to earn credit for making phone calls for free. Worked once or twice but now it just has the spinning circle and eventually says no available ads. Waste of time 😔 I truly rely on this free calling app and it stinks to have to pay. If I could afford that, I'd have a cellphone plan. I hope this can be resolved effectively and soon. I certainly appreciate the existence of the app, but it needs to function well to be beneficial for anyone.

Only works when it wants to. I have to uninstall and reinstall just to make a phone call. I've been using text plus for years. This is getting ridiculous. Can't pick up a phone call, can't hang up, can't make a call, can't stop my phone from ringing after app has been forcefully closed. Edit: I can no longer make phone calls. Upon making a phone call I am greeted with silence untill the call ends on its own. Edit 2: reach out to your own team. I'm done using this app

Trash app.. over the years this app has gotten worse.. now it's to the point to find another app. Half the messages don't send. But it can force a ad down your throat anytime you back out to try and resend the message. Another ad. Just ads everywhere but messages won't send...you also won't get the other person messages either. I have had people show me they messaged me back but I never get the message. Save yourself the time don't get this app.

WORTHLESS. Messages frequently fail sending with error messages...much worse, they often fail sending WITHOUT error messages. I never know which messages actually made it to my recipients and which ones didn't. Also, any media attachments get severely compressed to the point of uselessness. The app also crashes frequently and refuses to even load more frequently. I am using a Samsung S24 Ultra.

Used to be a great app, now most times I try to make a call nothing happens. I have to close the app and reopen multiple times before I can call out. There are so many ads is ridiculous. Updated the app today and now I am ad in the middle of the message screen. Used $1 to remove full screen ads for a month and immediately got a full screen ad! When I try to watch videos for credit, there's never any available! Prime example of people putting money over customers! User after credits are used!

If the developers came up with this app thinking how to also make it utterly useless, they exceeded expectations. I go to send a message, have to establish a phone #. Okay, makes sense. Choose state and then area code and get a pop up saying "Oops! Something went wrong, please check your connection." Even though I knew my connection is just fine, I turned off WiFi and just used my data for a bit. Problem solved, right? Nope. Same message. Oops, something went wrong... I installed a POS app!

No longer works. Tried getting a new number. All I get is a screen reading "Oops, something went wrong....." I contacted the support, tried everything they suggested. Nothing worked. I finally reinstalled on all devices, and it won't work on any of them. I must uninstall. If it ever gets fixed, I'll be back. It was a good app when it was fully functional.
