Original post on 2/17/19: so far, compared to the other bazillion I've tried over the last few days, it's outstanding! I only hope it keeps working as well... *EDIT* It has continued to work beautifully - calls are crystal clear. Recently I got an iPad & found that regrettably, I would have to pay to install TextMe Up, but then I happily discovered that I could install another app under the TextMe Inc umbrella for free & still be able to use the same number. Fantastic!!

I chose 2 Stars only because Ad Pop ups constantly while talking and then we get disconnected. When a Caller calls me you don't know that anyone is calling because there is no sound, then if the phone does ring sometimes, you can't answer it, there isn't a place to see the where to answer. The text messages keep saying failed whenever I send it after sending it, it still says failed. I get calls coming in that go into a different contact number of someone else that I have texted. Gliches galore

Spent over 20 min. trying to find a phone # even remotely close to my location...only for them to lose it. Once I spent another 5 min. trying to find another, it kept taking ne back to the home screen while trying to send a text. Finally a message popped up informing me I couldn't text that particular # w/o taking out a subscription. Uninstalling this garbage app. Thanks for wasting my time.

This app actually is legit! I think this is great if you don't have service and want to text to SMS. The adds are annoying but usually only 10 seconds long. Sometimes app goes slow but honestly just the fact that it texts to SMS and gives a free phone number is awesome. I personally think google hangouts and google chat are really good apps though they only text through the app and not to SMS. This app has calling, messaging, voice mail, and group chats.

Iv been using this app for years and iv decided to give my little personal opinion on it and how I feel. To be frank it's quite awful. I understand they need advertising to make money so it can be a free app but there are ads EVERYWHERE! where the keyboard should be, below the keyboard, on top of the screen, and after you make a phone call it plays a video ad at whatever volume your phone was at so it could be loud as hell. Not to mention it puts ads in your texts AS YOU TEXT that look like mess

2-12_22 After I hit the send tab to send a message, the screen goes white. I have to tap it several times before the screen comes back.2-24-22 The white screen issue is gone. I have been using this app for a couple of years. Now, there are times when I am blocked. This has never happened before.5-12-22 I would have given lower, but then I wouldn't be able to leave a comment. Lately, I get ads before and after most of the messages I send.

its alright the app texts people off the permission of access to storage.. sends people pictures out my storage when I did not select that option. Other than that the phone works with your own internet provided or wifi. Calls and texts are received on time. i paid $7.99 to avoid a million ads. Without paying the the $7.99 subscription, its hard to make a call let alone a text.

Awful. I've paid 4 times in a week to get the ads off which are 15 seconds long between every call or text I attempt to make or open the app at all. I've had a subscription that says it takes off the ad and unlimited calling, but it locks up over and over , it freezes while I'm typing and the keyboard becomes inoperable. So even if I get In and wait up to a minute 3 times to get to a menu it goes In to a ad then locks up again before I can make a call or text it's awful and it's cost around 100$

I love this app.! It works in areas where I cannot get service from my cell phone network! Although I still have my original Service it works much better than there's! "Must have Wifi or internet". I'm not receiving all my calls but its very little to complain about when I couldn't get them at all before. I pay $60 per month and do not recieve text nor calls. With this "app" I receive my texts w/notices. I also pay the $8.99 a month to have adds removed. I'd definitely recommend, AWESOME APP!

This app is what I depend on, but it honestly garbage. I can't begin to describe how many glitches and bugs have got me in a fight because someone thought it was me doing it. The audio stops working on my end, the calls constantly quit on their own free will and don't work again for god knows how long, Calls make just the most off noises, that sound like creepy laughing dudes to heavy breathing, both terrifying, the messages AND calls don't reach then on their end almost at a l l. Fix it please.

this app is perfect, less stress while getting your US number, and the most amazing part the prior of allowing you to switch your old with the same account under 20seconds. But there is still room for improvement. in the aspect of quick sms delivery, it also work on every platform. Very good app, and I believe it's the best at the moment. try it..!

Satisfied I was reluctant at first to pay for the monthly subscription but now that I have, it is well worth it. A lot of these apps don't allow messages from websites to verify you on a two factor authentication form and they do, only in the paid version. Why? I have no clue. But for that low of a price it's great. The format of the app isn't necessarily totally user friendly, you have to know a bit about websites and apps to navigate through a few bugs.

I love the app it's over all good. The only problem I can find is that if I don't back out of a message to the main message screen (like where you can preview the first part of all your messages from everyone) I've notice that if I don't back out of a message it will not ring or alert me when I should be receiving them. Please fix the bug, thanks for all y'all's hard work the app is amazing

SMS and calls can be lost when changing devices or logging out. What is the purpose of cloud save? Still, there are benefits to using this app and it has its advantages. I don't use text apps that come with devices and service providers anymore because of never losing a message when switching devices while using apps such as, TextMeUp. I see no need to back up an entire device. That's just me. But, this app makes this unable to happen as stated in a support message.

I use this app when my cell network is not available, but I have access to WiFi. It is a dependable way to text & make occasional phone calls. It is FREE for the basic app which of course does have plenty of annoying ads; however I am willing to deal with that. You do get to pick your own area code & then choose your phone number from a list of several choices.

I used 3 + devices, each with this app, only one phone number for me so far. I would like it if the conversations would fully sync. of course each incoming text shows up on each phone. only one of those has a person's name, because on that phone it was also in my Google contacts where I may have initiated the conversation. the other two phones have the number only or a partial number visible. also they show none of the outgoing texts that have been sent from the other two. who got the last word?

It really depends on what you want. If you want a FREE (not tied up with your credit card ect) burner, this is what you can expect: you must use it once a week, it will NOT allow you to recieve verification messages from sites (like eBay) without you paying, it will NOT always save a number (sometimes it disables it even when you're active), it is absolutely packed with ads. So, if you're trying to head off spam callers & protect privacy? It doesnt work.

It's definitely convenient but it's extremely clitchy. Calls are dropped almost 90 percent of the time. Texts are received as late as two days sometimes or never received. Sent texts periodically never make it to the person whom they were sent to. Lately it seems the app wants to control itself and operate its own agenda. All negatives aside though, this app is significantly better than others, especially Text Now.

I like the fact that you can have multiple numbers from the same account with different area codes and also maintain conversation history and call log essentially for each number in the same space but still as separate numbers. I hate having to switch between this app and that app to use multiple numbers for individual purposes, it gets messy, confusing, frustrating and eventually mistakes are made. But not here. The ads at the bottom even after going premium are annoying but manageable.

The ads just kill everything. The subscription is a bit weird. I paid 20 to reserve the number for the year. But it costs an additional 9 bucks to get rid of ads monthly. A bit too pricey. And there's periods where the app just doesn't send texts to the other person. You can't predict when it happens either. All of a sudden in the middle of a conversation it just decides not to send a text to the other person. Constant bugs randomly.
