Works quite well, but sometimes the translation is too small to read, and ads have poor sound quality which causes earpiercing disturbances in quiet environmentents. Wish it would be possible to mute the ads.

Great app. It's obviously not perfect since it's google translate, but it gets the job done. The ads are kind of annoying, but at least it's not after every single translation. Edit: can you not watch an ad anymore to remove ads for 10 minutes?

The current experience is good, but a major complaint is the inability to choose/absence of other dictionaries. I'm translating Chinese and the most accurate translate I've experienced in China has been Baidu. Not being able to use Baidu is a major flaw in the current version for me and I sincerely hope there is an update that gives more translate options to make the paid version even more worth it.

Works very well, but the ads are way too often and I can't justify a $90 lifetime or a subscription payment for what is offered. I'd buy at $50 lifetime. Add: They updated and now you are required to open the app to close it instead of the quick close option that was available. Took off a star for that.

App is terrible, keeps saying "Get data purchase failed" on my screen after i tried a premium language thats supposed to be a free trial (i assume to steal my purchase info), translations half the time are blank, too slow, and dont follow the words when the screen moves, slows down device tremendously, also Google play keeps restarting preventing me from rating for some reason, i don't know why...

If I could give it 0 stars I would. Before the update it worked okay even if there were times where it couldn't translate or didnt make sense. Now it NEVER works anymore. Constantly being told that the service failed or saying theres no text when there is definately text. On top of that it's constantly asking me perimission to turn on the serive every time I use the app yet it doesn't even do anything at all and gives ads constantly. Useless app.

Really great app, although there's one somewhat annoying design choice. The ad at the bottom force's to display the entire thing, and it's a somewhat large add. I'm using a Fold so I like to use the dual app display for talking to friends speaking another language; I switch over to the normal translate function when I am replying. If you scroll just a little too far, it jumps to the bottom of the page, which makes it hard to click the copy button (and you can't just highlight text normally)

This app didn't work as the illustration. I tapped the button, but there was not way to drag it around the text. It highlighted everything on the page, but never translated anything. Then right in the middle of supposedly translating, it paused for a pop-up ad. Another app ruined by aggressive ads. Frustrated, I deleted it.

Raising my review by one star after the Sept update. Translations are more consistent, faster, and no longer included a space between every character when you copy the source text. There is a bug though with translating just a section: after you draw the selection box nothing happens until you touch again and adjust the size. The video ads are still annoying but I figured out how to mute them at least

Compare to other apps screen translate, this one is a little worse on catch the word but it do the job. The quality of translation is a little wonky, but you can guess the meaning. And with a lot of languages that you can chose from, the only cost is a sometimes ad that you can skip, without anything limited access to the usage of the app

Other translators claim to use Google Translate, but get different results from the Google Lens search. This one is almost identical to the Lens, but it somehow also makes the translations relatively more coherent. Only 4 stars though, because the Offline mode is the complete opposite and is really just a waste of space... If you could also get DeepL translation in this app, as well as an offline mode that works identically, this would be the best translator app hands down.

Some translator options are better than others, and some give the "failed" response. I purchased the premium to read chinese comics, I think it's worth it. Just wish the other translation options would work so that I can compare which one translates the best. Update: Says failed on every translator option. Please fix. Purchased and can't translate. Already updated and still does not work anymore. Says failed and try again and no text. Changing to 1 star until fixed. FIXED - That was really fast. Appreciate what you've done.

Well every time you want to use it have to reopen the app reset permission and then when you out line item for translate. Buffer wheel starts and either when wheel stops either Doesn't translate anything or the app keeps stopping, etc." After trying it out for two days, it translated a total 0. Out of about 30 items on internet. Try it if you like, maybe you'll have better luck than I did.

Just recently downloaded and this by far has helped me better than others translator apps I've tried. I get text message from my Child's Teacher at school that are all in Spanish. My daughter is bilingual and my husband and I are mainly English speaking. Before I was having to switch back and forth between each block and the translation app to read these messages. Check back in about month see if it's still the one!👍

Fundamentally it works really well and it's rather good for machine translations and I understand not all translations will be perfect. The only reason I don't rate it higher is every so often it takes forever to translate and about a handful of times now it caused my phone "Samsung galaxy note 8" to freeze up so bad It literally will not respond to any command for about a minute or 2. All that being said other than some minor issues it proves useful for what I am using it for

It's a very good app but however it has a few issues. However those issues are quite common amongst apps like these. *WARNING* This app feature must be turned off before you turn off your device! Failure to do so may result in your device turning on and off, a prompt will pop up asking whether or not to do a factory reset, and potentially lock you out of your phone basically forever. (Because on and off loop) It does have disruptive ads I wish were less intrusive and maybe options to reduce it

Probably the best on screen translator, and that's a tragedy because it's barely functional and has exactly zero features such as font size adjustments. But it translates on screen, which you would think is equivalent to transmuting lead into gold for how hard it is to find a functional app. Tap to Translate is hard to read, gives constantly overlapping text, and has no adjustible features whatsoever. It's not worth paying for, but it works.

It was a decent app, until the update. It helped me read Chinese. Now, nothing works. Before, it didn't always read the characters on the page and it had difficulty translating using just one tap, making it time consuming. In Chinese, new words are formed by adding more strokes to a base character or combining characters. Since the meaning of the characters change, depending on how it's used in a sentence. Sometimes, translations come out as gibberish. Also, it can't translate from top down.

I would prefer an option to close the translated text like before(with a tap instead of the new swipe up), though the new way may be better. One improvement would be if it could separate different colored text with an option. It sometimes gives weird phrases from unrelated ones. More importantly, though, the overlapping text is a common bug, which needs some work. In general, though, I like it, and find that it suits my needs. Edit: the new button is really ugly, and there's no customization -1*

decent sometimes wonky translations but the app would be improved so much if closing the on-screen translations was easier. to close on screen translations, you have to click an x in the corner of the screen. because of the layout of my phone and screen protector, it's difficult to close the translations and I have to press the same spot multiple times. simply being able to close the translation by clicking the translation button again would make this so much easier and a better experience
